Mad Science. Bad Science. Terrifying Monsters...Retro sci-fi chiller audiodrama. Professor Wilbur Matlock, an English investigator into the paranormal during the 1970s, made hundreds of recordings of his recollections of encounters with aliens, ghosts, vampires and various other creatures of the night. THE MATLOCK TAPES utilises those recordings, adding music and sound effects and some supplementary material to lift the lid on some mysterious and often terrifying events. THE MATLOCK TAPES contains scenes of supernatural horror and violence and some mild sexual references and swearing. The latest episode is a Halloween special!

Introducing the first Matlock Tapes Extra - "Away with the Birds". There are literally hundreds of recordings in the Matlock archive, and not all of them are suitable for conversion into a full episode of the Matlock Tapes. It would be a shame not to share these, so we've created this strand within the podcast for unedited, raw material, direct and unaltered. No music, no sound effects, just the voice of Professor Matlock. Listen to him as he tells you one of his stories. Whether it's 'All True', or not, we'll leave you to decide.... (If you suffer from Ornithophobia you may want to give this one a miss...) Introduced by Giles Cosgrove.

Is this thing on? I hope that you can hear me. What I have to say must go on record somewhere. Before it's lost forever. I am Professor Wilbur Matlock and my intention is to record my thoughts and experiences to these tapes - to document them as fully as I am able, so that in the event of my death or a cover up by forces unknown, at least some of what I have learned may survive. The stories you are about to hear are improbable, you may even find them ridiculous, but please believe me when I tell you that they are ALL TRUE...!
