It's a return to our faithful hosts duelling it out with their respective Top 5 selections this week, and it's one to grab yourself some popcorn and snacks for as Dave and Adam take a look at some songs that have turned to the silver screen to elevate themselves in one way or another.Speaking of silver screen, Dave will be returning to the Film Club with Andy McCarroll and special guest Lucien Waugh Daly over on the NO ENCORE Patreon, to discuss the wild, wacky and wonderful(?) Mrs. Doubtfire in what could be the greatest Film Club episode to date. And if you just can't wait for that, Adam's Album Club putting the magnifying glass to Deftones' White Pony with recent guest and Deftones scholar Danny Kilmartin will surely tide you over until then – an hour and forty minutes of pure analysis and, if I do say so, some great conversation.Let's all go to the lobby!ACT ONE: The preamble, in which, of course, we ramble.ACT TWO (8:03): Timothée Chalamet is under fire for dissing opera and ballet and we have plenty of commentary, including from our own ballet correspondent, Charlie Puth hitches his horse to the AI wagon alongside Boy George, Celta Vigo and Madonna are engaged in talks and Kid Rock just can't seem to catch a break – it's the news.ACT THREE (42:14): Top 5 Songs With Movie Samples Hosted on Acast. The condition of your heart serves as spiritual soil that determines whether God's word takes root and produces fruit in your life. Just as farmers test soil conditions to maximize their harvest, we need to examine our hearts to understand what prevents us from experiencing God's fullness. Your words and actions are like fruit that reveals your true heart condition - what comes out when you're under pressure shows what's really inside. Jesus taught about four types of spiritual soil through the parable of the sower. The wayside represents a hard heart that cannot receive God's word due to consistent resistance to His conviction. The stony places represent a shallow heart that receives the word with joy but lacks depth because stones of unforgiveness, bitterness, and offense prevent deep roots. The thorny places represent a distracted heart where worldly concerns, career obsession, constant worry, and pursuit of wealth choke out spiritual growth. Finally, good ground represents a healthy heart that hears, understands, and produces abundant spiritual fruit. The encouraging truth is that soil conditions aren't permanent. You can move from one type to another based on your choices. To maintain healthy spiritual soil, you must deal with hardness through repentance, remove stones of bitterness and unforgiveness, and pull weeds of distraction and worldly cares. This requires intentional heart maintenance - giving attention to God's words, guarding your speech, keeping your focus on His path, and removing yourself from evil influences.

1 Chron 21-29 mark the final days of David's life according to the Chronicler. He spends this time making all provisions and preparations necessary for the future construction of the Temple under Solomon. These narratives further reveal that the site and worship of the Temple is a completion and fulfillment of the promises under the previous covenants with Abraham and Moses. Search traffic is down, referral traffic is drying up, platforms are changing their rules, people are evaluating what to do…and what's next.Emily Kirkpatrick is one of these people. She left a big, recognizable job in dramatic fashion, went fully independent, and built a real living on Substack and YouTube. No ads. No corporate overhang. Just her voice, her point of view, and a direct relationship with her audience. We talk about the economics of independence. What happens when traffic disappears. And why so many writers, creators, and journalists are fleeing big institutions in favor of owning their work and their audiences. We also get into taste. Celebrity fashion. Stylists. Publicists. Rage bait. Samples that do not fit. The strange incentives that shape what we see on red carpets and why so much of it feels off. And how being honest about what you actually like is harder and more valuable than chasing relevance. This is WORK. Conversations. Get full access to WORK at erikaayersbadan.substack.com/subscribe
The Memphis artist also known as Cities Aviv delivers 60 minutes of stirring electronics and industrial abstractions. Since his first release in 2010, Gavin Mays, AKA African-American Sound Recordings and Cities Aviv, has been living multiple lives. The D.O.T. label boss has put out work under various aliases, spanning post-hip-hop, ambient electronics and soul-inflected abstraction, consistently challenging and rearranging the scope of every genre he works within. African-American Sound Recordings is Mays' "side project"—as hobbies go, it's a formidable one. Since its launch in 2019, he's released ten albums built from a dense palette of samples: distorted voices drift alongside warm currents of jazz and acoustic instrumentation, painting ambient vignettes that swerve between the serene and the industrial. It's no coincidence that Mays cites Sunday service as a formative space. Samples of gospel worship and memories of communal ritual are the fil rouge running through the project, reimagining Black musical traditions as a living system. RA.1024 has one of the shortest tracklists in the series to date: three total. The final two tracks, gospel recordings ripped from his own CD collection, arrive like sunlight breaking through the clouds. The legacy project and podcast Build Upon The Good is beginning the next chapter. After losing both of his parents to cancer in less than four years, and hearing his father's inspiring deathbed legacy talk about inheriting and passing down the good, Kean started this in 2020 to hear others share what "good" they hope to pass down. Building upon all the amazing guests throughout the years, and Kean's own professional experience as a family wealth advisor for two decades, the show will enter a new phase. Build Upon The Good won't live in the abstract. The podcast and project is about action and walking with intent for good. So, we'll continue to have inspiring guests share their stories and, more importantly, also share what they're actually doing to pass down their good. We'll introduce new segments and episode formats, including shorter episodes highlighting charities and organizations bringing real good to the world. We'll also highlight some people long gone that history may have forgotten, but we won't. We'll share their stories too. We're excited for what's to come. Thank you for sharing this mission. Follow www.BuildUponTheGood.com and on Facebook and Instagram. Although their music isn't in this specific episode, a continued special thanks to Sean Kelly and his band The Samples for permission to use "Streets in the Rain." Follow them at www.TheSamples.com

In this episode of Mastering eCommerce Marketing, host Eitan Koter sits down with Talor Ofer, founder of Retail Empire, to talk about what it really takes for brands to get into brick and mortar retail in the US.Talor has spent more than 25 years working directly with retail buyers and helping brands move from online-only sales into physical stores. Talor also breaks down pricing expectations, common mistakes that slow deals down, and how brands should think about wholesale, packaging, and supply chain before approaching buyers. If you're running a DTC brand, selling on Amazon, or thinking about wholesale for the first time, this episode gives a clear look at how retail actually works, straight from someone who's in those conversations every day.Website: https://www.vimmi.net Email us: info@vimmi.net Podcast website: https://vimmi.net/mastering-ecommerce-marketing/ Talk to us on Social:Eitan Koter's LinkedIn | Vimmi LinkedIn | YouTube Guest: Talor Ofer, Founder at Retail EmpireTalor Ofer's LinkedIn | Retail EmpireWatch the full Youtube video here:https://youtu.be/f6-nuwE5-NATakeaways:Retail is a crucial channel for brands, despite the rise of D2C.Brands must ensure they have a solid supply chain before entering retail.Packaging is key; it should communicate the product's value quickly.Retail buyers are looking for brands with a compelling story.Fast decision-making is becoming more common among retail buyers.Pricing strategies are evolving due to market competition and tariffs.Samples are essential for securing orders from retailers.Understanding the setup process with retailers is critical for success.Brands should be aware of market trends to stay relevant.Loyalty and honesty are foundational for long-term business relationships.Chapters:00:00 Introduction to...
GLP-1s are in every medical conversation right now. In this episode, I slow the conversation down and ask a harder question: what are we actually trading for rapid weight loss? I sat down with Zeke Samples to examine why so many patients are drawn to appetite suppression and quick fixes. We explored what doesn't always make it into the exam room conversation and the downstream effects of relying on pharmacology without building sustainable habits. We also discussed the clinical tension many physicians feel, wanting to help patients see results while knowing that muscle preservation, metabolic flexibility, and resilience matter far more than the number on the scale. We talked about reducing friction through stress regulation and simple nutritional guidelines that patients can maintain. Zeke shared a framework that prioritizes consistency over intensity and behavior change over suppression. The davidic covenant in chapter 17 is the heart and core of 1-2 Chronicles. All previous chapters point to it, and all subsequent chapters flow from it. This lesson will outline the theological and spiritual characteristics of God's covenant with David to make his kingdom secure and everlasting. We'll also review how all characteristics are fulfilled in the person and mission of Jesus Christ. Enjoy this sample from Lesson 4, "The Davidic Covenant (1 Chron 17-20)" from Dr. Nick's ten-part course, "1-2 Chronicles: The Kingdom of the Lord." Anyone can join our community of students and stream the entire audio lesson and full course (and other courses too!) whenever they wish.

Everything he does as king is ordered towards the proper adoration of God.
