In near-perfect conditions following a week of brutal French heat, Sunday's Paris Diamond League produced three Diamond League records.In this episode:– Audrey Werro came to Paris explicitly targeting the women's 800m world record and ran a personal best of 1:53.80 — a Diamond League record, meet record, world lead, and Swiss national record. Werro is 0.52 back.– Femke Broeders-Bol's 800m transition is real. The reigning 400m hurdles world champion ran 1:55.60 in the 800m — a massive personal best — finishing second behind Werro's Diamond League record. Her move to the 800m is no longer an experiment.– Cam Myers ran 3:28.00 in the Paris Diamond League 1500m — a personal best by over a second, the 27th fastest time in history, and faster than Jakob Ingebrigtsen at the same age (Jakob ran 3:28.68 at 20). Glitterhouse Records est un label indépendant allemand né au début des années 1980, issu à l'origine d'un fanzine consacré au garage rock et aux scènes alternatives. Très vite, le projet évolue vers une activité de vente par correspondance, puis vers une structure de distribution, avant de devenir officiellement un label en 1984. Cette transformation marque les bases d'un futur label indépendant solidement ancré dans l'underground européen. À la fin des années 1980, Glitterhouse joue un rôle important dans la diffusion du rock indépendant américain en Europe. Il devient notamment partenaire du label Sub Pop, associé à l'émergence du grunge à Seattle, et participe à la circulation de groupes majeurs comme Mudhoney, The Afghan Whigs ou Codeine. Cette période lui donne une forte visibilité internationale et renforce son identité tournée vers la scène alternative américaine. Le label est également lié à la diffusion du noise rock à travers sa collaboration avec Amphetamine Reptile, et soutient des formations aux esthétiques plus radicales ou expérimentales comme Helmet, Cows ou Monster Magnet. Parallèlement, il développe progressivement son propre catalogue en signant des artistes issus de scènes alternatives et expérimentales. À partir du milieu des années 1990, Glitterhouse élargit encore son champ artistique en devenant un label éclectique, mêlant indie rock, folk sombre, songwriting et post-rock. Historians have identified three primary hypotheses for when this authority was conferred by Peter, James, and John: June 1829: The traditional narrative, though it lacks contemporary evidence. July 1830: An account involving a nighttime escape from persecution between Colesville and Harmony. June 1831: Records from a special church conference suggest the high priesthood was manifested and conferred “for the first time” over a year after the Church was organized. This presentation relies heavily on Michael Quinn‘s research in his book Origins of Power. Forgotten Black Pioneers Contrary to popular belief, the early Church under Joseph Smith featured a “flat” authority structure where Black men were ordained to the priesthood. Pioneers like Elijah Abel, a faithful member of the Seventy, and Joseph Ball, who served as a branch president in 1844, prove that the “one-drop rule” did not exist in the Church’s earliest days. These men served missions and received temple ordinances decades before the restriction was codified. 1852 Pivot The priesthood ban was not a founding tenet but a mid-19th-century shift. In 1852, amid a legislative struggle in the Utah Territory regarding slavery, Brigham Young declared that “a man who has the African blood in him cannot hold one jot nor tit of priesthood.” This declaration marked the formal beginning of a century of restriction, often justified by theories—now officially disavowed—such as the “Curse of Cain” or the idea that Black members were “less valiant” in the premortal life. Brazil Temple: A Tipping Point The path to the 1978 revelation (Official Declaration 2) was heavily influenced by the Church’s global expansion. The construction of the Sao Paulo Brazil Temple in 1975 created a “dilemma”: faithful Black and mixed-race members were funding and building a temple they would be barred from entering. This reality, combined with years of prayerful supplication by President Spencer W. Kimball, led to the “hallowed and sanctified” moment in the Salt Lake Temple that finally extended priesthood and temple blessings to all worthy members. Moving Toward Unity Today, the Church unequivocally condemns all racism and rejects the past explanations used to justify the ban. The goal of the restoration remains one of redemption and connection, inviting all of God’s children—regardless of race or gender—to walk the covenant path together. Jeffrey Epstein's access to the White House began during Bill Clinton's first administration, when he moved through Washington as a wealthy donor and well-connected financial operator rather than as the notorious sex offender he would later become. Records show that Epstein visited the Clinton White House repeatedly during the 1990s, attended a reception with Ghislaine Maxwell and cultivated relationships with officials, fundraisers and people operating around the administration. His association with Clinton continued after the presidency through overseas travel aboard Epstein's aircraft and contacts linked to Clinton's philanthropic work. The importance of those connections is not that every person who encountered Epstein participated in or knew about his crimes, but that Epstein successfully embedded himself within the political establishment and acquired the appearance of legitimacy that comes from proximity to a president. His access was never confined to one party, one administration or one ideological circle; it was built around money, influence and the willingness of powerful people to treat him as useful.That pattern ultimately extended from the Clinton era into the political world surrounding Donald Trump, who socialized with Epstein in Palm Beach and New York years before returning to the White House for a second term. Even after Epstein's 2019 arrest and death, his shadow remained inside presidential politics, as successive Justice Departments, White House officials and members of Congress fought over what records should be released, how his associates should be investigated and whether the public had been told the complete truth. By 2025 and 2026, the Epstein controversy had become a source of turmoil within the Trump administration itself, with officials facing accusations of secrecy, political damage control and preferential treatment for Ghislaine Maxwell. In that sense, Epstein's “friends at the White House” should be understood less as one continuous group than as a recurring class of political insiders who entered his orbit, benefited from his hospitality or treated his connections as valuable.     Recently I was messaging with LLM guest mixer, Roquen Lómë, about Type records - an experimental record label that was active from 2003 to 2013. Founded by John Twells & Stefan Lewandowski in the U.K., Type released some creative music in those ten years ranging from delicate piano to sculptured noise to glitchy electronica to ambient to psych folk. I thought it would be fun to create a mix of music from Type records catalog - then I looked at that catalog and, wow they sure did release a ton of music. There's no way to make an exhaustive review of their releases so I decided to go chronologically through some of my favorites. That still only scratched the surface, I think I have more than 40 Type records in my collection.  It was nice listening to some of the recordings for the first time in years and I hope you too enjoy this little trip into the past. Benjamin L. Carp notes that in 1783, a formal British inquiry led by General Guy Carleton failed to reach a definitive conclusion on whether the fire was an accident or intentional design. The records of this inquiry were lost to official British archives for over a century. Over time, American historians and biographers sought to exonerate Washington, often downplaying the fire or blaming "bad apples" rather than a coordinated military plot. Despite the strong circumstantial evidence of rebel involvement, the event remains an unresolved chapter of the American Revolution, with both sides eventually letting the controversy fade in favor of diplomacy. Three more collegiate records fell on the final day of the 2026 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, bringing the total for the most insane week anyone has ever seen to nine.Dejanea Oakley and Adaejah Hodge, who are roommates for the week, both smashed the NCAA records for 400m and 200m, respectively, putting up 20 points for the eventual team champion Georgia Bulldogs.
