Crisis Prayer Rom 8:26-28#Nightlight #RTTBROS Romans 8:26-29 KJV - 26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. 27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. 28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. "What to pray when you don't know what to say": When we are in times of crisis in our lives and we are so broken and shattered that all we can say is "Oh God"...Oh God", it is important to remember that the Holy Spirit makes that prayer into a powerful petition to a God who cares. Romans 8:26-29 KJV says "Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose." When we don't know what to pray, we can ask for guidance and the power of grace to hear divine instructions. Pour out your heart to God, even if you don't understand what to pray, and trust that the Holy Spirit will intercede for you. Psalm 143:1 is a verse that can be prayed when you don't know what to pray ¹. One of the best ways to pray when you don't know what to say is to trust in God and lean on His Word. Immerse yourself in it. While fear may continue to show up for you, when you acknowledge and truly believe that God is in control, anything is possible. “When you don't know what to say, just say Jesus. There is power in the name, the name of Jesus. If the words won't come cause you're too afraid to pray, just say Jesus.” – Just Say Jesus from 7eventh Time Down Just as the words to the song say, there is power in the name of Jesus! Today's guest is someone who is probably a familiar face to so many of you who attend Desert Springs. We were so honored to have our friend and Worship Leader James Alexander in the studio with us. James faithfully leads each week in our 8am service and we're so thankful for his heart and ministry! James pours out his heart in today's interview and we know that you all will appreciate his vulnerability. James met his wife Tiffany on his first day of college. It was a love at first sight moment and their friendship quickly developed into a relationship that led to marriage. It is sweet to hear James describe the early days of their love and how they transitioned into parenthood shortly after being married. Over a decade had passed and James and Tiffany felt they had come to a place of healthy routine and rhythm in their life when suddenly life as they knew it came to a halt. Tiffany began having issues with her heart and after a few doctor's visits they discovered that the issues were quite serious - Tiffany was going to need open heart surgery. James walks us through what it was like to watch the person you love most in the world go through something so traumatic. He is incredibly open with us as he describes the lead up to the surgery, being in the waiting room for hours, sitting by her bedside and sticking through all of the recovery as it was a long road to trek. Though this was something his wife was going through, James experienced it in his own way as well. The marriage vows "in sickness and in health" became a true reality. He had to cling to Jesus and remember who his wife ultimately belonged to. We really appreciate James' vulnerability and willingness to share with all of us. As James encourages us, when you don't know what to say, just say Jesus. "Just Say Jesus" by 7eventh Time Down: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T8CLgiYZyZE90.3 Family Life Radio: https://www.myflr.org/phoenix-christian-music-radio-station/Would you please subscribe and leave us a review? More Than a Song - Discovering the Truth of Scripture Hidden in Today's Popular Christian Music

This week's song,  "Just Say Jesus" by 7eventh Time Down, is a wonderful anthem to all of us who have come to the end of our rope. The name of Jesus is a powerful representation of God and holds power in our lives. On today's episode we see proof of this power in Scripture. I hope you will release this same power in your life through the name of Jesus. On this week's episode I discuss: Taking a B.I.T.E. out of Scripture - this week's Bible Interaction Tool Exercises include: Read in context Follow the cross reference Use section headings to get your bearings An interview with the band from Creation West 2014 A mini-lesson from the lives of Peter and John found in Acts 3 The time when Peter and John are arrested in Acts 4 A name as authority Peter's cross-reference to Psalm 118 The enemy's tactic of limiting the use of the name of Jesus Jesus as the Way, the Truth and the Life - John 14:6  Additional Resources Lyrics This Week's Challenge If you have never called on the name of Jesus for salvation...there is no better time like the present...it's that simple. Then head over to Acts and start reading. Our main focus has been in chapter 3 and 4. Read them for yourselves, finish out chapter 4...it's a good one. I have also referenced Psalm 118. It is a lovely complement to what you will see in Acts.
