Wolverine confronts the ghosts of Weapon X while Daeron steps into the fire at Tumbleton. This week on the podcast, Brian and Darryl are digging into two episodes packed with old enemies, buried secrets, questionable alliances, and families that probably should have tried therapy. Episode Index Intro: 0:07 DC Studios Chat: 9:06 X-Men ’97 Season 2 Episode 5: House of the Dragon Season 3 Episode 4: X-Men '97 (Disney+) X-Men '97, Season 2 Episode 5 Title: Weapon X, Lies, and DVDs Air date: July 15, 2026 Director: Chase Conley Writers: Anthony Sellitti, Brian Ford Sullivan, and JB Ballard Summary: Wolverine and Morph assemble a volatile team of former Weapon X subjects and enemies to destroy the program's latest experiment. Their mission quickly turns into a mutant horror story involving the Brood, Omega Red, mutated wildlife, and the lingering damage caused by Dr. Cornelius. As the team fights to survive, Morph discovers Logan has been hiding his true objective: finding a way to restore the adamantium Magneto ripped from his body. The episode blends Weapon X nostalgia, science-fiction horror, and Wolverine's habit of manipulating the people closest to him. Ration out of 5, Full Metal Logan is Here Too Soon Brian: 4/5 Darryl: 4/5 House of the Dragon (HBO Max) House of the Dragon, Season 3 Episode 4 Title: Tumbleton Air date: July 12, 2026 Director: Clare Kilner Writer: David Hancock Summary: Ormund Hightower occupies Tumbleton and begins shaping the real Daeron Targaryen into a potential Hightower-controlled king. In King's Landing, Rhaenyra faces growing unrest, financial problems, and graffiti branding her the “Queen of Bastards,” while her response becomes increasingly authoritarian. Daemon discovers that Rhaena is Sheepstealer's rider and returns with a lie designed to protect his daughter. Elsewhere, Aegon searches for Sunfyre, Aemond remains missing, and Alicent learns that Helaena is pregnant. The episode establishes Ormund as a major threat while forcing Daeron to take his first brutal step toward becoming the man Ormund wants him to be. Rating out of 5, Secret Targaryen Are Always All the Rage in Westeros Brian: 3.35/5 Darry: 3.7/5 Contact Us The Infamous Podcast can be found wherever podcasts are found on the Interwebs, feel free to subscribe and follow along on social media. Everyone knows you can't  just talk about a streak without following it up with a protective action. Sure, you all know how the Home Run Derby turned out but we recorded the day before so you get the joy of our terrible predictions. We have some do it for Venezuela, some home field advantage, and our thoughts on dads pitching. We ponder how ASG replacements actually work because it sure is not one for one. Willson and Ivan are in, Nick is out. JJ signs a monster contract extension, Kaz ties Shohei,. Pottymouth starts paying attention to Jonathan Aranda. Venezuelan Eduardo Valencia finally gets his call up but his thoughts are of home. The WPBL finally announces the names for the four inaugural teams, all based on women trailblazers from each city. While you were looking elsewhere, Johan Sandoval, Dominican college student and baseball player, was abducted by ICE. We're almost done crosstraining with the Men's World Cup but at least we get to mention Vikings. We say, “Pottymouths would have been a great team name,” “the whole Falklands/Malvinas thing,” and, “I wonder how many Erling Harlands are going to be in his kindergarten class?” Fight the man, go see some live baseball, send your game balls to Meredith, and find us on Bluesky @ncibpodcast, on Facebook @nocryinginbball, Instagram @nocryinginbball and on the Interweb at nocryinginbball.com. George Washington Rises, Westeros Crawls, and Jubilee Steals the Damn Show This week on the podcast, Brian and Darryl talk Young Washington, a good but slower week for House of the Dragon, and the absolute mutant madness of X-Men '97 Season 2. Spoiler alert: Jubilee is bad ass, and the boys are very much here for it. Episode Index Intro: 0:07 Supergirl/Sony Catchup: 4:50 Young Washington: 24:31 House of the Dragon (Season 2 Episode 3): 31:46 X-Men ’97 (Season 2 Episodes 1-4): 40:49 Supergirl and Sony Follow-Up Supergirl gets a quick follow-up after last week's conversation, with the focus on whether the new DCU is starting to build real momentum or still asking fans to trust the larger plan. There are pieces that could work, but the bigger question is whether those creative choices are actually landing yet. Sony's continued move away from physical media raises bigger questions for collectors, gamers, and fans who still care about owning what they buy. As entertainment keeps shifting toward digital libraries and platform control, the concern becomes whether fans are buying permanent access or just renting permission. Young Washington Release Date: July 3, 2026 Runtime: 122 minutes Director: Jon Erwin Writers: Jon Erwin, Tom Provost, and Diederik Hoogstraten Based On: The early life and military career of George Washington during the French and Indian War Studios: Wonder Project, 2521 Entertainment, 10 Ton Productions, and Red 56 Distributor: Angel Studios Summary: Young Washington follows George Washington before he became the Father of the Nation, focusing on his early military failures, his ambition, and the frontier conflict that helped shape the man he would become. The film tracks Washington as he is pulled into the French and Indian War, forced to deal with shifting alliances, dangerous mistakes, and the brutal reality of leadership before he is truly ready for it. Main Cast: William Franklyn-Miller as Young George Washington Mary-Louise Parker as Mary Washington Kelsey Grammer as Lord Fairfax Andy Serkis Ben Kingsley Production Notes: Directed and co-written by Jon Erwin, Young Washington arrives as a historical war drama built around the making of George Washington rather than the myth of George Washington. The film leans into the mistakes, pressure, and survival instincts of a young man caught in a conflict much bigger than himself. A sequel titled 1776 is already in development, continuing Washington's story into the American Revolution. Rating, Out of 10 Pawns Really Have a Way of Taking Down a King Brian: 8/10 Darryl: DWN House of the Dragon (HBO / Max) House of the Dragon, Season 3 Episode 3 Title: Rhaenyra Triumphant Air date: July 5, 2026 Based On: Fire & Blood by George R. R. Martin Created By: Ryan Condal and George R. R. Martin Summary: Rhaenyra's hold on King's Landing is already starting to look more fragile than victorious. The city is starving, the treasury is gone, and ruling from the Iron Throne is proving to be very different from claiming it. While Rhaenyra tries to stabilize her rule, Daemon pushes for harsher action, Corlys fights for the future of his family, and the supposed Daeron situation becomes another political mess inside an already broken war. The episode is good, but slower this week, spending more time on fallout, legitimacy, and court tension than dragon fire or battlefield momentum. It is very much a table-setting episode, but the pieces it moves could matter a lot as the Dance keeps getting uglier. Main Cast: Emma D'Arcy as Rhaenyra Targaryen Matt Smith as Daemon Targaryen Olivia Cooke as Alicent Hightower Steve Toussaint as Corlys Velaryon Rhys Ifans as Otto Hightower Ewan Mitchell as Aemond Targaryen Tom Glynn-Carney as Aegon II Targaryen Rating out of 5, Fake Targaryens Does Not a Fun Episode Make Brian: 3.4/5 Darryl: 3.25/5 X-Men '97 (Disney+) X-Men '97, Season 2 Episodes 1-4 Air date: Season 2 premiered July 1, 2026, with new episodes releasing weekly on Disney+ Episode 4 Title: Rise of Apocalypse – Part II Based On: Marvel Comics' X-Men and X-Men: The Animated Series Developed By: Beau DeMayo Summary: X-Men '97 Season 2 picks up after the chaos of Season 1 by throwing the team into an even bigger, weirder, and more comic-book-ass corner of mutant history. With the X-Men scattered across time and Apocalypse looming large over the season, the show wastes no time going huge with the stakes, the emotion, and the deep-cut Marvel madness. Through the first four episodes, this season is already firing on all cylinders. The action is big, the character work is sharp, and the show continues to understand exactly why people love the X-Men. Jubilee, in particular, comes out looking like an absolute bad ass, bringing the kind of energy that makes this feel like peak Saturday morning cartoon nostalgia smashed together with modern serialized storytelling. Main Voice Cast: Ray Chase as Cyclops Jennifer Hale as Jean Grey Cal Dodd as Wolverine Lenore Zann as Rogue George Buza as Beast Alison Sealy-Smith as Storm A. J. LoCascio as Gambit Holly Chou as Jubilee Production Notes: X-Men '97 continues the legacy of X-Men: The Animated Series while pushing the story into darker, stranger, and more ambitious territory. Season 2 is leaning hard into time displacement, Apocalypse, mutant survival, and big emotional swings, while still keeping the colorful, fast-moving, comic-book energy that made Season 1 such a monster hit. Rating Episode 1-4 out of 10, Character Assassination Does Not Exist In the Danger Room, Does it! Pottymouth does not disappoint bringing you the Cavalli-Contreras rant you've been waiting for. Putting it firmly in the larger context of the devastating earthquake in Venezuela, Contreras' home country, we walk through the “brush,” the slur that came awfully easily to Cavalli, and the ensuing fracas (not a picnic, not a brawl). There's yet another teaching moment about an apology that really isn't. And the inequitable aftermath. Back to that larger context, “baseball” is rallying around earthquake recovery, from team-level fundraising to actions by individual players, and smaller, incredibly heartfelt moments that mean everything.Congrats to current BFs Drake Baldwin and Nick Kurtz for being named starters at this year's ASG, and to Sal Stewart and once and forever bf Adley Rutschman for making the reserves. Patti catches you up on collective bargaining with MLB owners moving money around in a smaller box and the MLBPA looking to eliminate shenanigans with stashing players in the minors to save a few bucks. We crosstrain with the Men's World Cup and the infamous Red Card, and the fascist in chief's inability to stay in his lane. And lastly we enjoy the irony of staff from “Guiness” (not that one) ruling on a world record glass of “beer” (It's Bud so it starts in quotes) outside of Globe Life Field. Patti still wants to know what happened to the 600 gallons sitting in the Texas sun for hours… ARI celebrated with apple pie nachos, and WAS with a red white and blue Liberty shake, but all any other teams could manage was throwing words like “all american” and “firecracker” in front of standard concessions. But at least our homes shook during the midnight fireworks in your nation's capital, as if we were under attack. We say, “Halle-f*!@n-luya,”Nothing says America 250 like a giant Budweiser,” and “cross-train with criticizing the government.” Fight the man, go see some live baseball, send your game balls to Meredith, and find us on Bluesky @ncibpodcast, on Facebook @nocryinginbball, Instagram @nocryinginbball and on the Interweb at nocryinginbball.com. Netflix rewrites beloved characters, Sony walks away from physical media, Westeros delivers, and DC Studios stumbles out of the gate again. This week on the podcast, Brian and Darryl discuss Netflix's handling of Avatar: The Last Airbender Season 2 and why disrespecting beloved characters is becoming one of streaming's biggest problems. They also break down Sony's latest PlayStation decisions and what they mean for the future of physical media and game ownership. Then it's back to Westeros for House of the Dragon Season 3 Episode 2 before wrapping things up with their review of Supergirl (2026) and whether DC Studios has another winner on its hands. Episode Index Intro: 0:07 Playstation Kill Physical Media: 06:07 AtLAB, Netfilx is why we can’t have nice things: 28:20 House of the Dragon: 41:57 Supergirl: 56:27 PlayStation Announces the End of Physical Media Announcement Date: July 1, 2026 Effective Date: January 2028 Company: Sony Interactive Entertainment Summary: Sony announced that beginning in January 2028, all new PlayStation games will be released digitally only, ending production of physical Blu-ray game discs for future releases. Games already released—or scheduled for release before the 2028 cutoff—will continue to be sold on disc, but every new title afterward will require a digital download through the PlayStation Store or participating retailers. Sony says the decision reflects changing consumer habits, noting that digital purchases now account for roughly 80% of full-game sales on PlayStation. Key Details: – Physical discs for new PlayStation releases end in January 2028. – Existing disc-based games will continue to work and remain available while supplies last. – Retailers will transition to selling digital download codes instead of boxed games. – Sony says the move follows overwhelming consumer preference for digital purchases. Why It Matters: – Gamers lose the ability to buy, sell, trade, or lend future PlayStation games. – Collectors will no longer have physical editions for new releases. – Consumers become increasingly tied to Sony's digital storefront and licensing model. – Preservation advocates worry that future games could become inaccessible if licensing changes or digital storefronts eventually close. – Digital-only distribution gives publishers greater pricing control by reducing competition from the used-game market. Discussion Points: – Do you really own a digital game, or are you simply purchasing a revocable license? – What happens to game preservation when no physical copy exists? – Will digital-only distribution lead to higher prices due to reduced retail competition? – Is convenience worth giving up ownership rights? – Does this set the stage for the PlayStation 6 to become a fully digital platform? Industry analysts increasingly believe so. Infamous Take: While digital downloads are undeniably convenient, this announcement marks the end of an era. Physical media has always given players tangible ownership, resale value, and long-term access independent of corporate licensing agreements. Sony's decision may make business sense, but it also shifts even more control away from consumers and toward platform holders; a trend that extends far beyond gaming. Avatar: The Last Airbender (Netflix) Season: 2 Platform: Netflix Summary: Brian and Darryl discuss Netflix's continued adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender and why they believe the series is losing sight of what made the original so beloved. The conversation focuses on major character changes, the difference between adaptation and rewriting, and why respecting the heart of the source material matters just as much as updating it for a modern audience. House of the Dragon (HBO Max) Season 3, Episode 2 Title: Queen’s Landing Air Date: June 28, 2026 Director: Clare Kilner Writer: Sara Hess Summary: Following the devastating Battle of the Gullet, Rhaenyra's grief quickly turns into resolve as Team Black moves to seize King's Landing. Alicent secretly conspires to surrender the city in hopes of saving part of her family, while Daemon returns to continue the campaign. The episode marks a major turning point in the Dance of the Dragons as alliances shift, old loyalties collapse, and Rhaenyra finally claims the Iron Throne at tremendous personal cost. Rating out of 5 Otto Not So Hightower Brian: 4.5/5 Darryl: 4.45/5 Supergirl (2026) Release Date: June 26, 2026 Runtime: 108 minutes Director: Craig Gillespie Writer: Ana Nogueira Based On: Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow by Tom King and Bilquis Evely Studio: DC Studios Distributor: Warner Bros. Pictures Summary: Kara Zor-El embarks on a brutal interstellar journey alongside the young warrior Ruthye Marye Knoll to hunt down the man responsible for murdering Ruthye's family. Along the way, Kara confronts her own trauma while facing the ruthless Krem of the Yellow Hills, resulting in a darker, more cosmic take on the Girl of Steel than previous film adaptations. Main Cast: – Milly Alcock as Kara Zor-El / Supergirl – Eve Ridley as Ruthye Marye Knoll – Matthias Schoenaerts as Krem of the Yellow Hills – Jason Momoa as Lobo – David Krumholtz as Zor-El – Emily Beecham as Alura In-Ze – David Corenswet as Superman (cameo) Production Notes: The second film in DC Studios' new shared universe adapts Tom King's acclaimed Woman of Tomorrow storyline, emphasizing Kara's emotional scars and cosmic adventures over a traditional superhero origin. Despite strong expectations and praise for Milly Alcock's performance, the film opened below box office projections and received mixed critical reception, making it one of the first commercial disappointments of the new DC Universe. That's the question posed by Kurt Weaver, the Executive Director of You Can Play, regarding how Pride events are handled in sports.  Read more here, after the finger pointing, the absence of leadership, and the spin. The deadly earthquakes in Venezuela hit the baseball world hard. Venezuelan players in MLB played through the pain, and wore their hearts on their caps. Current and former players are rolling up their sleeves and organizing relief efforts to augment the donations from MLBPA Trust and individual teams. The LMBP season is suspended and Venezuelans just keep taking hits. The Men's World Cup brings us an unlikely Pride Night with Egypt vs Iran where you can bring your own rainbow but not pre-revolutionary flags. Bosnia fans chant “Free Palestine” and we cheer for family making it through the immigration hoops. But FIFA is not political. In regularly scheduled MLB action, Pete gets to 500, Kyle gets to Pottymouth's Posse, Jac gets back to Tampa, and Willson gets to hate on the Yankees. Darryl gives the quick two-minute recap, but the big question is simple: does Pixar still have the emotional pull, or is this franchise finally running on low battery? Main Voice Cast: Tom Hanks as Woody Tim Allen as Buzz Lightyear Joan Cusack as Jessie Greta Lee as Lilypad Conan O'Brien as Smarty Pants Tony Hale Craig Robinson Shelby Rabara Mykal-Michelle Harris Matty Matheson John Ratzenberger Wallace Shawn Annie Potts Keanu Reeves Alan Cumming Production Notes: Toy Story 5 is directed by longtime Pixar veteran Andrew Stanton, co-directed by Kenna Harris, and scored by Randy Newman, returning to the franchise for his fifth Toy Story feature. Keep them everywhere, like ibuprofen. You never know when you need them.  We have thoughts about Giants pitchers, DOJ and Attorneys General wasting taxpayer dollars on non issues, bigotry having consequences, and the chance for Book Club Girl to say Pride and Prejudice on a baseball podcast. The World Cup continues to provide endless opportunities for cross-training. Ecuador/Curaçao brings out the boyfriends, we've got a slippery slope of mouth covering with intent, there's the welcome mats extended to Scots and Vikings and rolled up for many other countries (again we say, why is the US allowed to host?), and some creative letter but not spirit of the law following by Gillette and Levis. There's the first cycle of the season, and then the first for Bryce (thanks, Schwarbs!). Drake comes back and hits a ball really, really, far.  Nasim finally makes Pottymouth's team. JJ's fifth grade teacher gets her 5 minutes of fame. No Cars, All Kicks This week on the podcast, Brian and Darryl are back with spies, shadows, and a whole lot of martial arts chaos. They dig into Citadel Season 2 Episodes 5-7, check in on Spider-Noir Episodes 5-6, and throw down with the 2026 action film The Furious, starring Joe Taslim and Xie Miao. From high-stakes spy nonsense to black-and-white superhero noir to bone-crunching action, this episode has a little bit of everything. Citadel keeps pushing its global conspiracy machine forward, Spider-Noir continues blending superhero mythology with hardboiled detective vibes, and The Furious delivers exactly what the title promises: furious people kicking the absolute hell out of each other. Season 2, Episode 6 Title: Highlands Air date: May 6, 2026 Runtime: 36 minutes Director: Greg Yaitanes / Joseph Russo Writer: David J. Rosen and David Weil Summary: As Joana moves closer to assassinating the Russian president at the G8 Summit and taking control of a Russian satellite network, Mason and Nadia bring Abby to a safehouse in Scotland. Rosen and David Weil Summary: The season finale brings the Citadel team to the G8 Summit, where Joana plans to assassinate President Aronov and seize control of Russian satellites. The team is forced into a dangerous infiltration mission full of impossible choices, collapsing loyalties, and the kind of last-minute spy chaos that turns a diplomatic summit into a battlefield. Rating Out of 10, The Unexpected is Always Unexpected Brian: 8.55/10 Daryl: 7.77/10 Season 2 Rating Out of 10, Hutch is THE MAN Brian: 8.3/10 Darryl: 7.5/10 Citadel Series Out of 10, Kane… Mason Kane Brian: 8/10 Darryl: 7.25/10 Spider-Noir (Prime Video) Season 1, Episode 5 Title: Betrayal Air date: May 27, 2026 Director: Alethea Jones Writer: Jennifer Frazin and Steve Lightfoot Summary: Robbie continues fighting to reclaim his place at the Bugle, using his exclusive stories about super-powered soldiers and the return of The Spider to make his case. The episode digs deeper into deception, identity, and the strange science behind this noir-soaked superhero world, pushing Ben Reilly further into the mystery while the danger around him keeps getting uglier. Season 1, Episode 6 Title: Nightmare on a Gurney Air date: May 27, 2026 Director: Alethea Jones Writer: Jack Henderson, Jennifer Frazin, and Megan Liao Summary: The mystery tightens as Ben Reilly, Robbie, and the rest of the players move closer to the truth behind the city's super-powered nightmare. With the endgame starting to take shape, the episode leans into medical horror, noir paranoia, and superhero conspiracy, setting up the final stretch of the season with more questions, more danger, and more bodies piling up in the shadows. Rating Out of 10, Come on Webs, Work! Brian: 7.3/10 Darryl: 8.25/10 The Furious (2026) Release Date: June 12, 2026 Runtime: 113 minutes Director: Kenji Tanigaki Writers: Mak Tin Shu, Lei Zhilong, Shum Kwan Sin, and Frank Hui Studios: Edko Films, Zhejiang Hengdian Film, and XYZ Films Distributor: Lionsgate Premiere / Lionsgate Films Rating: R for strong bloody violence and language Summary: When his daughter Rainy is kidnapped, humble tradesman Wang Wei is dragged into a violent criminal underworld where corruption, trafficking, and blood-soaked revenge collide. His only real ally is Navin, a journalist whose own family tragedy connects him to the same criminal network. Together, they fight through waves of gangsters, assassins, and human wrecking balls in a brutal martial arts rescue mission that is light on subtlety and very, very heavy on kicks. Main Cast: Xie Miao as Wang Wei Joe Taslim as Navin Yang Enyou as Rainy Jeeja Yanin as Matia Brian Le as Ho / HD Yayan Ruhian as Tak Joey Iwanaga as Pak Lung Production Notes: The Furious is directed by Kenji Tanigaki, a veteran stunt coordinator and action filmmaker, and the movie's biggest selling point is exactly what you would expect from that background: relentless, bone-crunching fight choreography. The film premiered internationally before its 2026 U.S. theatrical release, with coverage positioning it as a Hong Kong action throwback built around practical stunt work, violent hand-to-hand combat, and the kind of crowd-pleasing martial arts insanity that has drawn comparisons to The Raid and other modern action benchmarks. The film is commonly listed as a 2025 Hong Kong production because of its festival premiere, but its U.S. theatrical release is June 12, 2026. Lionsgate handled the U.S. release, and Movie Insider lists the film as a nationwide theatrical release with an R rating for strong bloody violence and language. Rating Out of 10, Everybody Was Kung Fu Fighting… Especially the Guy with the Bow Brian: 8.11/10 Darryl: 8.2/10 Contact Us The Infamous Podcast can be found wherever podcasts are found on the Interwebs, feel free to subscribe and follow along on social media. That's right, it's Happy Retirement Week for Pottymouth – from her day job, not the pod! But that means a little less incognito. If there's a beer in front of her face, it is because she's drinking it, not hiding behind it. We've got some multihomer bfs this week, including one where others demand the credit, the espresso boys are lighting things up, Josh embraces the beer league. A's Nick hits the ball really far while BSB Nick throws out a first pitch in a Vegas preview. Freddie gets to 2500 and Kaz gets to 500 level. Kyle is close to coming back but is a fingernail really the right measurement? Can't not talk about Miz. FIFA sets off a travel ban/visa rant resulting in a fair question of why is the US allowed to host if it is so hostile to foreign nationals? Haiti's Polish flag jerseys are forbidden, and teach us some incredible history at the same time. A team owner raises the bar on the courthouse wedding. Grayskull, Gumshoes, and Global Spy Nonsense This week on the podcast, Brian and Darryl have the power… allegedly. The guys dig into Citadel Season 2 episodes 3 and 4, continue down the black-and-white rabbit hole with Spider-Noir episodes 3 and 4, and then head back to Eternia for the 2026 live-action Masters of the Universe movie. It's spies, spiders, swords, Skeletor, and probably way too much yelling about whether He-Man should ever be self-aware. Episode Index Intro: 0:07 The Citadel Season 2 (eps 3-4): 4:56 Spider-Noir (eps 3-4): 19:54 Masters of the Universe (2026): 32:02 The Citadel (Amazon Prime) Series: Citadel Season: 2 Network: Prime Video Season 2 Release Date: May 6, 2026 Season 2 Episode Count: 7 episodes Starring: Richard Madden, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Stanley Tucci, Lesley Manville, Matt Berry, Michael Trucco, Rahul Kohli, Merle Dandridge, and Jack Reynor Citadel Season 2 released all seven episodes on Prime Video on May 6, 2026, with episode 3 titled “Chinos” and episode 4 titled “Unreasonable.” Prime Video describes the season as a globe-spanning spy thriller following Mason Kane, Nadia Sinh, and Bernard Orlick as Citadel operatives caught in a conspiracy where “anyone could be friend or foe.” Episode 3: “Chinos” Director: Joe Russo Writers: Gursimran Sandhu and David J. Rosen Original Air Date: May 6, 2026 Summary: As Paulo's plan escalates, Mason and Nadia are forced into an uneasy alliance. Episode 4: “Unreasonable” Director: Joe Russo Writers: Tori Sampson, David Weil, and David J. Rosen Original Air Date: May 6, 2026 Summary: After pulling the truth about Edison's identity, the team shifts focus to a high-profile gala where their target is expected to appear. Mason and Nadia's tensions keep rising, enemies close in from every angle, and one dishonest move threatens to blow up the entire mission. Rating out of 10, What do the Italians Have Against Cereal Brian: 7/10 Darryl: 7.3/10 Spider-Noir (Amazon Prime) Series: Spider-Noir Season: 1 Network: MGM+ / Prime Video Season 1 Release: May 25, 2026 on MGM+ in the U.S.; May 27, 2026 on Prime Video Episode Count: 8 episodes Runtime: About 45 minutes per episode Starring: Nicolas Cage, Lamorne Morris, Li Jun Li, Karen Rodriguez, Abraham Popoola, Jack Huston, and Brendan Gleeson Spider-Noir follows a struggling private investigator in 1930s New York who is forced back into his past life as the city's lone superhero. The series stars Nicolas Cage as Ben “The Spider” Reilly, with Lamorne Morris as Robbie Robertson, Li Jun Li as Cat Hardy, Jack Huston as Flint Marko, and Brendan Gleeson as Silvermane. Episode 3: “Double Cross” Director: Nzingha Stewart Writers: Megan Liao and Steve Lightfoot Original Air Date: May 25, 2026 on MGM+ / May 27, 2026 on Prime Video Summary: Ben is hired by Silvermane to find who leaked his liquor transfer. At the hospital, he learns injured officers were tipped off by Morris. Robbie goes to a poor neighborhood to question Lincoln but witnesses a raid ordered by Morris, forcing Marko and Lincoln to use their powers against the cops. Janet discovers Addison, Lincoln, and Marko were former prisoners of war. Ben also finds out Carmedy lied about being Cat’s husband to gather evidence on Morris and that Cat arranged the meeting. He concludes Cat leaked the transfer and hired Addison to burn down Silvermane’s mansion. Ben breaks into Silvermane’s vault to pay Vera to leave town before she exposes Cat. Marko briefly considers escaping with Cat, but abandons the idea due to his symptoms worsening further. Ben later confronts Cat at Penn Station as she tries to flee, but Winston captures them. After tracing marked payments from Silvermane, Ben frames Winston by using his money to pay Vera. Silvermane shoots and kills Winston. Episode 4: “A Mistake I'll Never Make Again” Director: Nzingha Stewart Writer: Tori Sampson Original Air Date: May 25, 2026 on MGM+ / May 27, 2026 on Prime Video Summary: Cat reveals to Ben she hired Addison to kill Silvermane so she could settle down with Marko after Silvermane murdered her first fiancé. Marko eavesdrops on their discussion. Feeling betrayed, he decides to work for Silvermane again. Robbie and Janet interview Lincoln at the office. Silvermane uses Marko to intimidate Morris into backing off on his campaign ending Prohibition. Ben and Cat spend the night at his place, where he divulges on how Ruby died from a criminal he caught seeking revenge. They both leave after hearing a metahuman is attacking the Diamond District, presuming it to be Marko. The metahuman is a man named Dirk Leyden, a criminal with the ability to absorb and release electricity. The Spider defeats him by shutting off the power in the area to prevent Leyden from storing any more electricity, and Morris uses his victory to boost his campaign. Cat returns to Ben’s apartment and deduces that he is the Spider before kissing him. We're pretty sure Batman doesn't mean what Nathan Lukes thinks it means. The Password is up for PIT and the Username is in Maine. Nick surpasses Rickey's streak. Other Nick debuts in front of home town crowd. James Frickin Wood scores a real inside the park GS (sorry, JJ). Everybody loves Salvy, and Chris is retiring for real this time. It doesn't matter if your home run hits the top of the foul pole or the base, it counts the same and both are pretty notable. The Johnson's, if that's their real name, home run ball luck inspires us to greatness. Pottymouth encourages Mexico and Canada as alternate World Cup viewing sites if you are not a lucky New Yorker benefitting from a Mayor who gets it. Welcome to the episode where we embrace retirement age and a respect for poetry at the same time our inner 12 year olds attempt to discuss cockfighting with the seriousness it deserves. That's right, in the same hour we reference NPR and the National Baseball Poetry Festival, and Edwin Diaz and his 150 cock photos on Facebook. Not that kind. We tell you about Thor dabbling with slander, Yasiel Puig's perceived lack of remorse, and the wrong kind of banner day at Nat's Park. Pottymouth's boyfriends battle it out – Will Blaze be the new Westy? How will the Jorbit/Nasim contest end? Patti's guys have the big bats this week, and she finally has a starting pitcher back in the flock. Gavin is locked in for the clutch hits. And Tommy Pham becomes the Free Space. CBA negotiations have finally begun and this piece on ESPN can help you get up to speed. We say, “I can't explain Tommy Pham,” “our favorite bat-licker,” and “the only sport where you should have knives on your feet is ice hockey.” Fight the man, go see some live baseball, send your game balls to Meredith, and find us on Bluesky @ncibpodcast, on Facebook @nocryinginbball, Instagram @nocryinginbball and on the Interweb at nocryinginbball.com. Finish Him… Frenchie is Cooked! This week on the podcast, Brian and Darryl test their might with Mortal Kombat II, check in on the latest round of Homelander-induced misery in The Boys Season 5 Episode 7, suffer through The Punisher: One Last Kill, run the floor with the first four episodes of Running Point Season 2, and close things out with a good old-fashioned Odyssey bitch fest. You know, culture. Episode Index Intro: 0:07 The Odyssey Bitch Fest: 4:47 Running Point Season 2 Episodes 1-4: 10:48 The Punisher: One Last Kill: 20:45 The Boys Season 5 Episode 7: 33:00 Mortal Kombat II: 43:05 The Odyssey Bitch Fest Brian and Darryl close out the week with an Odyssey rant, because apparently ancient Greek epics, modern adaptations, translation discourse, and Hollywood hype cycles were not already exhausting enough. Somewhere, Homer is either proud, confused, or asking why everyone on the internet suddenly thinks they are a classics scholar with a Letterboxd account. Running Point: Season 2, Episodes 1-4 Series: Running Point Season: 2 Episodes covered: Episodes 1-4 Release date: April 23, 2026 Season 2, Episode 1 Title: New Coach Who Dis Air date: April 23, 2026 Director: David Stassen Writers: Mindy Kaling, Ike Barinholtz, and David Stassen Summary: Cam is back, which means Isla immediately has to deal with family politics, front office nonsense, and the ongoing question of who actually gets to control the Waves. With the team needing a new coach, Cam pushes his preferred pick while Isla tries to make the smarter basketball decision instead of the loudest nepo-baby decision. Season 2, Episode 2 Title: The Poacher Air date: April 23, 2026 Director: Erica Oyama Writer: Joe Mande Summary: Trade rumors around Dyson heat up, forcing Isla to fight for one of the team's most important players while Sandy uncovers a financial issue tied to Cam. Ali, tired of being treated like office furniture with a calendar invite, makes a major career move that threatens to shake up both the Waves and Isla's support system. Season 2, Episode 3 Title: Triangle of Badness Air date: April 23, 2026 Director: David Stassen Writer: David Phillips Summary: Ali's move to Canada creates a widening rift between her and Isla, because nothing says “healthy friendship” like professional resentment and international workplace drama. Meanwhile, the tension between Dyson and Travis keeps escalating, and Sandy tries to survive Charlie's new reality TV lifestyle without completely losing his mind. Season 2, Episode 4 Title: MVP: Marcus Very Pissed Air date: April 23, 2026 Director: Michael Weaver Writers: Ike Barinholtz and David Stassen Summary: The tension between Norm and Marcus starts turning into a full-blown problem, forcing Isla into damage-control mode. Sandy finally hits his breaking point with Charlie's reality show circus, while Ali begins questioning whether her big move was actually empowering or just a different flavor of chaos with better scenery. Rating out of 10 Those Canadians are the Nicest Cut Throats Ever Brian: 7.6/10 Darryl: 7.5/10 The Punisher: One Last Kill Title: The Punisher: One Last Kill Release date: May 12, 2026 Director: Reinaldo Marcus Green Writers: Jon Bernthal and Reinaldo Marcus Green Summary: Frank Castle is living off the grid, haunted by the ghosts of his past, and trying to exist without being the Punisher. Naturally, peace lasts about twelve seconds before Ma Gnucci and the Gnucci Crime Family drag him back into the kind of blood-soaked revenge spiral Marvel insists is “grounded” because nobody shoots laser beams. The special attempts to bridge Frank's story between Daredevil: Born Again and his next MCU appearance, but for Brian and Darryl, this one lands less like a brutal character study and more like Marvel trying to convince everyone that misery equals depth. Frank deserves better. So do we. Rating out of 10 Disney Just Doesn’t Get It Brian: 1/10 Darryl: 4/10 The Boys: Season 5, Episode 7 Title: The Frenchman, the Female, and the Man Called Mother’s Milk Air date: May 13, 2026 Director: Sylvain White Writer: Anslem Richardson Summary: Homelander, now juiced up with V1, fully tips into god-king nightmare mode by killing the President, dissolving the Seven, and preparing to reveal himself as America's favorite fascist deity. Soldier Boy tries to walk away, which goes about as well as you would expect when your son is Homelander and your family dynamic is basically a war crime with abs. Meanwhile, the Boys try to recreate Soldier Boy's depowering ability through Kimiko, Marie Moreau and Jordan Li uncover suspicious activity around Oh Father at Vought Studios, and the episode ends with Frenchie making one last move to protect Kimiko before Homelander fatally wounds him. So, you know, just another relaxing week in the Vought Cinematic Trauma Dump. Rating out of 5 A God Complex is a Terrible Thing to Waste Brian: 1.5/5 Darryl: 1.5/5 Mortal Kombat II Title: Mortal Kombat II Release date: May 8, 2026 Director: Simon McQuoid Writer: Jeremy Slater Rating: 7.99/10 Summary: Johnny Cage enters the arena as Earthrealm's fighters are pulled into the full-blown tournament chaos fans have been waiting for since the 2021 reboot. With Shao Kahn threatening the survival of Earthrealm and Kitana entering the mix, Mortal Kombat II leans into the franchise's blood-soaked mythology, fan-service mayhem, and video game ridiculousness in all the ways a movie like this absolutely should. It is loud, dumb, violent, and somehow still better calibrated than half the superhero stuff clogging the pipeline. Tarik may have had loose bodies removed from his elbow but Patti's pitching flock remains in shambles. Our boyfriends are getting beaned, sometimes by the aforementioned flock member. We don't care for it, and yet what happened to warnings? Pottymouth catches us up on her overabundance of catchers. Shea has Dad Power. JJ hits an inside the park grand slam and laments the running. Patti relates. It turns out, at the one-quarter season mark, that we are terrible about predicting where teams will be in the standings but not so bad about identifying individual stand-out players. Pottymouth digs deeper around the self-deportation of Humberto Federico Cruz-Guajardo. Patti wants you to read this article in Andscape putting the importance of the new owners of the Padres into the context of who has power and what that means. We invite you into WPBL player Brittany Apgar's public conversation about DIY solutions to protecting the nub. And finally, we crosstrain with souvenir beverage delivery systems.  Beer skates, anyone? We say, “left hip inflammation screams ‘old guy',” “a dunkel in the fridge,” and “it doesn't seem like a cap someone who likes baseball would wear.” Fight the man, go see some live baseball, send your game balls to Meredith,, and find us on Bluesky @ncibpodcast, on Facebook @nocryinginbball, Instagram @nocryinginbball and on the Interweb at nocryinginbball.com. Apparently, Tim is HIM! This week on the podcast, Brian and Darryl buckle up for a finale-heavy week with the last two episodes of Maul: Shadow Lord, the Season 2 finale of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, the Season 2 finale of Daredevil: Born Again, The Boys Season 5 Episode 6, and Netflix's 2026 limited series Lord of the Flies. Episode Index Intro: 0:07 Lord of the Flies: 7:02 Maul: 12:47 Monarch: 29:32 Daredevil: 46:50 The Boys: 1:02:16 Lord of the Flies, Netflix Limited Series Limited Series Episodes: 4 Titles: Piggy, Jack, Simon, Ralph Netflix release date: May 4, 2026 in the U.S. Original release date: February 8, 2026 Director: Marc Munden Writer: Jack Thorne Summary: Netflix's 2026 Lord of the Flies limited series adapts William Golding's classic survival nightmare into a four-episode TV format, following a group of British schoolboys stranded on a deserted island after a plane crash. Ralph and Piggy try to build order, rules, and rescue plans, while Jack's need for power and violence slowly turns the group into rival camps. The series tracks the collapse through four character-focused episodes: Piggy brings the boys together, Jack embraces the hunt, Simon becomes the tragic victim of the island's growing hysteria, and Ralph watches the last pieces of civilization burn down around him. By the end, Piggy and Simon are dead, Ralph is hunted, and rescue arrives only after the boys have already proven that the real monster was never hiding in the jungle. Rating Out of 10 It Would Have Been Better Not to Try at All Brian: 1/10 Darryl: DNW Maul: Shadow Lord (Disney Plus) Title: Chapter 9: Strange Allies Air date: May 4, 2026 Director: Steward Lee Writer: Christopher Yost Summary: Dryden Vos enters the picture with an offer Maul absolutely cannot ignore: safe passage off Janix in exchange for Maul taking the reins of Crimson Dawn. Meanwhile, Maul reaches out to Devon through their Force connection, drawing her and the rest of the group into a desperate alliance. Lawson suggests a dangerous underground route out of the city, but the escape turns into a nightmare when the group has to cross a toxic river while the Inquisitors close in. Maul holds them off long enough for everyone to make it across, only for Darth Vader to arrive outside the city and casually remind everyone that there is always a bigger monster in the room. Title: Chapter 10: The Dark Lord Air date: May 4, 2026 Director: Nathaniel Villanueva Writer: Matt Michnovetz & Brad Rau Summary: The season finale throws Maul, Devon, Daki, the Lawsons, and the rest of the survivors straight into Vader's shadow. Maul and the Jedi fight Vader and the Inquisitors while the others try to reach Dryden Vos's ship through a wall of Imperial troops. Daki gets a brief victory over Marrok, but Vader kills him after Maul chooses self-preservation over loyalty. Devon's grief and rage push her closer to Maul, who promises to train her for revenge. Lawson sacrifices himself so Rylee, Two-Boots, and Vario can escape, and by the time Vos's ship leaves Janix, Devon agrees to become Maul's apprentice. Good news: they escaped. Bad news: the emotional damage is now fully weaponized. Rating Out of 10 Shhhhh Vader Comes Brian: 8/10 Darryl: 9.4/10 Season out of 10 Maul, Not Darth Just Maul Brian: 6/10 Darryl: 8.8/10 Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, Season 2 Finale Season 2, Episode 10 Title: Where We Belong Air date: May 1, 2026 Director: Lawrence Trilling Writer: Teleplay by Joe Pokaski; Story by Andrew Colville Summary: The finale brings the season's Titan X chaos to Skull Island, where Kentaro leans into Isabel's plan to use Axis Mundi to save Hiroshi, because apparently messing with monster time-space is the new family therapy. Kong battles Titan X while Cate escapes Isabel's base and Keiko rescues her. Tim and May try to shut down the neural implants, but the real fix comes from returning Titan X's egg, which pacifies the creature and ends the fight. Titan X returns to Axis Mundi with the egg, Shaw and Keiko get a brief emotional vision of younger Shaw, and six weeks later Monarch officially recruits Cate, Keiko, May, and Tim. Meanwhile, Shaw tracks Kentaro and Isabel to Thailand and finds Rodan waiting near a volcano, because this show simply refuses to end on a normal workplace update. Rating Out of 5 Starring Kentaro as Cate Brian: 4.38/5 Darryl: 4.35/5 Season out of 10 Why Did Titan X Only Fight with 2 Tentacles Most of the Fight Brian: 8.6/10 Darryl: 7.5/10 Daredevil: Born Again, Season 2 Finale Season 2, Episode 8 Title: The Southern Cross Air date: May 5, 2026 Director: Iain B. MacDonald Writer: Dario Scardapane & Jesse Wigutow Summary: Karen Page's trial becomes the pressure cooker for the entire season as Matt calls Wilson Fisk to the stand, presents Savva's video testimony, and publicly reveals that he is Daredevil to prove what Fisk has done. Dex stops AVTF officers from killing Matt, then takes a shot at Fisk, causing chaos inside the courthouse. Outside, Daredevil's supporters rise up after BB Urich pushes the city to fight back. Fisk is offered exile to avoid charges, but because he is Wilson Fisk and subtlety has never once entered the chat, he lashes out and kills multiple protestors before Matt convinces him to take the deal. Fisk leaves New York, the AVTF collapses, BB lands at the New York Bulletin, Jessica reunites with Luke Cage, Heather Glenn starts sliding into Muse territory, and Matt ends the season arrested and imprisoned for being Daredevil. That is one hell of a “victory,” Matt. Rating out of 5 I AM… Daredevil Brian: 4.51/5 Darryl: 3.89/5 Season out of 10 It’s just too clean Brian: 7.68/10 Darryl: 6.56/10 The Boys, Season 5 Episode 6 Title: Though the Heavens Fall Air date: May 6, 2026 Director: Catriona McKenzie Writer: David Reed Summary: The Deep gets stuck doing Vought propaganda for a new oil pipeline, while Noir, tired of Deep wrecking his career plans, sabotages the whole thing and causes a catastrophic oil spill. Deep responds like the emotionally stable aquatic nightmare he is and murders Noir in retaliation. Meanwhile, Sage incapacitates Ashley and pulls information from Bashley, discovering that Soldier Boy may know where to find a lead on V1. That sends Sage into full defection mode as the final season keeps pushing everyone toward the inevitable blood-soaked endgame. Also, yes, somehow “Bashley” remains a thing we all have to say out loud. Things go sideways fast when Imperial forces capture Rylee, forcing Devon back toward Lawson and Daki. Meanwhile, Maul's attempt to escape Janix collapses into a brutal fight with Marrok and the Eleventh Brother, leaving his followers scattered, his ship destroyed, and his already damaged leg becoming a very real problem. Maul survives because of course he does, but this is the Empire turning the screws hard. Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord, Episode 8 Title: Chapter 8: The Creeping Fear Air date: April 27, 2026 Director: Saul Ruiz Writer: Jennifer Corbett Summary: With Maul separated from his crew and physically breaking down, the episode digs into his past through hallucinations of Sidious, Savage Opress, and the trauma that shaped him into the walking red flag he is today. Two-Boots finally gets his moral compass rebooted after learning what the Empire really did to Klyce, helping Rylee escape before the group walks into yet another trap. Sul sacrifices herself to stop Blake, and Maul's surviving crew regroups just in time for a message from Dryden Vos, because apparently the galaxy's criminal LinkedIn is still very active. Meanwhile, Tim, Shaw, Keiko, May, and Monarch forces follow Titan X onto the island, Shaw and Keiko get separated, Cate escapes, and Kentaro drops the emotional trap card by claiming they can save Hiroshi. In the 1958 storyline, Keiko and Bill marry, while Bill's later obsession with rifts shows how this family has been getting emotionally nuked by monster science for decades. Rating Out of 5 When Godzilla and Titan X Stop to Have a Chat Brian: 4.01/5 Darryl: 3/5 Daredevil: Born Again, Season 2, Episode 7 Title: The Hateful Darkness Air date: April 28, 2026 Director: Iain B. MacDonald Writer: Heather Bellson Summary: Karen Page finally gets her day in court, and Matt comes out of hiding to help defend her alongside Kirsten McDuffie. The trial puts the AVTF under pressure, but Fisk's machine responds the only way it knows how: violence, intimidation, and ugly backroom damage control. Jessica Jones confronts Mr. Charles and learns Luke Cage is working overseas with the CIA, while Dex interrupts an assassination attempt on Governor McCaffrey. The emotional gut punch lands with Daniel Blake, who nearly gives BB Urich up to Cashman before finding his spine at the worst possible time. He lets her escape, refuses to reveal her location, and pays for it with his life. Rating Out of 5, Matthew Murdock for the Defense is Straight Fire Brian: 4.22/5 Darryl: 3.5/5 The Boys, Season 5, Episode 5 Title: One-Shots Air date: April 29, 2026 Director: Phil Sgriccia Writer: Judalina Neira Summary: The Boys keeps pushing the virus and chasing V1 while Homelander and Soldier Boy go hunting for answers through Stan Edgar and Mister Marathon. In Los Angeles, Mister Marathon and Malchemical try to pull Soldier Boy away from Homelander, but Soldier Boy chooses Team Daddy Issues and kills Malchemical instead. Marathon's escape turns into a blood-soaked celebrity disaster before Homelander finishes him off. Back at Vought, Sage warns Ashley that Homelander can't get V1, Noir spirals through theater-kid identity crisis hell, The Deep does Deep things, and Firecracker finally starts doubting Homelander, which goes about as well as expected. With the Imperial occupation escalating, Rook Kast warns Maul that the situation is getting worse, while Looti Vario begins questioning whether staying with the Shadow Collective is safer than running. Meanwhile, Brander Lawson finds himself caught between Imperial pressure, local chaos, and Maul's growing influence, as the arrival of the Inquisitors turns Janix into a hunting ground. Maul: Shadow Lord, Episode 6 Title: Chapter 6: Night of the Hunted Air date: April 20, 2026 Director: Steward Lee Writer: Nicolas Anastassiou Summary: Maul, Devon Izara, Brander Lawson, and the others are forced into survival mode as Marrok and the Inquisitors close in. What started as Maul rebuilding his criminal empire becomes something much more dangerous as the Empire realizes there are Force users hiding on Janix. Marrok's pursuit pushes the group into desperate choices, and when he fails to bring Maul down, he makes a mysterious call to an unseen figure he addresses as “my lord,” setting up a much larger threat for Maul, Devon, and anyone standing between them and the Empire. Rating Out of 10 Whatever Darryl Thinks Darryl: 7.9/10 Brian: DNW Monarch: Legacy of Monsters (Apple TV) Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, Season 2, Episode 8 Title: Separate Ways Air date: April 17, 2026 Director: Gandja Monteiro Writer: Mariko Tamaki Summary: Titan X makes landfall in Australia, forcing Monarch into another high-stakes monster crisis as Shaw attempts to lure Godzilla into a direct showdown. While the Titans dominate the battlefield, Isabel uses the chaos as cover for a secret operation, because apparently one giant monster fight was not enough drama for the week. The episode also pushes Cate closer to the truth about Titan X, including the discovery that the creature may not be the threat everyone assumed. Out of 5 Finally Godzilla! Brian: 3.8/5 Darry: 3.2/5 Daredevil: Born Again (Disney Plus) Daredevil: Born Again, Season 2, Episode 6 Title: Requiem Air date: April 21, 2026 Director: Angela Barnes Writers: Devon Kliger and Jesse Wigutow Summary: “Requiem” keeps the pressure on Hell's Kitchen as Fisk's grip starts to show cracks and Matt tries to make an impossible move by seeking a truce with Wilson Fisk. Around them, everyone seems to be making destructive choices: Mr. Charles makes his move, Daniel confronts BB, Powell's violence escalates, Heather snaps, and Karen nearly makes a devastating decision. The episode also brings Jessica Jones back into the mix, raising the stakes for Matt's growing resistance against Fisk and the AVTF. Out of 5 How Was Matt’s Back Not Destroyed When He Went Through the Wall Painting Brian: 3.4/5 Darryl: 3/5 The Boys (Amazon Prime) The Boys, Season 5, Episode 4 Title: King of Hell Air date: April 22, 2026 Director: Karen Gaviola Writer: Geoff Aull Summary: Homelander takes another step toward declaring himself America's new god, with Firecracker and the Vought propaganda machine helping turn his messianic delusions into a full-blown movement. Meanwhile, The Boys investigate Fort Harmony in search of V1, an early and extremely dangerous version of Compound V. The mission gets weird fast when they encounter Quinn, a scientist fused into the base itself, whose powers trigger violent aggression and infighting. Soldier Boy and Homelander clash again, Annie searches for answers about her father, Ryan walks away from Butcher, and the episode ends with Vought pushing Homelander further into cult-leader territory. Rating Out of 5 Stuck in a Uranium Filled Room Bleeding Out Your **** Brian: 4.1/5 Darryl: 3.43/5 Invincible (Amazon Prime) Invincible, Season 4, Episode 8 Title: Don't Leave Me Hanging Here Air date: April 22, 2026 Director: Ian Abando Writer: Simon Racioppa Summary: The Season 4 finale shifts away from one last giant battle and instead deals with the emotional fallout of the Viltrumite War. Mark returns to Earth shaken, haunted by visions of the people he loves being slaughtered, while Thragg reveals that the surviving Viltrumites are now hiding on Earth and gives Mark a brutal ultimatum: let them live among humans or risk Earth being destroyed. Mark reluctantly agrees, hoping to buy time. Meanwhile, Eve reveals she had an abortion while Mark was gone, Nolan and Debbie leave for Telescria to care for Oliver, and Allen is left with a terrifying choice after learning about a perfected Scourge Virus that could wipe out Viltrumites, and possibly humanity too. Rating out of 5 Mark See Thragg Everywehre Brian: 4.25/5 Darryl: 3.77/ 5 Rating out of 10 Season 5 Was So Close to Being Perfect Brian: 8.3/10 Darryl: 7.4/10 Contact Us The Infamous Podcast can be found wherever podcasts are found on the Interwebs, feel free to subscribe and follow along on social media. In which we consider the logistics of the CWS-branded pope hat giveaway. Are they inappropriate?  Are they too tall to see over?  What are the optics if pope hat-wearing fans brawl? Alas, it's not for us to determine first hand, but we do get in an inadvertent “holy crap.” In the boyfriend report we find both bombs and f-bombs where Sal is concerned, We celebrate the turnaround of slow starts by Nick, Connor, and Josh. The former boyfriend word of the way is “Pokikémon.” You're welcome. It's a low bar when we celebrate flipping off fans over homophobic slurs but here we are. Alby takes it on the chin and still goes to work. We ponder the barrier- and record-breaking sale of the Padres and its implications for collective bargaining. Five shows, one galaxy of trauma This week on the podcast, Brian and Darryl dive into Maul: Shadow Lord Episodes 3 and 4, break down Invincible Season 4 Episode 7, review Monarch: Legacy of Monsters Season 2 Episode 7, check in on Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Episode 5, and survive The Boys Season 5 Episode 3. It's a packed week of monsters, mayhem, revenge, and people making extremely bad choices with tremendous confidence. Episode Index Intro: 0:07 Maul Shadow Lord: Monarch: Daredevil: The Boys: Invincible: Maul: Shadow Lord (Disney+) Maul: Shadow Lord, Episode 3 Title: Chapter 3: Whispers in the Unknown Air date: April 13, 2026 Director: Steward Lee Writer: Julia Cooperman Summary: Devon escapes captivity only to be pulled back into Maul's orbit, where he toys with her psychologically as much as physically. While Lawson tries to juggle the Maul crisis with his failing home life, Maul escalates his war with the Pykes by hitting one of their shipments and tightening his grip on Janix. The episode leans hard into dread, temptation, and Maul's creepy mentor energy. Maul: Shadow Lord, Episode 4 Title: Chapter 4: Pride and Vengeance Air date: April 13, 2026 Director: Nathaniel Villanueva Writer: Amanda Rose Muñoz Summary: Maul makes his move against Marg Krim and forces the Pyke Syndicate into line, while Devon reunites with Daki and tries to help Lawson mount a real resistance. Lawson's raid on Maul's hideout goes badly, Daki and Devon confront Maul directly, and the whole situation gets much worse when the Empire is finally called in. Basically: everybody makes one bad decision after another, and then an Imperial Star Destroyer shows up to make it everyone's problem. Rating Out of 10 I Really Thought the Padiwan Was Going to Turn On the Lizard Guy Brian: 5/10 Darryl: 8.1/10 Monarch Legacy of Monsters (Apple TV) Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, Season 2, Episode 7 Title: String Theory Air date: April 10, 2026 Director: Gandja Monteiro Writer: Joe Pokaski Summary: Shaw receives an impossible radio transmission that pushes the season deeper into its time-bending weirdness. Cate and Keiko uncover an ancient connection to Titan X, while Kentaro gets a dangerous new offer tied to Apex's larger ambitions. The episode mixes emotional sci-fi melancholy with MonsterVerse myth-building, which is a fancy way of saying it gets sad, strange, and ominous in exactly the way this show likes. Rating out of 5 Way To Almost Erase Yourself Shaw Brian: 4.11/5 Darryl: 3.61/5 Daredevil: Born Again (Dsiney+) Daredevil: Born Again, Season 2, Episode 5 Title: The Grand Design Air date: April 14, 2026 Director: Angela Barnes Writer: Jesse Wigutow Summary: Matt's war against Fisk keeps tightening as the season hits its midpoint and starts showing more of the machinery behind Fisk's grip on New York. The title alone tells you this is an episode about schemes, structure, and people realizing they're standing inside someone else's plan. Midseason episodes like this are where the screws get turned, and this one sounds built to do exactly that. Rating out of 5 Mercy Sir… Mercy Brian: 3.6/5 Darryl: 3.2/5 The Boys (Amazon Prime) The Boys, Season 5, Episode 3 Title: Every One of You Sons of Bitches Air date: April 15, 2026 Director: Karen Gaviola Writer: Ellie Monahan Summary: Ryan goes feral, Homelander spirals further into god-complex territory, and Soldier Boy's return throws gasoline on everything. The Supe-killing virus, V1, and Vought's ugly origins all start crashing into one another while betrayals, deaths, and deeply unhealthy father-son dynamics pile up. So, you know, a normal Wednesday for this disgusting little masterpiece. Rating Out of 5 Ryan is Surprisingly Hard to Kill Brian: 4.23/5 Darryl: 3.8/5 Invincible (Amazon Prime) Invincible, Season 4, Episode 7 Title: Don't Do Anything Rash Air date: April 15, 2026 Director: Stephanie Gonzaga Writer: Helen Leigh Summary: The episode dives into Viltrumite history, revealing how Thaedus assassinated Argall and how Thragg rose to power through the empire's brutal purge of the weak. In the present, Mark, Nolan, Oliver, Allen, Battle Beast, Space Racer, and the Coalition take the fight to Viltrum, only to walk into a vicious ambush. Oliver gets horribly wrecked, Thaedus pays dearly, and the episode turns into one long slab of galactic violence and despair. Cheerful stuff. Rating out of 5 They Exploded a Whole Damn Planet Brian: 4.28/5 Darryl: 4.37/5 Contact Us The Infamous Podcast can be found wherever podcasts are found on the Interwebs, feel free to subscribe and follow along on social media. It's the episode you didn't know you needed.  Patti and the Pottymouth review all eight new City Connect uniforms at one time. A+ for Baltimore and San Diego, who are both two for two (if we round up). The Os design leans hard into what makes Camden Yards great and an understanding of the importance of neighborhood. The Pads celebrate their bi-national city by embracing multiple cultures as well as the history of the team and the city, and inviting you to do the same. Many of the new looks have their charms but we're not sold – with the caveat that if we were *from* those places we might feel differently. Cincinnati went with the thought that folks might wear 1.0 and 2.0 in the same Christmas card photo so they should go together.  Pottymouth points out that if they are going to call back to the vests, just give us the vests. The Atlanta blue is a terrific throwback but they lost us with honoring a cable station. Patti likes the MIL grill logo cap and Pottymouth likes the colors, but tell us the truth, is “Wisco” a thing? We are thumbs up on the Royals whether you call the colors bi-pride or fuschia, and the white and throwback R are working for us. We are mixed on the wavy crown. We like that PIT went pirate-y, but did they go Pittsburgh-y? TEX gets the fail by basically incorporating All Lives Matter into jersey form.  We're all the same! In boyfriend news, the C's are both raking and staying awake. Ronny walks it off, Drake is raking, and Cam gets called up to Patti's team. Miggy Ro and the Lowes are playing through loss. Ichiro's record and his bat were broken in the same week. The PWHL sells out another Garden, and Boston is embracing the Fleet in all the best ways.We say, “Bring back the biceps,” “less catching of the aforementioned f&*ing ball,” and “I love sportsing.” Fight the man, go see some live baseball, send your game balls to Meredith,, and find us on Bluesky @ncibpodcast, on Facebook @nocryinginbball, Instagram @nocryinginbball and on the Interweb at nocryinginbball.com.
