Four regular guys talk about irregular things on a semi regular basis
it's EPISODE 50!!! The Smashcast crew return for our triumphant 50th episode... where we haven't really prepared at all. Real life is keeping us busy, but we wanted to be sure Episode 50 had all of us on board, so here it is. Sure, Ant sounds like a Dalek, and Doug's audio takes a second to cut in, and Tony's is a bit hit and miss, but that means after 50 episodes. George has the best sound quality! Huzzah! In this episode, we look at the latest wrestling news - AEW, WWE to BTSport, and we touch on the tragic passing of UK wrestler Lionheart and pay tribute to him, and the outpouring of support for him and mental health issues. Reach out, folks... you never know when it makes a difference. In football news - Kieran Tierney leaves Ant a broken man, Wayne Rooney heads to Derby County and much more - PLUS our predictions for the upcoming football season. Who will get "Doug-ed" this year? Sorry Notts County fans... Let us know what you thought on our twitter @WeAreSmashcast Music: "Synthwave" by Ryan Andersen From the Free Music Archive CC BY NC
The return that no one has been waiting for, the SmashCast is back! Well, kinda. We are minus regular host Tony for this episode as we catch up on everything we've missed over the last couple of months. Stand-in host Ant is joined by Doug and George as the team looks back at our predictions for league winners across the top UK leagues, and a couple of Scottish ones as well. Who managed to get the oldest team in the Football League relegated? Tune in to find out. We also cover some of the happenings in the wrestling world with a look back at recent shows from AEW, NXT and WWE. SmashCast brings you a road report from Premier British Wrestling in Barlanark, Glasgow! First of all - we apologise for the overall quality of the majority of this show. Technical problems plagued us from the outset but somehow, we have managed to stitch it together into what we think is a great little show. We were in Barlanark Community Centre to watch PBW entertain a sold out crowd, and as well as having some live reports from during the show, we spoke to Scotland's favourite luchador, Lucha DS about wrestling, life, podcasting and much more. Get some on the spot takes from our own Tony and Ant (who was promoting the show) and some live reactions from the fans as the matches are happening. We managed to update the scores on our WrestleMania and NXT predictions at the end of the show (honestly, we had about two hours of content for this show recorded, but dreaded technical gremlins put paid to the bulk of it) and we have a shocking conclusion to this season's league table. Check our twitter feed @WeAreSmashcast for an exciting competition soon - you could win a PBW DVD and poster - and let us know what you thought of the show, if we should try something like this again in the future! SmashCast returns with a rare treat, we have a special guest - that's right, the masked man of mystery Malcolm joins us to round off this week's panel. We talk about WCW's Clash Of The Champions X, has there ever been golf on the moon and delve into all the latest football and wrestling news. Well, delve is a bit of a strong word. We take a look at it, poke it with a stick and leave it well alone, to be honest. Our topic of the week is about who was the best ever wrestler never to be a recognized World Champion? Guest Malcolm weighs in with some hot takes in this one, and George's hosting skills are called into question during our regular dose of "DOUG'S GAME DOUG'S GAME YEAH YEAH YEAH". A huge thank you to our guest Malcolm for spending some time with us, even if he did seem to break Ant at one point in the show. Thanks, masked man! The Smashcast returns for a new year with the same old nonsense. It’s a different vibe in the studio this week as we record without regular host Tony for the first time and debut a new segment which goes so horribly, horribly wrong We debate the prospects of the various NXT call ups – who will fly and who will flop? Sadly, we have a shorter show than usual due to being so lost without Tony If you think our previous shows were good, wait until you hear this one, it’s shit. Come back Tony!
