Roughing The Podcast episode 51 is here, and we slog through the preseason with the regular season on the horizon. In this episode: Ted and Di review the Seahawks game, and discuss the key position battles remaining. They end the position battles at left guard, which rolls into a discussion about Pat Elflein and his status. They also get in to a lengthy discussion about Cayleb Jones, and try as we might, we really are having a hard time getting fired up about the upcoming Titans game. As usual, we wrap the show with listener questions, including what we would do to ensure a Vikings SB win, the Aaron Rodgers extension, and the Teddy Bridgewater trade.

While there may be no true off-season in the NFL, there sure is in the land of Roughing The Podcast. Di and Ted return from the off-season hiatus, and jump dive stumble right in to a new season of RTP. And we are back to a weekly show from now until the end of the season. We kick off the show by discussing the offensive line, and how the death of Tony Sparano and the subsequent coaching changes could affect the team moving forward. From there, it’s the offensive line in general, and whether or not it’s time to hit the panice button with injuries. From there, we move to the pitched WR3 battle that looks like it’s becoming Laquon Treadwell’s to lose, and what expectations are for him moving forward. From there, we take listener questions, as a lot of them are training camp oriented. We discuss Richie Incognito, some more o-line talk, a quick take on Urban Meyer and the OSU situation, CB depth chart prediction, some Brandon Zylstra hot takes, and whether or not Kentrell Brothers and Cayleb Jones are still with the team after their suspensions are over. Finally, we wrap it up with a question about which current Vikings player could make the Hall of Fame (don’t laugh at Ted’s answer), and our two most depressing off-season sports headlines.
