Walters' book is due out on Aug. 22. The Fire Pit Collective obtained the excerpt and its stunning allegations. They include Walters telling of a conversation in which Mickelson wanted him to bet $400,000 for him on the Americans winning the 2012 Ryder Cup. Mickelson played on that team. Walters says he talked him out of it. Mickelson said in a statement Thursday that he never bet on the Ryder Cup. Walters was sentenced to five years in prison for an insider trading case that involved Mickelson as a relief defendant. Detroit Lions Joint Practice A Success In this episode of the Detroit Lions Podcast, Chris and Jeff react to the first few weeks of Detroit Lions Training Camp including their joint practices against the New York Giants. It was nice for Lions players to get a break from the daily camp battles against their teammates and take out some of their frustrations on an opposing team. The Detroit Lions starters were able to have their way with the New York Giants, and it wasn't even close. Day 1 of joint practices was a great day for both the Lions offense and defense, with day two showing the strength of the Detroit Lions backup offensive line and more great plays and grabs by the Lions skill position players. CJGJ led the way on Tuesday with an incredible display of shaking players up through the power of the spoken (or shouted) work. He was in rare form, and fans got a front row seat to his derision of Amani Oruwariye. One thing for certain, this defense is here to play, and will not back down from anyone. The Detroit Lions offseason moves are looking better and better each day. Detroit Lions Podcast Training Camp Coverage On Point Covering the Detroit Lions week at Training Camp from both sidelines Chris and Jeff have it all for you this week, including the (as predicted) Teddy Bridgewater signing, who's been killing it in camp, who to watch in the Detroit Lions vs. New York Giants game on Friday, a look at "outside" media, and a discussion about "inside" media. It was Day 2 of the Detroit Lions joint practices with the NY Football Giants and the Lions defense did not have a great day. NYG QB Daniel Jones lit them up today. This was to be expected after Detroit's banner day on Tuesday. Jahmyr Gibbs and Sam LaPorta continue to impress as rookies. Also, Matt discusses the kicking situation, the secondary, and Teddy Bridgewater's contract which is very affordable and smart. #firstlisten Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! birddogs Go to birddogs.com/LOCKEDONNFL or enter promo code LOCKEDONNFL for a white tech hat with any order. The Big 12 is the most complete conference in college football and college basketball. The Baltimore Ravens are ready for a big year from Lamar Jackson. The Green Bay Packers will be very good at running the football. Also, the ACC could add Stanford and Cal in the coming days, the Detroit Lions added Teddy Bridgewater, the Baltimore Orioles indefinitely suspended play-by-play broadcaster Kevin Brown under confusing circumstances, the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the San Diego Padres in a high scoring game and the Boston Red Sox got a walk-off grand slam to beat the Kansas City Royals. First day of joint practices is in the books and the Lions take it to the Giants. Big day for the defense as they had great success, especially in goal line situations. Wideout Dylan Drummond also had a nice day yet again. We talk about that and also the signing of backup QB Teddy Bridgewater. This is not a surprise as Teddy reunites with Dan Campbell. The Lions also released their first unofficial depth chart. We talk about that and more. #firstlisten Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! birddogs Go to birddogs.com/LOCKEDONNFL or enter promo code LOCKEDONNFL for a white tech hat with any order. Tons of news surrounding the Detroit Lions on this Monday before the NY Giants come in for joint practices. Twitter was buzzing today and we have heard that there is a good chance that Teddy Bridgewater news could be coming soon. Teddy visited the Lions a few weeks ago. Nate Sudfeld had a very bad practice on Saturday, so we will see. Also, Jared Goff took a few swipes at the Detroit media for negativity the other day. We discuss that. Also, no Jameson Williams at practice on Saturday. Where was he? Lions also made a couple of roster moves today and Matt discusses a new alternate broadcast for Friday night vs The Giants.
