Esta semana, dedicamos una nueva sesión de Rebelión Sónica, a dos discos editados este año por bandas del prolífico compositor y saxofonista estadounidense John Zorn: “The Equinox” del súper trío PainKiller y “Through the Looking Glass” del cuarteto Chaos Magick. Tras el histórico regreso de PainKiller con el álbum “Samsara” en 2024, este año el extremo súper trío experimental volvió con dos registros más: “The Equinox” editado en febrero y “The Great God Pan” lanzado en abril. De acuerdo al sello Tzadik a cargo de las publicaciones de la banda de John Zorn, el bajista Bill Laswell y el percusionista Mick Harris, “The Equinox” es la emocionante continuación del aclamado lanzamiento de PainKiller de 2024, “Samsara”, y esta vez ofrece mayor variedad y flexibilidad en su enfoque. Seis temas con diferentes ritmos y sensaciones se interpretan con la intensidad característica de PainKiller, con jazz, metal, noise, grindcore, techno y más (…)”.
