This week on Sports Guyz Only Brian O'Neill's contract extension sets the tone for another lively episode as the guys debate whether the Vikings made the right move, leading to plenty of passionate opinions and a few memorable rants. Along the way, they swap stories about brutal fantasy football losses, gambling heartbreak, and the broke-college meals that somehow tasted like five-star cuisine at the time. From there, the conversation shifts to the NBA as LeBron James' reported move to Philadelphia sparks a debate about what could be his final superteam. The crew breaks down whether the 76ers become instant championship favorites, where the Timberwolves stack up in the title race, and why Anthony Edwards and Minnesota could be poised for another deep playoff run. They also rank their biggest contenders and discuss whether stars can truly change the culture of a team. The guys also dive into the Vikings' offseason, reacting to Jamal Adams signing in Minnesota, Harrison Smith's uncertain future, and whether Aaron Rodgers can still lead a team back to the playoffs. Plus, they brainstorm a punishment for this season's NFL pick'em competition that could leave the loser sporting some questionable gear. To close out the show, it's a rapid-fire round of buy-or-sell predictions before the conversation turns to FIFA, UEFA, and whether the growing commercialization of the World Cup is pushing international soccer in the wrong direction. Plus: •Fantasy football gambling disasters •The best broke-college meals ever created •NFL betting rules everyone should follow •Which professional sports team they'd buy with $20 billion •The best investment in sports ownership •Will MLB finally adopt a salary cap? •Could the NFL expand internationally? •The future of FIFA and the World Cup As always, it's NFL hot takes, NBA offseason debates, soccer talk, and enough laughs to keep the group chat going long after the microphones are off. July 29, 2026 - Season 17, Episode 1 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Wednesday morning show, Alex Kozora and I start by discussing the Pittsburgh Steelers reporting to Saint Vincent College in Latrobe on Tuesday for their 2026 training camp. We also talk about this episode being the first one of season 17. The Steelers placed DB Jalen Ramsey, CB Joey Porter Jr., and CB Donte Kent on the Active/PUP list on Tuesday, so Alex and I discuss those three transactions. We talk about Porter's situation and how his reported back issue might have been confused with a bank account contusion. I tell Alex why I am fine with Porter starting training camp on the PUP list even if it's related to his wait for a new contract. Steelers OT Broderick Jones has been cleared to practice at the start of training camp, so Alex and I discuss that positive news and what it means for him moving forward into the offseason. With Steelers GM Omar Khan, HC Mike McCarthy, QB Aaron Rodgers, WR DK Metcalf, and OLB T.J. Watt all addressing the media on Tuesday via press conferences, Alex and I make sure to recap the notable things said by each throughout this episode. There's a lot to go over when it comes to those five press conferences. Alex and I discuss how training camp reporting day was a lot different this year with McCarthy as the team's new head coach. During this show, Alex and I pass along the breaking news of Cleveland Browns CB Denzel Ward signing a very lucrative contract extension on Tuesday that results in him now being the highest-paid player in the NFL at his position. Later in this show, Alex and I look ahead to the Steelers' first training camp practice of 2026 that will take place on Wednesday. This 77-minute episode also discusses several other minor topics not noted in the recap above. steelersdepot.com Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

The pressure on Geno Smith keeps building as callers question whether he can make the Jets' expensive offense work. Tiki Barber points to Geno's 32 interceptions over the last two seasons and doubts he can recreate his Seattle success without the same depth at wide receiver. Evan Roberts argues that even a respectable version of Geno would still be a major upgrade for a franchise desperate to escape the bottom of the league. The conversation then turns to Garrett Wilson's staggering quarterback history. Evan and Tiki run through the long list of passers Wilson has played with, from Zach Wilson and Mike White to Aaron Rodgers, Tim Boyle and Trevor Siemian, exposing just how much instability the star receiver has endured.

Pat McAfee and Sophie Cunningham came up through the same Midwest city — a punter and a bench player — and became stars by doing one thing: picking a side and being real. Jason Whitlock, an Indianapolis native, breaks it down. Michael Jordan built an empire on "Republicans buy sneakers too" — stay neutral, offend no one. In 1991, it was genius. In 2026, it's a losing game. In the social media era, authenticity is the only asset that can't be faked. McAfee stood by Aaron Rodgers when it was a fireable offense.
