Adam makes his glorious return to the show where he describes his run in with Turkish pirates, we get on to how brutal and awesome chimps can be and there has been an update on the severely handicapped russian, Valery Spiridonov's head transplant story
A 30-year-old Russian man Valery Spiridonov has volunteered to become the world's first head transplant. His terrible, degenerative spinal disease has forced him to resort to drastic actions, but some scientists are worried that the resulting neural confusion of a human head transplant may actually be worse than death. Jeff and Anthony wonder what kind of doctor would try such a thing, and consider the ramifications. We Have Concerns is entirely listener supported! In 2017, Valery Spiridonov hopes to become the first human to have his head transplanted onto a new body. We talk to Val, his would-be surgeon Sergio Canavero, and Arthur Caplan, a bioethicist about the process. Then, Motherboard's staff talks about Cookie Clicker, our new office obsession.
