Actual Anarchy Podcast - AnCap Movie Reviews from a Rothbardian Perspective
Drake Lundstrom from www.GuidetoLibertarianism.com joins us to celebrate Shark Week, the upcoming Sharknado 5, and mourn the passing of John Heard (the old drunk guy in Sharknado 1, he was also the dad in Home Alone). Drake claims this is the 3rd most libertarian movie OF ALL TIME. We'll see about that. Shows notes: www.actualanarchy.com/36 Presented by www.ActualAnarchy.com Robert and I analyze popular movies from a Rothbardian/AnarchoCapitalist perspective. We use movies as a starting point for people who may not be familiar with this way of thinking. Discussion of the plot and decisions that characters make in relation to morality and violations of the non-aggression principle are our bread and butter. We also will highlight and discuss any themes or lessons from Austrian Economics that we can glean from the film. The point is to show what anarchy actually is with instances that are presented in film. We publish at least once per week; and occasionally will do specials surrounding holidays or events (elections/olympics) and have guests. SUBSCRIBE, RATE AND REVIEW ON APPLE PODCASTS (or iTUNES)
Actual Anarchy Podcast - AnCap Movie Reviews from a Rothbardian Perspective
"It will be Anarchy!" We bring on a special guest to talk about the John Hughes classic, "the Breakfast Club". This iconic movie really just serves as a springboard into a copious variety of topics ranging from schools, prisons, gun rights, the industrial revolution, monarchy and more. They were five students with nothing in common, faced with spending a Saturday detention together in their high school library. At 7 a.m., they had nothing to say, but by 4 p.m. they had bared their souls to each other and become good friends. John Hughes, creator of the critically acclaimed Sixteen Candles, wrote, directed and produced this hilarious and often touching comedy starring Emilio Estevez, Anthony Michael Hall, Judd Nelson, Molly Ringwald and Ally Sheedy. To the outside world they were simply the Jock, the Brain, the Criminal, the Princess and the Kook, but to each other, they would always be "The Breakfast Club". Our guest Drake Lundstrom is working on a really cool project that we will feature when it is ready for release.
