Mike takes a look at the 12 most profitable movies of all times. These extraordinary films prove you don't need a hundred-million-dollar budget to break the box office. He shares how all 12 movies cost about $10 million to make... and they pulled in nearly $1.9 billion from My Big Fat Greek Wedding and Obsession to Rocky and Paranormal Activity. In the Movie Review, Mike talks about The Invite with Seth Rogen, Olivia Wilde, Penélope Cruz, Edward Norton. It’s about a dinner party that spirals into unexpected places when a couple invite their enigmatic neighbors over. Have they reignited the spark in their troubled marriage or lit the match that burns it all down? He talks about the anxiety the movie caused him, the fantastic score and why it’s one of the most absurdly beautiful movies he’s seen this year. In the Trailer Park, Mike blind reacts to Avengers: Doomsday. Which is about heroes from three different worlds must unite when they're thrust together to confront a catastrophic danger that could destroy everything they know. He shares what excites and worries him the most about this trailer New Episodes Every Monday! This Week on the Toy Power Podcast; even though we are Celebrating our 10th Year of Podcasting; we unfortunately exhausted all our energy on the Previous SDCC Reveals & Announcements Ep. So we are giving you a ReIssue episode instead from the Vault. (Originally Posted as Ep #143 - from October 2019). Original blurb: It’s a very special ep as we’re joined by not one, but two of favourite guests in Davey Damaged and Scotty so that’s right – it’s a Homer episode! Trent takes us through a vintage retrospective look at The Addams family by Playmates. Perfectly timed for Halloween, we wonder what could have been with this short-lived line and look to the future of the franchise as a new movie approaches. What characters didn’t get made, which ones make the camera glow and where does MC Hammer fit into it all? We make the jump to Show and Tell as Davey tries to trump us all with a purchase so large, we doubt it will actually fit in his toy room! There’s some DC, MOTU and even Final Fantasy options to choose from. Frank gives a lovely tribute showing that sometimes, the value of a toy; lays in more than its sticker price. Then it’s Quiz time and with Davey onboard, anything is possible. To say this episode goes off the rails is putting it mildly – but on the plus side we learnt that Trent can’t hold his liquor, Ben thinks photos record sound, Space Jam was an event and Rick Moranis is Trent’s muse. So hold on for this crazy ride that also serves as a farewell for one of the team…Support the show: http://patreon.com/toypowerpodcastSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The Shawshank Redemption, Escape from Alcatraz, Sing Sing, Chicago, and Dead Man Walking have all shaped our outsider perspective on the inside. But the harsh reality is more than Rita Hayworth posters, daring escapes, Shakespearian plays, lavish musical fantasies, and gridiron football. It's gritty, brutal, and unrelenting. And what better way to capture that than with contraband cellphone video from the prisoners themselves? It's Wasteman directed by Cal McMow. Tonight on Triple Feature, we turn the spotlight on Molly Ringwald through three films that capture the rise, strain and collapse of her iconic teenage screen persona. Pretty in Pink places her at the center of a class-conscious romance, where style, poverty and social humiliation matter as much as love. The Pick-Up Artist tries to move her into adult sexuality, pairing her with Robert Downey Jr. in a strange collision of screwball courtship, gambling debt and urban menace. For Keeps? pushes her further, using teen pregnancy, marriage and economic pressure to test whether intelligence and determination are enough to survive adulthood. Across all three films, Ringwald plays young women forced to become more responsible than the men around them, often while managing absent, broken or unreliable fathers. We discuss why she became the defining female face of 1980s teen cinema, how these movies have aged, and whether Hollywood ever truly understood what made her such a compelling star.Disclaimer: The following may contain offensive language, adult humor, and/or content that some viewers may find offensive – The views and opinions expressed by any one speaker does not explicitly or necessarily reflect or represent those of Mark Radulich or W2M Network.Mark Radulich and his wacky podcast on all the things:https://linktr.ee/markkind76alsohttps://www.teepublic.com/user/radulich-in-broadcasting-networkFB Messenger: Mark Radulich LCSWTiktok: @markradulichtwitter: @MarkRadulichInstagram: markkind76RIBN Album Playlist: https://suno.com/playlist/91d704c9-d1ea-45a0-9ffe-5069497bad59

It has been a long time since we have talked about the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But this week we have a lot to talk about. And it is more than just the Doomsday trailer and the upcoming Spider-Man movie. On the plus side, it seems like the MCU may be closer to the darker Marvel that people have dreamed about for years. That being said, we also heard that with the last Doctor Strange movie and The New Mutants. Only time will tell, but we are interested in what is happening. We have nothing against toilet humor and low hanging fruit. Troma is responsible for some of our favorite movies. And just generally speaking it is good to have a palette cleanser. Not every movie can be high art or a thrill a minute slasher. Bowels of Hell is a one joke movie. Literally. Every single gag in the Brazilian import is centered around shit. This is not the problem, however. It actually builds well to a pretty cool ending. But the ride there is an arduous one. In between the comedy are long stretches of exposition that fail deliver the message the movie seems to be trying to make. Adventures in Movies! is a part of the Morbidly Beautiful Podcast Network. We say farewell to Jennifer Jason Leigh for now with two more harrowing works: Georgia (1995), written by Leigh's mother, Barbara Turner, and directed by Ulu Grosbard, and Bastard Out of Carolina (1996), directed by Anjelica Huston and based on the semi-autobiographical novel by CSA survivor Dorothy Allison. We talk about the endless ambiguities of Georgia, a rare gripping dramatic work concerned with clashing ideas about art, and Bastard's queer perspective on patriarchal dynamics. Leigh again shows her talent for playing paradoxically resilient, self-destructive women. And in Fear and Moviegoing in Toronto we got to see the brand-new 4K restoration of Letty Lynton, which has not been seen in theatres or by any legal means in the nearly 100 years since the copyright ruling against it. This batshit Clarence Brown melodrama, brimming with sexual psychosis, surely must have gone a long way toward establishing the highly unique Joan Crawford sound-era screen persona.  Time Codes: 0h 00m 20s:    GEORGIA (1995) [dir. The AI industry spent the week arguing with itself, which is honestly the healthiest thing it's done in years. One coalition led by Nvidia begged regulators not to slow down open AI models, while more than 1,100 AI workers signed another letter asking regulators to do exactly that. Anthropic warned about bioweapons, OpenAI admitted the four-hour workweek isn't happening after all, and Microsoft's Satya Nadella reminded everyone that building your entire business on someone else's AI is a fantastic way to outsource your own brain. In other words, the people selling the future still can't agree on what they're selling, except that you'd better buy it fast.Meanwhile, the AI bubble keeps demanding sacrifices. Patreon, BuzzFeed, and Uber all swung the layoff axe while insisting AI isn't replacing humans... it's just reorganizing them out of a paycheck. Nvidia is floating another three-quarters of a trillion dollars in infrastructure deals that have people muttering "AI subprime mortgage crisis," China has discovered there's money in renting your face to AI companies, and the U.S. is carving data centers out of pollution rules because apparently acid rain is a small price to pay for chatbot dominance. Add in ChatGPT suddenly refusing to imitate famous authors, researchers discovering AI coding assistants are happily installing malware if you ask nicely, and Meta launching an ad campaign about the wonders of AI that somehow forgets to mention what any of those wonders actually are.Elsewhere in Tech Hell™, eBay finally paid the price for its executives' unhinged harassment campaign involving pig masks and live insects, Elon is shopping The Boring Company while promising money won't matter in the AI utopia of 2036, and a traveler is headed to court after allegedly triggering GrapheneOS's "duress PIN" during a border search. We also hit Media Candy with Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, Silo, Blade Runner 2099 and Neuromancer, celebrate Dave Bittner's birthday, marvel at Jason's ever-growing Boneyard of dead websites, and somehow end up discussing thermal cameras, piano repair, and old-man bladder supplements. Because that's what happens when Gen X gets older - we just add more tabs instead of closing the old ones.Sponsors:DeleteMe - Get 20% off your DeleteMe plan when you go to JoinDeleteMe.com/GOG and use promo code GOG at checkout.StoryBlocks - For a limited time, they're offering 15% off any annual plan at storyblocks.com/gogPrivate Internet Access - Go to GOG.Show/vpn and sign up today.
