In this episode we take a look at the somewhat Silly Disney Sci-fi film The Black Hole (1979). A spaceship, the USS Palomino, encounters a massive black hole. To the amazement of the crew, stationed on the edge of the black is the USS Cygnus, a ship thought lost 20 years earlier. The Cygnus was commanded by Dr Hans Reinhardt, a scientific genius. And Jon asks if VR is going to change the art world? (Answer: no.) Today we climb on board the USS Palomino and journey into cultural black holes. There's a difference in approach between the known unknowns Rob) and the unknown unknowns (Jon). Rob fares better as Jon couldn't figure out what the unknown unknowns were because he didn't know. Into the Black Hole and Out the Other Side The Black Hole is a 1979 American science fiction film directed by Gary Nelson and produced by Walt Disney Productions. The film stars Maximilian Schell, Robert Forster, Joseph Bottoms, Yvette Mimieux, Anthony Perkins, and Ernest Borgnine, while the voices of the main robot characters are provided by Roddy McDowall and Slim Pickens (both unbilled). The music for the film was composed by John Barry. Nearing the end of a long mission exploring deep space, the spacecraft USS Palomino is returning to Earth.
