Brennan and Daniel discuss a recent situation in Glasgow where a man died after being involved in an incident with police officers.

It's not everyday you hear of gently used feminine products for sale on the radio, but one person called some in on a sister station to WCLU. Daniel is still single, and he's coping with COVID-19 by walking his cat on a harnessed leash. Brennan, on the other hand, finds the politics of the pandemic disturbing.

It's no secret: COVID-19 has taken the world over. And while things seem negative, positivity is popping up around the world, state and locally. Daniel needs a brake change, and a foot exam. OK! That's what President Donald Trump sighed out after addressing the United States earlier this week. That's what we all feel like after a week of a global pandemic, legislation limiting Kentucky's newspapers and the unfortunate departure of a wonderful Barren County teacher. Hemping across the USA? Joe Trigg, local farmer and former candidate for Kentucky Agriculture Commissioner, talks hemp and medical marijuana in Kentucky. Legislators in Frankfort continue to work legislation pertaining to medical marijuana's use in Kentucky. But, the problems farmers face before getting the product to consumers seems to be an even larger issue. Trigg discusses this and his personal experience with cultivating hemp in Glasgow and Barren County. Yet another industry has closed its doors in Barren County. For many, LSC Communications has served as a multi-generational workplace. But, the company announced it will close its Glasgow plant in early March. This not only shocked citizens but local government officials. Brennan and Daniel discuss job loss and how people may recover from a sudden job loss in and around Glasgow and Barren County. As the first full week of 2020 concludes, the start and continuation of many ideas looms around the nation, Kentucky and Glasgow. From budget to voting laws, the General Assembly has taken swift action already to initiate significant legislation. Closer to home, the Downtown Park proposal moves through committee as the Glasgow City Council is set to vote on whether they believe the park's vitality will proceed. Also, Metcalfe County looks ahead to voting on a resolution making it a "Second Amendment sanctuary city." A lot of counties are looking to take these steps as a stance toward protecting infringements on the right to bear arms, but does a resolution have power? Simpson has garnered support from several citizens over the last several months and hopes to move downtown in the right direction with a downtown park equipped with an amphitheater, splash fountain and a pavilion for the regional farmer's market. Jamie Bewely Byrd joins Brennan and Daniel this week for talks about an idea she recently had: Helping the Hardworking for the Holidays. That's why she has garnered support from local citizens to contribute money to help the hardworking during this holiday season. As you'll hear, she tells Daniel and Brennan that her goal is to serve 10 families. Hopefully that number will grow next year, and more and more gifts will make their way to families.
