We’re closing out this strange year with a “big-picture” episode: editor & critic Dan Hartland is on to talk about trends and directions—or lack thereof—in recent speculative fiction. We talk about the interesting spread of books & awards this year, do some armchair speculating about genre shifts & their accompanying arguments, and have some very insider-baseball discussion of what gets reviewed (or not) and why. And, of course, Dan and Casella talk about their favorite reads from 2025. Podcasts, reviews, interviews, essays, and more at the Ancillary Review of Books. Please consider supporting ARB’s Patreon! Federal officials disclosed that more than one million previously unidentified documents tied to the Jeffrey Epstein investigation were recently located, dramatically expanding the known universe of Epstein-related records. According to the Department of Justice, the files were discovered during a broader records review involving the FBI and federal prosecutors, after Congress had already mandated the release of Epstein materials under new transparency legislation. The DOJ said the size and scope of the newly found cache forced a pause in the release timeline, as attorneys must now determine what falls within the law, what can legally be disclosed, and what must be redacted—particularly material involving victims, sealed proceedings, or sensitive investigative information. The revelation immediately fueled skepticism and backlash, especially from Epstein survivors and transparency advocates who argue the discovery raises serious questions about how such a massive volume of material went unaccounted for in the first place. Critics say the announcement reinforces long-standing concerns that Epstein's case has been mishandled, slow-walked, or fragmented across agencies for decades, allowing crucial evidence to remain buried. Rather than reassuring the public, the sudden emergence of over a million files has intensified demands for oversight, hearings, and independent review, with many questioning whether the delay is a logistical reality—or yet another chapter in the ongoing failure to fully confront the Epstein network and its institutional protectors.to  contact  me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.com

Just days ago on December 27, she electrified Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, Florida, for the first of three straight Up Close and Personal dates through December 29, as confirmed by Billboard via AOL and Ticketmaster listings, with fans raving over live clips of hits like Whenever, Wherever and Girl Like Me circulating on YouTube from the Miami-area kickoff. A full recap of her December 28 Hard Rock performance is already buzzing online via YouTube highlights. On December 27, ABC News GMA Life aired a prime interview with Shakira dishing on her voice role in the smash hit Zootopia 2, cementing her crossover animation stardom alongside a 2025 year-in-review segment. Meanwhile, El Salvador is in frenzy after her historic residency there exploded, originally three February dates in San Salvador selling out in under 24 hours on December 17, prompting her to add two more on December 22, as she announced on her official X account and confirmed by El Salvador in English and UPI, with President Bukele hailing the sellout as a national triumph.Socially, Shakira responded warmly to Dua Lipas surprise Colombia tribute, per AOL, fueling fan speculation of a collab amid Lipas latest posts. Whispers from Times of India government sources hint her team is eyeing an Ahmedabad, India gig, but thats unconfirmed buzz with no official word. No major business deals or other public spottings surfaced this week, keeping the spotlight on her unstoppable tour dominance and media glow-up.Get the best deals https://amzn.to/3ODvOtaThis content was created in partnership and with the help of Artificial Intelligence AI

Join Sandra for a breathtaking conversation with Heather Vandermeyden, a woman who didn't just have one Near-Death Experience—she had a series of them. At just twenty years old, Heather faced a catastrophic medical crisis (ulcerative colitis, sepsis, and organ failure) that kept her in the ICU for three months. While her body withered away to 79 pounds and endured thirteen emergency surgeries, her spirit was busy traveling beyond the veil. In this episode, Heather details the more than twenty times she popped out of her body to escape the pain. She shares vivid descriptions of the "Ancient Healing Waters" that saved her liver, a visit to a Hall of Records (the Library), and a heartwarming reunion with her deceased grandmother and great-grandfather. She also describes seeing God stand in the doorway of the hospital room—a being of pure, non-judgmental love with vibrant blue eyes. Perhaps most miraculously, Heather describes meeting two specific children on the other side. Years later, unable to carry a pregnancy due to her surgeries, she fostered and adopted two children who matched the exact description of the souls she met in Heaven. The brewing of this beer involves an airplane trip across the Rockies to collect freshly picked hops from Billy Goat Hop Farm in Montrose, Colorado. Henry stories).Abigail mentioned that Stuck at the Airport by Money Mark is thematically similar to I'll Be Home for Christmas by Bing Crosby. This is one of the songs Abigail will frequently be compelled to listen to when her life circumstances match the lyrics of the song - the other one is It's Only Wednesday by Crash Kings. The Man in the Santa Suit by Neil Halstead reminded Abigail of Father Christmas by The Kinks. We played a little sample of Matt Nathanson's cover of Father Christmas, which appears on our 2022 Christmas playlist!Abigail did not recognize that Rogue Wave's Christmas was a cover of the Who song from Tommy. She compared the lyrics to Do They Know It's Christmas? by Band Aid.Barry compared Jack Johnson's variant lyrics in Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer to many of the songs on the Straight No Chaser album we reviewed in last year's Christmas episode, Christmas Beers (Straight No Chaser and Gifted Beers).Abigail, per usual, got Silent Night confused with O Holy Night.Listen to our 2025 Christmas playlist!Up next… Touch by EurythmicsJingles are by our friend Pete Coe.Visit Anosmia Awareness for more information on Barry's condition.Follow Barry or Abigail on Untappd to see what we're drinking when we're not on mic!Leave us a rating or a review on Apple Podcasts or Spotify!Facebook | Instagram | Bluesky | YouTube | Substack | Website | Email us | Virtual Jukebox | Beer Media Group

In this final episode before Christmas, CannCon and Ashe in America break down a busy and consequential week in election integrity news. The conversation centers on the Department of Justice lawsuit against Fulton County over access to 2020 election records and the explosive response from Mark Elias and allied organizations attempting to block transparency. The hosts dissect the legal arguments being made to keep ballots, envelopes, and election materials sealed, explaining why those claims conflict with civil rights law and long standing record retention requirements. The episode also revisits Colorado election battles, federal pressure through funding leverage, the Tina Peters case and appeal timeline, and emerging RICO implications tied to immigration, NGOs, and cartel activity. Along the way, CannCon and Ashe reflect on how years of dismissed concerns are now resurfacing publicly, why scrutiny is increasing rather than fading, and what these legal showdowns mean for future election accountability.

Susie explains why raccoons might become the next domesticated animals, why they seem to be ushering in their pet era, and why experts are convinced it's inevitable. We discuss the new female test dummy (or smartie as Susie calls her), and why it took so long to get it made, why people still aren't happy, and why it's so expensive to make. We're mad at the Guinness World Book of Records again because of their evolving business model and the schemes they're using to make bank.
