Sometimes, the best conversations happen when there's no agenda. This is one of those moments. With London as the backdrop — its history, energy, and unpredictable charm — Sean and I sat on the grass in Hyde Park and hit record. No script, no plan. Just two friends talking about music, memories, meditation, and why we still believe in experiencing things without a phone between us and reality. From yoga poses on park benches to tales of Clapton at Royal Albert Hall and an upcoming Oasis reunion in Cardiff (yes, really), this is a meandering mix of thoughts and stories — like walking down Portobello Road not knowing what you'll find. We touch on the lost art of being present, why live music changes everything, and how the UK's cultural influence shaped our creative paths.Sure, we dip into punk, rock, film, and a few philosophical musings about why Florence isn't featured more in books and movies — but it's all under one theme: reconnecting with the world around us. It's a conversation that could only happen in a place like London — rich with culture, memories, and endless possibility. If you're tired of content that's too polished, too planned, or too promotional… this episode is a breath of fresh (sometimes damp) British air.⸻Hashtags:#storytelling, #london, #musiclovers, #meditation, #unscripted, #podcastlife, #travelstories, #creativelife, #liveinthemoment, #punkrockNew episodes drop when they drop. Day 2 - Movie Session - Strawberry Fields Festival 2025 - David HoffmeisterJoin us for an illuminating session at the Strawberry Fields Festival, where spiritual reflection and profound wisdom merge into a life-changing experience. In this thought-provoking movie commentary, David Hoffmeister explores a powerful passage from A Course in Miracles, reflecting on change as the greatest gift bestowed upon humanity. The greatest gift you could receive would be the ability to change your mind about your mind. He discusses the nature of transformation—from the illusion of separation to the remembrance of our eternal, changeless essence. David offers a profoundly simple yet revolutionary perspective: The only way out is the way in—into the Kingdom of Heaven within. This talk isn't about behavior modification or trying to appear saintly—it's about deep inner listening. By tuning in to the Holy Spirit, surrendering to the intuitive voice within, and dissolving worldly worries in the presence of divine guidance, we align with true peace. This week on Shat the Movies, we're getting spooky with Haunted Honeymoon (1986)! Join us for a hilarious look at this dark comedy starring Gene Wilder and Gilda Radner, where a newlywed couple finds themselves trapped in a spooky mansion filled with eccentric characters. Expect plenty of laughs, wacky moments, and a fun mix of mystery and comedy. If you're in the mood for a quirky, light-hearted romp, this is the episode for you! Plot SummaryIn the 1986 horror-comedy Haunted Honeymoon, Gene Wilder directs and stars alongside Gilda Radner and Dom DeLuise in a spooky screwball romp that blends classic Hollywood horror vibes with over-the-top farce. Wilder plays Larry Abbot, a popular radio drama actor with a case of the nerves, who travels to his family's eerie estate to marry his co-star and fiancée, Vickie Pearle (Radner). But what should be a romantic weekend quickly descends into madness when a series of bizarre, supernatural events threaten to derail their nuptials—and Larry's sanity. Set in a gothic mansion dripping with cobwebs, thunderstorms, and secret passages, the film follows Larry as he reunites with his delightfully kooky extended family. Dom DeLuise steals scenes in drag as the dramatic Aunt Kate, whose flair for the theatrical rivals anything Larry ever performed on the radio. As lightning flashes and bodies begin to pile up, it becomes clear that someone—or something—wants Larry dead before he can say “I do.” Haunted Honeymoon lovingly parodies old Universal monster movies while leaning heavily on slapstick and vaudeville-style humor. It's a strange cocktail of horror, comedy, and camp, buoyed by the real-life chemistry of Wilder and Radner (in what would be her final film role before her untimely death). The jokes may not all land, but the film's heart and atmosphere remain charming. Join our podcast review as we revisit this offbeat cult favorite, discuss its place in 80s horror-comedy, and debate whether it's a forgotten gem or a creaky clunker. WHO'S READY TO SEE I2I??? This week, Kicking & Streaming is unpacking one of Carie's long-time favorites A Goofy Movie (1995). A lighthearted, but deeper tale about Goofy's ability to raise a teenager. And yeah we get it, there will be cringe, but there will also be a lot of heart, and to Ross's chagrin, a lot of musical numbers. The siblings reflect on their own teenage experiences and how this move can actually bridge some generational divides. The Bible has a lot to say about God and his attributes, and it's easy to understand how some of these passages can be interpreted to paint God into an image similar to that of Oz. But is that accurate? Just as Dorothy and her friends learned the truth about Oz when they pulled back the curtain and had a face to face conversation with him, I think if we dig in and pull back the curtain a bit today, a better understanding of God's character will be revealed. Before we get to the reading, there are a few noteworthy announcements: -I finished a set of breaking training cards to help add an element of randomization to solo dance practices. Those are available on itch.io and are free to print out. I will make a physical version of the cards and an instructional video in the coming weeks but to anyone that might find them useful, they are available now. I ended up using animations that were originally made for a breaking game I tried to make about 20 years ago. -Speaking of animation, I made a pixelart animation for the song "Forward" to go with the release of Once Upon a Dream (6/13/25). That video is available here. This week's reading of the Rocketeer chapter accompanies the section of the film where things come to a climax over the skies of the Griffith Observatory. You can watch the exciting shootout here. So with cryptids on the mind, why not pop in theBigfoot-Jaws-rip-off film Creature From Black Lake (1976) to kill some time?!
