This time with Dj & Producer Florian Herzberg aka My Secret Playground from Berlin. Enjoy It Kurt Kjergaard BIO Again and again Florian Herzberg – the mastermind behind My Secret Playground – is drawn to his hometown Vienna. A city full of old glory and vanity, a spirit of optimism and standstill in the same way. On his releases the now Berlin-based producer combines these peculiarities in Electro and modern sounding 80s tracks. Rolling aggressive beats are replaced by broad synths and strings. Pounding kick drums paired with nostalgic vocal lines and vocoders make the leap into the 21st century and give My Secret Playgrounds an own contemporary Indie Dance sound. For more than a decade Florian has been based out of Berlin; in the German capital, he has not only found his unique musical voice – but emotional solidity within his greatest passion. 2014 he launched his live music project ‘My Secret Session', an event where DJs and musicians improvise live together to dance music. Through this session he was able to shape the unique organic sound width of My Secret Playground and also work with the best musicians in town. Since then Florian has been performing internationally as a DJ and with his band, creating a variety of sounds that sets him apart from the rest. His track „Wir Tanzen“ on Rabotat Records, combined with the viral video during Quarantine 2020, followed by his EP „Fears of Tears„, on Melopee Records, pushed My Secret Playground to a wider audience. His latest releases have all made it into the Beatport Indie Charts Top100. His latest tracks have been released on Jeahmon! and Sincopat. Since 2022 Florian organizes the hedonistic Party Theme Whipped Cream – a colorful dance soiree with artists like Freundthal, Vlad Yaki, Bizzarro Universe or Myrddin. With A.I filling the headlines more and more - I wanted to throw back to a mix I was inspired to make after reading Mo Gowdat's "Scary Smart back in 2021. My favourite Progressive House always has a futuristic sound that really flicks my science fiction switch on. I like to use samples that accentuate those elements and make the listener think whilst on the journey of the mix. The sample I have used in this mix is from the voice of Mo Gowdat. Mo is the former Chief Business Officer of Google [X]. I read his book Scary Smart: The Future of Artificial Intelligence and How You Can Save Our World, which is a roadmap detailing how humanity can ensure a symbiotic coexistence with A.I when it inevitably becomes a billion times smarter than we are. Currently situated in Vittoriosa, Randle was already inspired by his own hometown's underground clubbing scene and started DJing at the age of 17. Having performed at the most renowned clubs on the island, Randle has shared line-ups with DJ Ruby, Guy Mantzur, Tube & Berger, just to name a few. Quite affected by the intricate melodies and harmonies of progressive house, Randle's releases can be seen on Droid9, Another Life, OLD SQL and many more. On a daily basis, a founder and owner of MELODIC.DEEP.HOUSE where he supports local artists and also hosts artists from worldwide labels such Diynamic, Radikon, Katermukke, Sincopat, Innervisions, Atlant. Together with his friend Tomesh, he started a new project - Tom`s Square (2019), he also joined the Pozytyvka Crew (2020), which regularly organizes events in his hometown.
