We’ve dealt with many aspects of the corporate music industry’s manipulations in this series, but under discussion this time is the whole area of Sound itself. What really is it, and how can it be used as a weapon against the masses? Here to offer some insights is ethno-musicologist Dr. Hans Utter, who listeners might be familiar with from his many appearances on Jan Irvin & Joe Atwill’s Unspun podcasts. We consider the way sound can be used for both healing, and to create unease and agitation on the part of the listener, all according to the frequencies involved. With a large part of the human body made of water, and water known to have a consciousness which is affected by sound, this stands to reason. We also consider how pop songs are now crafted as corporate commodities, and whether algorhythmic templates are now being employed, based on melodies and sound structures which are known to be appealing to the human psyche on an unseen level. And no conversation on these subjects would be complete without addressing the A=432 vs. A=440 standard tuning pitch debate.

Conscious music producer Long Lastin’, (who produced the theme music for this series) returns for his fourth GV appearance, as we discuss the ongoing agenda to debase and degrade mainstream ’hip’-hop’ output. While the manipulation of other music genres receives endless scrutiny, what’s being done to contemporary ‘hip-hop’ is rarely, if ever discussed. We get into what others won’t talk about - the blatantly obvious debasement of the sound frequencies in these recordings, and ask what unseen effects these could be having on those who consistently absorb them - particularly when combined with the degraded lyrical content, and the subliminal programming employed by their accompanying videos. Long Lastin’ gives his views on the sonic structures of four so-called ‘hip-hop’ bangers, included in this recording. Give these a listen if you’re unfamiliar with the output of this genre and consider how they make you feel. The intro and outro tracks on this podcast are from Long Lastin’s own album, ‘Illumi-Nation’, which offers inspiring truths through vocal samples set to to new, original beats. No stranger to Good Vibrations, conscious music producer and spiritual activist Kit Glover, aka Long Lastin', is back to mark the launch of his long-awaited album 'Illumi Nation', released through his own recently-formed Illumination Studios set-up. It's a concept album, taking vocal samples relating to all manner of subjects from the truth/ consciousness/ conspiracy fields, and setting them to new, original beats. The result, he explains, is designed to convey vital information in convenient, easily-digestible form, to those new to the subjects, as well as those more well-versed who would benefit from a recap. We discuss his process of choosing subject areas to focus on, and spent some time reflecting on the overall properties of sound vibration, and its ability to affect the brain-wave states and emotions of the listener depending on the frequencies involved. The podcast also features a handful of the key tracks. The album can be purchased directly from this link:https://longlastin.bandcamp.com/album/illumi-nation?fbclid=IwAR2TqPozs8cDkzeR45YjgbKRCyhqHQp8l6BVTpeAuWC3nFUkH-Wf_Cht_CI
