Illumination Studios upcoming feature film, Migration, will be accompanied by the short film Mooned, marking the return of the infamous Despicable Me villain, Vector, voiced by Jason Segel. Vector, introduced in the franchise's first film, is stranded on the moon, and Mooned follows his quest to find a way back home. The Despicable Me series, which began in 2010, has been a massive success, spawning sequels and spin-offs. The latest instalment, set to debut on December 22, will play alongside Mooned in theatres. The animated feature, Migration, tells the story of a duck family navigating New York City during their winter migration, featuring a star-studded cast. With a rich history of success, the Despicable Me franchise continues to captivate audiences, and the return of Vector adds an exciting element to the upcoming release.

It feels good to be back in the saddle talking about Christmas movies! This week we're talking about the 2018 adaptation of Dr. Seuss' "How The Grinch Stole Christmas," simply titled The Grinch. Produced by Illumination Studios (the house that Minions built), this film currently holds the title of Highest Grossing Christmas Film Ever. Home Alone held that title for 28 years until the right cartoon came out at the right time of year... But that doesn't mean there isn't plenty to discuss! In this episode we compare this film to the 2000 live-action abomination, question the need for licensing so many Christmas songs for five seconds apiece, and ponder the need to cast Benedict Cumberbatch to voice The Grinch. No stranger to Good Vibrations, conscious music producer and spiritual activist Kit Glover, aka Long Lastin', is back to mark the launch of his long-awaited album 'Illumi Nation', released through his own recently-formed Illumination Studios set-up. It's a concept album, taking vocal samples relating to all manner of subjects from the truth/ consciousness/ conspiracy fields, and setting them to new, original beats. The result, he explains, is designed to convey vital information in convenient, easily-digestible form, to those new to the subjects, as well as those more well-versed who would benefit from a recap. We discuss his process of choosing subject areas to focus on, and spent some time reflecting on the overall properties of sound vibration, and its ability to affect the brain-wave states and emotions of the listener depending on the frequencies involved.
