‘Untold Pleasure’ is the Cancer, Sex & Intimacy podcast. Your hosts and co-founders of the Cancer, Sex & Intimacy project, Cheryl and Sarah aim to shine a light on the way cancer can have an impact on your intimate and sexual pleasure. Through interviews with members of the cancer community, health care professionals and project partners, 'Untold Pleasure’ seeks to open up conversations that smash the silence, stigma and shame around cancer, sex and intimacy. Some listeners may find the conversations we have triggering at times. Discussions often include references to cancer and its impact on physical, mental and sexual health, some of which could be traumatic. However all our guests and our hosts are very keen to always combine the harder parts of the cancer, sex and intimacy experience with the more uplifting, empowering and positive aspects. We encourage people to listen with kindness and compassion for themselves, when they’re in the right mood, and are easily able to access support from family, friends or their healthcare team if anything mentioned is emotionally triggering. But we guarantee you will also have many laughs along your listening journey too. Look after yourselves. The Untold Pleasure podcast is a Fig Films production. With Episode 5 we discuss cancer, sex and intimacy through a queer lens. Healthcare is often very heteronormative in the way it thinks and operates. For people whose sexuality is not heterosexual and whose gender identity goes against the binary there can be huge ramifications for their individual experience of cancer, sex, pleasure and body autonomy. We are joined by Jennifer Crouch who has had breast cancer and is an artist whose work looks at the queer experience and how that intersects with the body and science. Jennifer also delves into their personal experience with kink after a cancer diagnosis. Joining us on the journey is Bima Loxley who is a brilliantly knowledgeable and open sex & relationship therapist who specialises in gender, sexual and relationship diversity. For more information follow us on Instagram @sex_cancer_intimacyLearn more from Bima Loxley via their Instagram @loxleysexologywww.bimaloxley.com
