We are using this pigment to honor Áine, the Irish Fairy Queen, who is this year's featured goddess at Gaea Goddess Gathering. This episode begins with the idea that all the troubles in the world at this time bring a great weight and pressure down upon, not just humanity as a whole, but also each individual soul. Since our souls are secretly tuned to the world, the widening divisions outside us tend to activate inner splits within us, specifically in the form of early life feelings of being abandoned, rejected and overwhelmed.     Fears of abandonment and overwhelm return each time we face great obstacles or the need to truly change, not because we are inherently bad or simply ill-fated. Rather, a genuine crisis will activate our early life experiences of rejection and loss in order that we find ways to heal our inner wounds and at the same time reveal our deepest gifts. Part of what seeks to become reclaimed as part of our natural inheritance used to be known as the child of joy, the source of natural buoyancy as well as inner resiliency.     Our innate connection to joy can be a meaningful antidote to the weight of the world and the increasing anxieties that entrap us. However, finding again this kind of soul connection requires that we work through the exact wounds that keep us from feeling fully alive to begin with. The problem turns out to be not simply that there was an original betrayal that leaves us wounded, but also that we keep betraying ourselves in the same way. Eventually, the issue is not simply who did what to us and why, but rather how we manage to stop abandoning ourselves each time we feel fearful, on the edge of overwhelm or stuck in life again.     Genuine change and renewal, on both individual and collective levels, require that we touch the original splits again and heal the wounds that separate us from the inner source of existence and the innate sense of joy that naturally attends the gift of life. For it is this soul connection and inner resilience that seeks to be found, that waits to be felt again and that wishes to be nourished, despite and because of the troubles that now plague the world.     Thank you for listening to and supporting Living Myth. Manon Vandenbussche is a DE landscape designer, graduating from the École de Paysage de Versailles in 2021. She began her apprenticeship with the D'ICI LÀ Paysages et Territoires agency, and a few months later continued her experience with landscape designers Benoit Barnoud and Clara Loukkal at the Altitude 35 agency. She has developed a cross-disciplinary approach to research and landscape design, with a particular attachment to the storytelling of the territory and the different forms it can take.Olivier Chenevier is a DE landscape designer and DE architect. After completing his studies in 2022, he joined the TN+ landscape agency alongside Jean Christophe Nani. Olivier has a keen interest in the living environment and geography, and has twice been awarded the Europan prize. His first E16 winning project, L'école des Arts de la Terre, explores the link between human activity, geology and the wild world. Prior to founding Reneu Energy, Benoy was the Environmental Commodities Trader in Tesla's Project Finance Group, where he managed one of the largest environmental commodities portfolios. He originated REC trades and co-developed a monetization and hedging strategy with senior leadership to enter the East Coast market. As Vice President at Vanguard Energy Partners, Benoy crafted project finance solutions for commercial-scale solar portfolios. His role at Ridgewood Renewable Power, a private equity fund with 125 MWs of U.S. renewable assets, involved evaluating investment opportunities and maximizing returns. He also played a key role in the sale of the firm's renewable portfolio. Earlier in his career, Benoy worked in Energy Structured Finance at Deloitte & Touche and Financial Advisory Services at Ernst & Young, following an internship on the trading floor at D.E. Shaw & Co., a multi billion dollar hedge fund. It's time to introduce a younger person into the fraternal order of two… er three wheels. So now is when we should see sales of “intro” models leaving skidmarks out of the showroom doors. In all honesty, that's probably not the case. Why? Because of the problems that we make for ourselves. To start with, we need less retarded motorcycle podcasts and influencers telling you how you aren't a rider until you get a certain bike or ride a certain way. We also need to stop talking about “beginner bikes” and graduated licenses. Horses Cars Automotive Motorsports Aircraft McDonald's worker These are all things without smaller “beginner” models and unwavering expectations. Sure there might be power differences to some degree, but when you're learning to fly a plane, there's no half sized Cessna 172 Skyhawk. You get in and learn, regardless of age (Kids are learning to fly solo!) When you get in a Boeing 737, there is no restricted engine size. When you learn to ride horses, you don't start out on miniature horses and work your way up to ponies and then full size horses. Certainly not as an adult, but usually not as a child either. You learn on a full-size horse. It may be a smaller breed, but it's not a ½ sized horse. Cars, McDonald's worker, Train Engineer…. Need this shitty list go on? "You wake up at 5:20, you put your tee in the ground, you hit your shot, and then the four of you walk off to the ball and you hit it again, and you keep on going. It's very simplistic. You go left foot, right foot until you're finished. 72 holes."Jason has tackled one of golf's most brutal endurance tests 13 times: the Bandon Solstice. This isn't your casual weekend round. Participants play 72 holes of walking-only golf in a single day, starting at 5:20 AM on the longest day of the year at Bandon Dunes Resort in Oregon. What makes this particularly nasty? Try 50,000+ steps across four championship courses with no carts allowed. Jason learned the hard way when his caddie bailed after 36 holes during his first attempt, forcing him to carry his own bag the rest of the way. The preparation is serious business: "You need to eat a lot of food the night before. You should be uncomfortable when you leave the dinner table" because you'll burn around 10,000 calories during the challenge! Weather can be absolutely brutal. Jason recalls 60-mph winds so fierce that "the sand looked like water" flowing across the beach below the clifftop courses. Getting in requires either legacy status (like Jason earned by pestering the original GM into making it official) or winning what's essentially a lottery that sells out within minutes. The waiting list is rumored to be 10 years deep."It's absolutely doable to such a broad range of fitness levels," Jason insists, though surviving involves equal parts physical endurance and mental fortitude.
