Apologies for the wait, but we're back! We don't often do episodes focused around one specific thing, but we're making an exception to talk about Netflix's newest interactive special: We Lost Our Human, and we're joined by its two co-creators, Chris and Rikke! (They also co-created the Nickelodeon series Pinky Malinky, and both have worked on many, many other animated projects, with Chris working as showrunner, producer, writer, art director, storyboarder, character designer and more. As for Rikke, she's also been a showrunner, producer, voice director, animator, animation director, storyboard artist, and more.)Together they talk about how they broke into animation and got into interactive narrative, what they thought the hardest part of making We Lost Our Human would be, getting advice from the Bandersnatch folks, making media for kids vs adults, whether it was difficult for the actors to keep the branching story in their heads, unexpected learnings, the new production pipeline they had to build, Netflix's branch manager tool, James Baxter, whether they had to adjust WLOH based on Netflix data, and what advice they'd give to someone making an interactive special now.Our Guests on the InternetChris' Instagram, and Twitter.Rikke's Instagram.Stuff We Talked AboutWe Lost Our HumanPinky MalinkyBandersnatchHeroes of Might and MagicTHE NEWZEALAND STORYOur theme music was done by Isabella Ness, and our logo was done by Lily Nishita.

First broadcast on FAB RADIO INTERNATIONAL at 19:00 on January 1st 2023 VISION ON SOUND's old friend SANDY McGREGOR is back again this week to take a look at another of the serious television dramas that he enjoys so much and likes to talk to me about. This time it's PETER FLANNERY'S epic nine-part drama OUR FRIENDS IN THE NORTH that he has been watching. It's a story based upon the original scripts created for a stage show version, written whilst FLANNERY was writer-in-residence at the ROYAL SHAKESPEARE COMPANY, and which, when it came to be produced, was such a huge production that it was allocated half of the BBC's DRAMA BUDGET for the entire year it was made in. The story unfolds across a quarter of a century. The story starts in 1964 and the TV version, unlike the stage play, which ends in 1979, takes the story on to the year 1995. The series follows the lives of four friends who grew up in NEWCASTLE, GEORDIE PEACOCK, NICKY HUTCHISON, MARY SOULSBY and TOSKER COX as played in career-making roles by DANIEL CRAIG, CHRISTOPHER ECCLESTON, GINA McKEE, and MARK STRONG, in a variety of hairpieces and make-up. The series is set around the backdrop of seismic and significant political and social upheavals, and we meet these characters in several historically significant years as they grow up and grow apart, and as their lives continue to cross and diverge over the decades, and we witness the various triumphs and disappointments that they meet along the way. Much like in real life really. With a supporting cast of acting greats like PETER VAUGHAN, MALCOLM MACDOWELL, ALUN ARMSTRONG, DAVID BRADLEY, TONY HAYGARTH, PETER JEFFREY and DONALD SUMPTER on the roster, this was the definite “must see” event drama of the year 1996, and won the BEST DRAMA SERIAL BAFTA AWARD in 1997 with several of the actors also being nominated, alongside nominations in several technical categories. In 2022, the story was rewritten, and updated as a radio series for RADIO FOUR featuring different actors LUKE McGREGOR, JAMES BAXTER, NORAH LOPEZ HOLDEN and PHILIP CORREIA, featuring a tenth chapter written by ADAM USDEN which was set in 2020, so I think, like a lot of the very best sagas, this is a story that keeps on getting more fascinating as the years pass. PLEASE NOTE - For Copyright reasons, musical content sometimes has to be removed for the podcast edition. All the spoken word content remains (mostly) as it was in the broadcast version. Hopefully this won't spoil your enjoyment of the show.

For through their prayer they would merit this result, and themselves be spiritually strengthened. Without prayer they would do a great deal of hammering but accomplish little, and sometimes nothing, and even at times cause harm.” –St. John of the Cross

This week's Say Yes to Holiness podcast 1:1 Conversation is with James Baxter, Co-founder, and CEO of Exodus 90. Exodus 90 is a ninety-day Catholic program for men based on Christ's roadmap to freedom: prayer, asceticism, and fraternity. Our conversation focused upon James' story of his journey to becoming the co-founder of Exodus 90, and how God has continued to move in his life in the midst of journeying with more than 50,000 men on the Exodus journey. James attended St. John Vianney Seminary in Saint Paul, Minnesota and St. Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology in St. Meinrad, Indiana before discerning God was calling him to marriage and secular life. In 2015, James assumed responsibility for scaling Exodus 90 from a seminary formation program into a spiritual exercise to bring the freedom of Jesus Christ to His men. James now lives in Fort Wayne, Indiana with his wife Colleen, son Joseph and baby girl Genevieve. Exodus 90 allows men who desire to grow in the spiritual life and gain greater freedom to call together a fraternity of 5-7 men to join them in following a set structure of prayer, asceticism, and fraternity for 90 days. During this time they will be led by daily readings from the book of Exodus, paired with daily reflections, to keep them on the road to freedom. Research shows that habits can be dramatically transformed in a span of 90 days. And, when put in the context of Biblical stories, a routine prayer life, and a fraternity of brothers to support you, men experience freedom from unwanted habits and an ability to be who they were truly called to be: Men in Christ. Men of the Church. Men for Others. I pray that this conversation with James helps inspire you to keep doing WHATEVER IT TAKES to either take up the Exodus90 challenge yourself, or to encourage the and support the men you love in your life to SAY YES to this invitation to become more fully the man God created them to be. To learn more about Exodus90, go to: https://exodus90.com/ --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/sayyestoholiness/message
It was the strength of the Israelites that scared the Pharaoh. You learn that in the first several verses of the Book of Exodus. The rest of the Book is about the journey to freedom: first the liberation from Egypt, then the training in freedom through the years in the desert. The whole journey concerns Israel's growth as God's own people. Since 2016, the Exodus 90 program has been following this same path: giving men a reliable structure of basic spiritual disciplines to grow in freedom. The point is to let the true strength of men become a gift for others. My guest today is the co-founder and CEO of Exodus 90, James Baxter. James has overseen the growth of this program from a handful of men in its first year to now over 50,000 men in over 70 countries around the world, and from hundreds of parishes all across the United States. I want to talk with James about the inspiration for this spiritual program, the fruits that it bears, and why something like this is so needed for men today.

Sports are back, videos and shows are better than ever, the sun is setting earlier, the weather growing colder, it's time for a movie night. There's much good that can come from a family movie night. There's much good that can come from a family watching a sports game together. There's also something good about bringing a TV out for these particular events. Want to rethink the way you and your family do television? Dive into this episode of the Exodus 90 Show where Nathaniel Binversie and James Baxter talk about their new TV's, and more importantly how they intend to use them. Check out The Exodus 90 Show on YouTube: youtube.com/c/exodus90
God's love is constantly working to make good things happen for his people. It's for our good that we live attentive to the promptings of his love and work in accord with them. In this show the tables turn and James Baxter asks the show host, Nathaniel Binversie, about how he came to be the author of Exodus 90. And in the fervorino Nathaniel gives us a personal reminder of the goodness of God the Father and his love.
Why is the world not fair? Why are we still asking this paralyzing question? Let's stop asking the question and start living from the reality. In Episode 21 Nathaniel Binversie, author of Exodus 90, talks with James Baxter about a recent experience he had with sharing his ministry starting experience with members of the OSV Institute Challenge. And in the fervorino, Nathaniel breaks down the myth about being fair. And from this, he gives practicals on how to, and how not to, live from the reality of fairness, or unfairness more specifically.

There's nothing like some good misconceptions: Exodus is only for macho men; Exodus is only for holy men; Exodus is only for American men; Exodus is only for Christian men … Who is Exodus 90 and the Day 91 Exercises actually for?
