Electronica/Tech House/Deep House/Soundtrack. This is a live studio mix of some of the fun tunes I've enjoyed playing in the latter half of 2019. I've gotta thank the Polish Rastafarian Jacob, Graeme's pal, for tracks 2-4. He played them at Resurrection Spirits and I loved them but the recording of his mix was shite so I brought them together somewhat for this mix. The rest is inspired a lot by Sentre, who have been producing some amazing tracks and Sasha's Last Night on Earth podcast and label. Some great tracks on here. One iffy mix in there but left it in for posterity's sake ;-) Which one is it? Also, keep an ear out for the movie samples in there. Can you name them? There are about a dozen. Let me know in the comments... Sentre - Canadian Vibes, Yuksek feat. Polo & Pan - Cadenza, Crowd Control - If You Like, Kiu D - Deep in My House, Purple Disco Machine - Emotion, Robert Surace - Joys, Lawrence Hart & Casually There - Swimming Up, Ben Bohmer - Purple Line, Sentre - Enterprise, Roy Rosenfeld - The Biggest Heart, Sentre - U & Me, Cebb - Solar Path, Tibi Dabo - Nowhere Beach, Sasha - Comet Chaser, La Fleur - Aphelion (Effy Mix), Caribou - Sun (Kastis Torrau and Arnas'D Remix), Hans Zimmer - Time (Tale of Us Mix)
One half of the esteem Israeli imprint Asymmetric Recordings (with Lonya), Maydan has seen his releases grace Sudbeat and Beat Boutique, and of course on his own imprint. Here he releases his debut for Dale Middletons fine Tarnished Tracks. 'Global Village' is a quality affair, plenty of drive, owed to its driving percussion, plus underpinned by growling bass sounds and quirky vocals and a dreamy arp. Solid Stuff! 'Formel' step up on remix duties. With productions of Sincopat, BeatFreak and Sasha's Last Night on Earth, these boys take us on a melodic techno voyage. utilising the main elements from the original superbly, but adding deep emotive vibes and packing a deep solid workout. Rounding off the package is a homage to Israelis' 'Tel Aviv'. A musical hotbed and shrouded in history. here we find a swirly cacophony of deep dancefloor devastation.

Armed with unwavering persistence, the idiosyncratic and self-critical Alex Niggemann has had a remarkable career so far, with the future still as bright as ever. Not many artists can attest to suddenly finding themselves sitting on Resident Advisor's 'Top 20 Charted Artists' after a friend submitted some of their work to labels without their approval. But this is exactly what happened to Alex, leading him to release on various labels from Audiofly’s Supernature imprint to Nick Curly‘s 8bit Records, and even establishing his own label, Soulfooled (followed by his second label, AEON, in 2013). Alex's heavy-duty Materium EP, released on Steve Bug's prolific Poker Flat, dominated the charts last year and sat in RA's Top 50 for weeks after it's initial release. Other notable releases of late include the excellent Earth Symphony EP on Sasha's Last Night on Earth, and also the hypnotic single 'Sorrow' on Watergate Recordings. For Alex's Balance Selections podcast you can look forward to some beautiful tracks from labels like Kompakt, Objektivity and Alex's own Soulfooled label en route to more darker cuts from acts like Rødhad and Barnt. It is very clear that what has been a sprawling journey for Alex to date is far from coming to an end.
