Wrestling Tonight: Episode 132 arrives at a moment where nearly every major promotion is pushing forward at once. AEW, WWE, NXT, TNA, ROH, and NJPW all have significant developments converging on a single weekend—each with something to prove and plenty to deliver. At the center is AEW All In: Texas, relocated from London's Wembley Stadium to Globe Life Field in Arlington. What began as a necessary shift has taken on new meaning, as AEW presents a lineup centered on legacy, rivalry, and change. Jon Moxley and Hangman Page revisit their violent history in a Texas Death Match. Kenny Omega and Kazuchika Okada meet again, years removed from their Tokyo Dome series, with both the Continental and International titles on the line. Toni Storm defends the AEW Women's Championship against Mercedes Moné, while The Young Bucks stake their executive roles against the rising challenge of Swerve Strickland and Will Ospreay. Jim Ross returns to commentary, bringing a familiar voice back for a match that helped define this generation of wrestling. Meanwhile, WWE is poised for a major double-header. Evolution returns for the first time since 2018 as a full-scale PLE, headlined by Tiffany Stratton vs. Trish Stratus and IYO SKY vs. Rhea Ripley. Naomi and Jade Cargill aim to settle a personal score in a No Holds Barred match, and the tag and NXT titles are also in play. The night before, The Great American Bash sees NXT continue its partnership with TNA, including a tag match previewing Jordynne Grace's title shot, and Oba Femi defending the NXT Championship against Yoshiki Inamura. Trick Williams, Joe Hendry, and Mike Santana also meet for a contract signing ahead of their Slammiversary main event. Saturday Night's Main Event returns to NBC with a mix of nostalgia and current stakes. Gunther defends the World Heavyweight Title against Goldberg in what's being promoted as a retirement match. Randy Orton and Drew McIntyre continue their long-running rivalry, while Seth Rollins faces LA Knight with SummerSlam implications. Outside the ring, the broader landscape continues to shift. John Cena has confirmed his retirement match will take place in December. AJ Styles has signed a one-year extension, with the end of his in-ring career likely on the horizon. Tony Khan has commented on AEW's openness to international partnerships, while WWE's legal battle with Janel Grant intensifies, with new filings drawing in board-level communications and discovery disputes. Supercard of Honor adds more to the weekend, with Bandido vs. Konosuke Takeshita, Athena vs. Thunder Rosa, and The Infantry finally earning a shot at ROH tag team gold. Scorpio Sky also made his return on Collision, ending a long period of uncertainty in his AEW career. In Japan, the G1 Climax field is now finalized, with Ryohei Oiwa set to make his debut and YOSHI-HASHI returning for the first time since 2022. Gabe Kidd retained his IWGP Global Championship over Hiroshi Tanahashi, then publicly declared his intention to win the tournament—further solidifying his place in NJPW's next wave. This weekend marks not just a milestone, but a reflection of wrestling's current landscape interconnected, transitional, and constantly evolving. From stadium shows to streaming exclusives, legacy rivalries to first-time matchups, Wrestling Tonight covers the full spectrum. Subscribe on YouTube, Spotify, and Apple Podcasts, and follow @TurnbuckleTavern for live updates, interviews, and weekly insight across WWE, AEW, NJPW, TNA, ROH, and the independent scene. Phil Keoghan is host of TV's "Amazing Race," and he's also put together an incredible documentary about the 1928 Tour de France. The doc is called Le Ride, and Phil and his buddy Ben rode the 3,300+ mile course on bicycles from that time. They filmed their race, and are now sharing their story. Phil talks about the search to find the bikes, plotting and recreating the original course to the best of their ability, and why the 1928 race was so important to document. He talks about nutrition and training back then compared to what he & Ben did today, the conditions of the road now vs 1928, the gear, and the support team now vs then. He also recounts the mental and physical strain of riding 150 miles a day for 26 straight days. It's a fascinating, nearly unbelievable journey, and a must-listen!See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
Put on your Nintendo Power Gloves and travel back with us 1990 for another deep dive into Mean Mark on this month's Talking Taker! Join wrestling superfans Alex Doriot and Travis White on their encyclopedic exploration digging up The Dead Man as they take the time-traveling hearse back again to WCW to discuss his rise up the ranks in the formative days of his pro wrestling career. When we last left the man who would become The Undertaker he was scoring a win in his first ever PPV match against Johnny Ace. Now he's continuing to fly high with his Heatseeking Missile elbow drop and the devastating heart punch as he runs through another incredible crew of jobbers like Max Miles and "Ding Dong Bundy". Plus he's got a new manager watching out for him as Teddy Long sells his contract to Paul E. Dangerously which leads to an even meaner streak in his matches. It all leads up to a big showdown with Flyin' Brian at Clash Of The Champions: Coastal Crush that just might be Mark Calaway's best wrestling match to date. We'll cover all the ridiculousness of 90's wrestling including Jim Cornette's savage commentary digs at Paul E., the legendary movie character that Mean Mark definitely influenced, Tommy Rich's incomprehensible word salad, and our apologies to the family of Ray Gunkel. All that plus another round of Undertaker Sightings including the return of 6 Feet Under, Taker's recent health scare, a random sighting in the New York Times Games section, and Travis and Alex's recaps of their recent trips to Smackdown and an indie show meeting a couple of Hall Of Famers! On this episode of The Vault, Shawn is joined by Logan and Shiff to dive into the wonderfully weird world of WCW Capital Combat 1990 – aka "The Return of Robocop", aka "How Many Tag Matches Can We Cram Into One Night?" Shawn was there live and he's got stories. Spoiler: Robocop doesn't wrestle, but he does bend some "steel" bars. The gang breaks down: Lex Luger vs. Ric Flair in a cage match with all the drama and none of the clean finishes. The Road Warriors' last hurrah in WCW for a while – and surprisingly go out with a bang. A tag team overload that had some long ass matches and odd pairings, balanced with two bangers. So. Many. Promos. And Segments. Need an intermission? Too bad, here's Gordon Solie being miserable and accosted by purple fog machines. Whether you're here for the debut of El "Lazertron" Gigante, Captain Mike Routnda, A hair match with two bald guys, grown men beating each other with sex straps, the return of JYD, the greatness of the Steiners and The Midnight Express, Luger on his deathbed getting screwed out of the World or just to hear Logan say Robocop, this episode is for you. And hey, if you want to relive the chaos, you can actually watch Capital Combat 1990 on the WCW YouTube Channel – but listen to us first so you know when to enjoy, laugh, cringe, or question your life choices. Hit play and prepare for a wild ride through steel cages, spandex, and sci-fi madness – only on The Vault!!

Think you know where the Goldberg vs Gunther hype train is heaxded? Kevin Nash has other ideas—and they involve three-minute shock finishes, jealous ex-pros, and why one well-timed spear can flip an entire roster on its head. Sean Oliver keeps the gas pedal down, dragging Kev into tales you've never heard: chainsaws that bite harder than any wrestling bump, the backstage shovel incident that sent half the WCW locker room running, and the real reason Diesel never needed a gold belt to print money. Just when you're settled in, the conversation swerves into live-wire territory. From dangerous spears that could end a career in one highlight clip to the lost art of a believable stomp, Nash breaks down ring psychology like only a seven-footer who's done it all can. Then things get global. The guys riff on stealth bombers, secret strikes, and why Tehran's future looks very different when you have a B-2's shadow overhead. It's wrestling talk one minute, geopolitics the next—exactly what you've come to expect from a show that never stays in its lane. Hit play to catch every unfiltered take, every unscripted laugh, and every moment that will have the smarks rewriting their hot-takes by morning. Like, subscribe, and jump into the comments with your own dream finish—just be ready for Big Kev to stomp on it. TUSHY-Over 2 Million Butts Love TUSHY. Special guest Joey Thurman discusses his extensive career, starting with his childhood dream of becoming a professional wrestler. He shares how he began training at 16 and had his first wrestling match by 17. His early career included working at television matches in Georgia, a significant hub for indie wrestling.Joey recounts working with wrestling legends he idolized, such as Abdullah the Butcher, and more. He also talks about working with Junkyard Dog, the Samoans, and knowing Big Boss Man. He describes how a chance encounter led him to WCW's training facility, where he eventually got signed.A severe injury during his tenure at WCW led to a career change, as he spent 16 months in a body cast and had to relearn walking. This led him to a 16-year career in law enforcement in Georgia. While still a police officer, he stumbled into acting, landing a role in "Remember the Titans".Joey delves into the art of wrestling, emphasizing the importance of listening to the crowd. He discusses his character, "Mad Dog Joe," a heel who used Alka-Seltzer to foam at the mouth. He also shares insights into the creative freedom given to wrestlers for promos and storylines.Later in the episode, Joey talks about his role as Jack Dixon in "The Marks," a movie he describes as a "cult classic" with a unique 90s feel. He reveals how he and his friend intentionally botched their audition for "The Marks" to stand out, which ultimately landed him the lead role. Joey also touches upon his directing career, including a feature film called "There Was Tom" and a pilot for Lifetime. He also mentions releasing a new album and touring with his band. Keywords: Joey Thurman, professional wrestling, indie wrestling, WCW, wrestling legends, Abdullah the Butcher, Junkyard Dog, Big Boss Man, Mad Dog Joe, wrestling promos, wrestling storylines, acting, director, law enforcement, police officer, Remember the Titans, The Marks, There Was Tom, Lifetime, music, band, career change, Hollywood, cult classic, podcast interview, entertainment podcast, celebrity interview, career journey, behind the scenes, unscripted.
