Avoiding an unwanted chapter in 2019 is the clear goal in a defining season for Vettel, Bottas and Hulkenberg. Three drivers who all face demotion if they do not perform. Vettel could lose his number one status at Ferrari if he’s beaten by his new team mate, Bottas will be replaced and lose winning machinery if he doesn’t close the gap to Hamilton in the other Mercedes and Hulkenberg faces dropping out of F1 entirely if he cannot show similar pace to incoming Renault team mate Daniel Ricciardo. On the other end we also chat about Lewis Hamilton as he goes for greatness...again. Hamilton now has 5 world championships a feat only beaten by one man, the driver he replaced at Mercedes, the legendary Michael Schumacher, who has 7 titles. Hamilton says he’s driving at the peak of his talents and he seems to be in a truly relaxed mental state but he will know he faces many threats as he tries to close in on Formula 1’s ultimate record.
