This week on the New Music Business podcast, Ari sits down with Adam Gross, the president of Ineffable Records. Adam founded Ineffable Records in 2019 and later became a co-owner of Ineffable Music Group, now Billboard's top independent reggae label for six consecutive years. Ineffable works with artists such as Stick Figure, Collie Buddz, Protoje, The Elovaters, and O.A.R., and many more.In this episode, they discuss the recent unauthorized viral AI remixes of Stick Figure's song “Angels Above Me.” At its peak, the unauthorized remix was #2 on the global Shazam charts and reached #1 on several different iTunes charts across Europe. They discuss the legal challenges of unauthorized AI remixes, the ethical considerations, and how the story led to a David Guetta x Alok version surfacing. Adam discusses the operational reality of dealing with this in real time, and how strategy to combat unauthorized AI remixes changes everyday.Follow Adam Gross:https://www.instagram.com/adam.g.r.o.s.s/https://www.linkedin.com/in/adamgross2018/Check out Stick Figure:https://stickfigure.com/https://www.instagram.com/stickfiguremusic/Chapters05:07 Navigating Copyright in the Age of AI10:03 The Bootleg Remix Phenomenon14:58 The Role of Labels and Distributors19:59 Ethics and Future of AI in Music25:07 Navigating Major Label Deals28:24 The Impact of Viral Trends on Music30:43 Whack-a-Mole: The Challenge of Unauthorized Remixes32:30 Collaborating with Major Artists36:51 Ethics and AI in Music Production39:35 The Future of Derivative Works42:36 User-Centric Payment Models in Streaming50:52 Building Timeless Music and CommunityEdited and mixed by Ruben ZarateMusic by Brassroots DistrictProduced by the team at Ari's TakeOrder the THIRD EDITION of How to Make It in the New Music Business: https://book.aristake.com Hosted on Acast. Join Here: https://ow.ly/msoH50WCu0K In this segment of Notorious Mass Effect, Analytic Dreamz delivers a deep breakdown of the Kanye West “Silver Night (Седая Ночь)” AI viral phenomenon that took over the internet in 2026.Analytic Dreamz explores how fan-made AI voice-cloning technology created a convincing English-language version of the Russian 90s classic “Седая Ночь” originally performed by Yuri Shatunov of Laskovyy May. The segment covers the track's explosive spread across YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and Russian platforms, featuring creators like August Septemberov and Davuiside.Listeners will hear about the most popular versions — including the 1.9 million-view “Live at SoFi Stadium” upload, rapid GANG remixes, club edits, and deep-house variations — paired with real Kanye concert footage. The discussion examines why it reached No. 1 on Global Shazam, outperformed major artists, and generated tens of millions of combined views despite being completely unofficial.Analytic Dreamz also analyzes the cultural crossover between Kanye's style and Russian nostalgia, its real-world impact including Jason Derulo playing it in Moscow, and what this AI trend reveals about music discovery in 2026.Privacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

The Brazilian-American novelist says she never had to claim her Latina identity because “it embraced me” as she grew up bilingual, bicultural, and multinational. On tour for her latest novel, The Air You Breathe, de Pontes Peebles tells Alicia about wrestling with the tension between needing time and space to create while meeting the demands of being a dedicated mother. She also recounts difficult scenes from her postpartum depression and how the act of telling someone saved her. Writing continues to save her, and she guards her gift ritualistically, including her tradition to “let the wall be empty for a while.” Follow Frances on Twitter @chiquinhapeebles. How much of each us gets excluded when we constantly compare ourselves to one another, and to the expectations we're handed by our culture. And how much we exclude the gifts of others by the very same process. Is there a way we could give up inappropriate comparison and in so doing learn to include so much more everyone's talents and gifts, and the supportive ground of life itself? In this conversation we talk about different kinds of learning, mischief, the attitudes we take that portray us as 'better than' or 'worse than' others, and what it is to deeply and gladly welcome the many kinds of difference and intelligence that are available in the world. This week's Turning Towards Life is from May 2023, remixed and represented as we are in the midst of teaching the final session of this year's Professional Coaching Course. You're familiar with Loggins and Messina, of course. Hall and Oates. Seals and Crofts. Famous “dudettes” of the 70s, as previously covered here on the pod (with the assistance of John O'Grady, who brought the term into our collective consciousness).Well what about the 80s? Did our other favorite decade also have a brand of dudettes all its own? And is that somehow relevant to our two prior episodes? Is this the third chapter in that story arc, perhaps, lying in wait?Let's take a closer listen..JUST ANNOUNCED: “The Inner Circle” - a special opportunity afforded to $upporters of the podcast. On The Literary Life today we continue our re-airing of a series from our "Summer of the Short Story" that originally aired way back in Season 1 of the podcast! This week's episode features Angelina Stanford and Cindy Rollins discussing G. K. Chesterton's essay "A Defence of Penny Dreadfuls." Angelina opens with a brief history of the Victorian era and the more prevalent availability of the novel to the masses. She also gives several examples of the "penny dreadful." Cindy and Angelina discuss why they agree with Chesterton that people need these simple, even formulaic stories. They remind us that childhood is a time for good books, not a time to worry about reading all the "Great Books." Another topic that Cindy and Angelina chat about is the importance of developing imagination. They talk about the truth that fiction and story-telling are necessary parts of human culture. Cindy highlights the importance of the heroic adventure stories for boys. Angelina brings out the point that the elite critic is out of touch with the masses who long for stories of good winning over evil. The penny dreadful should not be judged as art, since that was never what it was intended to be. If you want to find replays of the 2019 Back to School online conference referenced in this episode, you can purchase them in Cindy's shop at MorningTimeforMoms.com. You can also find out about all the current classes and summer events happening at HouseofHumaneLetters.com. For the full show notes on this episode, please visit https://theliterary.life/332.

TV time is very important for wrestlers, especially in the big promotions stateside. If you're regularly featured on a wrestling TV show, where all the main storylines and action are happening, that means you're in the mix and making a name for yourself, as opposed to just sitting in the back doing nothing or stuck in dark matches. On this episode, Andrew and returning guest Angry216 (VOW Discord) get some TV time themselves by playing theme songs to some of their favorite TV shows. Shows discussed include Twin Peaks, The Wire, BoJack Horseman, In Living Color, Veronica Mars, Scrubs, KaBlam!, Halt and Catch Fire, and many more. What if Noah's Ark is not really about a floating zoo? In this episode of Sunday School Remix, Pastor Nate looks at Genesis 6–9 and explores how this familiar childhood story is actually about God's grief over human violence, the undoing and restarting of creation, and the promise God makes through the rainbow. This is not a simple kids' story. It is a story about violence, mercy, covenant, memory, and the hope that God does not abandon creation, even when humanity loses its way. What You'll LearnSee why Noah's Ark is more than a cute Sunday school storyUnderstand how the flood story connects to the creation story in GenesisExplore why violence grieves the heart of GodLearn what it means that “God remembered Noah”Reflect on the rainbow as a sign of covenant, peace, and promiseChapters:00:00 — What if Noah's Ark is not about a floating zoo?00:45 — Why this story is harder than we remember02:00 — God's grief over human violence03:20 — Ancient flood stories and the biblical meaning of Noah05:15 — How the flood undoes creation07:00 — Noah, Moses, water, and salvation08:30 — “God remembered Noah”10:30 — The dove, the olive branch, and signs of peace11:20 — The rainbow as covenant12:00 — God hangs up the bow13:00 — What Noah's Ark asks of us today14:00 — The story does not end at Sunday schoolIf this conversation helped you hear an old Bible story in a new way, like this video, subscribe to Bethany Lutheran Church, and share it with someone who might be wrestling with faith, scripture, or the stories they learned growing up.Connect with Bethany:

This week on The Literary Life we begin revisiting a series from our "Summer of the Short Story" that originally aired way back in Season 1 of the podcast! Today we return to Episode 11, in which Angelina and Cindy enjoyed a discussion of the short story "Araby" by James Joyce. Delving into "Araby," Angelina talks about the history and development of the short story form. Cindy gives a little of her own background with reading James Joyce and why she loves his short stories. Angelina and Cindy also discuss the essential "Irishness" of this story and all the tales in The Dubliners. Angelina walks us through the story, highlighting the kinds of questions and things we should look for when reading closely. Themes discussed in this story include: blindness and sight, light and darkness, romanticism, religious devotion, the search for truth, money, courtly love, and the knight's quest. If you want to find replays of the 2019 Back to School online conference referenced in this episode, you can purchase them in Cindy's shop at MorningTimeforMoms.com. You can also find out about all the current classes and summer events happening at HouseofHumaneLetters.com. Check out the schedule for the podcast's summer episodes on our Upcoming Events page.
