Did you know the story of the prodigal son is actually a story of two LOST sons? In this message we hear the other side of the story, the other son that is close (physically) to the father yet so far away from his heart. Too often we’re like that older brother. We can be "good" Christians and do all the right things yet so far away from the fathers heart.
When God looks at you what is God filled with? Disappointment? anger? frustration? How you answer that question says a lot about how you see our Heavenly Father. In the story of the prodigal son Jesus paints the picture of what God thinks about, when he thinks about YOU.
In Luke 15 Jesus tells three parables that talk about being LOST. He tells these parables in response to a group of Pharisees (the religious leaders of his time) who is criticizing him for eating and hanging out with people that didn't look like him, believe like him or see the world like him.
You were Made to Go More but before you can GO you have to be honest about where you are. Listen as Pastor Armando talks about the importance of commitment and what it takes to stay committed.
In todays message we are reminded that the church is not a building, event, experience or a product but that the church is a movement and the body of Christ. The world is longing to see the church be more than just a building or an organization but the embodiment of the risen Christ.
You can usually tell what someone believes in by what they wear. You see this in sports, you see this in politics and you also see this in many religions. If what we wear indicates what we believe in and trust then what are Jesus followers supposed to look like? What do they wear?In this message Pastor Drew indicates the one thing we are supposed to be known for: Love.
Every story has a beginning and an end but the most important part of every story is the author. Who is writing your story? This week we begin a series of talks on being MADE for MORE. You were created to BE MORE.
towards the end of the movie "Catch me if you can" there's a line that speaks so much truth about our lives and our culture: "Sometimes it's easier living a lie". Because of the expectations and pressure people put on us so many times we can find ourselves living someone else life. So the question we need to answer is whose life are you living? the one God has designed for you or the one culture/family/friends/church is expecting you to live?
Feelings. We all have them but many of us don't embrace them. From a very young age we are conditioned not to feel, not to cry, not to show our true emotions yet we all know that this is not healthy. Scripture shows us not to deny and not let our emotions run free but to pray through our emotions. Pastor Drew walks us through Psalms 22 and shows us what praying through your emotions looks like. Faith and Hope Church 8431 State Street South Gate, CA 12:30pm
God designed you for a specific purpose with unique gifts to be a blessing to this world. Pastor Roger Sanchez is our guest preacher and brings a timely word on the comparison trap we all tend to fall into. Faith and Hope Church 8431 State Street South Gate, CA @faithandhope.church
Everyone blames. We blame politics, we blame conservatives, we blame liberals, we blame our parents, we blame our circumstances but nothing will change in our lives until we decide to take ownership of our lives. In this message Ps. Drew explains how taking full ownership is the Jesus way and also changes your life. #faithandhope #Churchonline #fye #southgate

He brought a word timely for our church and for you in the mist of this pandemic.
