David Choe is a world-renowned artist, writer, podcaster and TV host. He tells how as a child, he was made to believe he was destined for greatness but also that he was a complete disgrace, leading him to channel his energy—including deep shame—into art that brought him global recognition. He shares about his addictions that put him on a decades-long cycle of extreme highs and lows and that forced him to eventually acknowledge and heal the childhood trauma he was battling inside. David shows up with raw, authentic presence to show us how we can transmute pain and shame into our best creative work and, more importantly, how complete vulnerability, especially about our hardest experiences, is the ultimate tool for forgiveness and self-acceptance. He also tells us the actual story about early Facebook, Pee-wee Herman and Santa Claus. Note: This conversation includes topics and language that may not be suitable for younger audiences. In this episode, you'll learn: The 4 common places Christmas disappointment shows up (and why) What to do when you feel like you have to do everything How to handle kids being disappointed without shaming them How to deal with disappointment around gifts (giving and receiving) Why it's okay to feel sad — and how to be at peace while you do The most important plan: putting YOU into Christmas (24th, 25th, or 26th) A practical, compassionate pep talk for the mom who's trying to hold it all together — and wants a calmer, more meaningful Christmas.
Noelle loves Christmas ... time with family, delicious food and gifts under the tree! What's not to love? Well, (as Noelle discovers) getting a gift you didn't ask for and didn't want feels pretty bad. Uncomfortable feelings come flooding in when she opens the gift in question. Was she stupid for imagining Christmas could be perfect? She feels so disappointed. Fortunately Shelly knows a thing or two about disappointment and 'bad' gifts - she's even written a song about it. Does getting a gift you didn't want, ruin Christmas? Is there a way to deal with disappointment? What even is a 'bad' gift? Listen to find out.DISCLAIMER: Shelly gets carried away singing about her teeth in the song "full enough cup", but tortoises don't in fact have teeth. Can't blame an ancient tortoise for letting the truth get in the way of a good narrative drive in a song!! The holidays are often full of disappointments. We expect to receive certain presents. We expect to receive certain reactions when we give presents. We expect to see certain people at family gatherings. And we're disappointed when it doesn't happen. Disappointment is a universal experience, and that's why Jesus came: to overcome our grief with his glory.

Sometimes life says “no” or “not now.”The deal falls through. The election is lost. The project stalls. And disappointment creeps in — along with exhaustion, doubt, and the question — why?I've experienced several recent disappointments — from not renting our Campobello home to election results to political decisions that prioritize short-term profit over long-term care for our planet. We will explore how Reiki helps us release resistance, shift perspective, and find the hidden gifts in every “no.” Disappointment isn't a dead end — it's a sacred redirection.Together, we'll reflect on how to pivot with grace, how to listen for the soul's guidance in the midst of chaos, and how to trust that life is always leading us — even when the road bends unexpectedly.______Pam Allen-LeBlanc is a scientist, businesswoman, and Licensed Reiki Master Teacher (LRMT) with the International Center for Reiki Training.Get in Touch with Pam:pam@reikifromthefarm.comwww.reikifromthefarm.comRegister for our newsletter! Disappointment levels are high as Eric G takes a deep dive into the underwhelming colors of the year for 2026. Seriously, I mean, have these color trendsetters even tried? It's like they all sat around a table, looked at each other, and decided to just throw darts at a color wheel. I'm all for creativity, but come on! Eric doesn't hold back as he critiques these lackluster hues, giving us a rundown of the top offenders: Pantone's ‘Cloud Dancer' gets a new name – ‘Rental White' – because nothing screams bland like a color that looks like it belongs in every cookie-cutter apartment out there. And let's not even get started on Sherwin Williams' ‘Universal Khaki', which Eric hilariously renames ‘Goodwill' due to its resemblance to the khaki pants we all donated after realizing they went out of style. Each color gets a fresh, sarcastic twist, showcasing Eric's knack for humor while lamenting the sad state of color choices for the upcoming year. But it's not just a roast of the color palette; Eric also takes a moment to reflect on the absurdities of the home improvement industry and the trends that come and go like bad fashion choices. He brings a playful irony to the discussion, poking fun at how these supposed ‘experts' have collectively dropped the ball. It's a delightful mix of sarcasm and genuine concern for the aesthetic direction of our homes. Alongside the color critiques, Eric dives into some recent home improvement news and recalls, ensuring we're not just laughing but also informed about the latest happenings in the DIY world. So, buckle up for a rollercoaster of color commentary that's as entertaining as it is enlightening! In the latter part of the episode, Eric switches gears and offers up some holiday gift ideas for the home improvement aficionado in your life. From smart thermostats to robot vacuums that do all the cleaning while you binge-watch your favorite shows, he's got the goods to make your shopping list a breeze. He even throws in some quirky suggestions, like a towel warmer, because who doesn't want to wrap themselves in a warm towel post-shower? Overall, this episode is packed with humor, insight, and a whole lot of personality. It's a perfect mid-week pick-me-up for anyone who enjoys a good laugh and a little home decor drama.Takeaways: Eric G expresses his utter disappointment with the 2026 Color of the Year selections, calling them lackluster and uninspired. In a fit of creative fury, Eric decides to rename the 2026 colors, transforming them into hilariously relatable titles that reflect their true nature. With names like 'Rental White' and 'Goodwill Bear', Eric pokes fun at the absurdity of bland color choices in home decor. Amidst all the humor, Eric does laud one color, 'Hidden Gem', highlighting that not all hope is lost in this year's palette. The episode serves as a comedic critique of the color selection process, questioning whether it was decided by a game of bingo. As a bonus, Eric shares some of his favorite holiday gift ideas, showcasing his knack for finding practical yet quirky home improvement products. The Pitt basketball took another mid-major loss on Sunday night when Hofstra beat the Panthers 80-73. On today's Morning Pitt, we're talking about the loss, what we went wrong, where Pitt goes from here and more.
Every parent watching their son strike out in the bottom of the ninth has felt that surge of frustration — not because of the strikeout itself, but because of the unspoken expectations they carry. Expectations about effort. About performance. About gratitude. About results. But here's the problem: most parents never say these expectations out loud — and because of that, players don't know the rules, don't know the standards, and don't know how to win. The result? Disappointment for parents, defensiveness for players, and a breakdown in trust that lasts far beyond a single tournament. In this episode of The Most Valuable Agent, MLB agent Matt Hannaford breaks down one of the most important — yet rarely discussed — principles in travel baseball: the difference between expectations and agreements. You'll learn why silent expectations sabotage performance, erode motivation, and create resentment…and how simple parent–player agreements can transform your son's growth, your relationship, and his entire baseball experience. Matt gives you scripts, real examples, and a step-by-step process to start having collaborative, empowering conversations with your son — conversations that build ownership, confidence, and commitment. If you've ever wondered why your son "doesn't seem to care," why you get frustrated so often, or why baseball feels more stressful than it should…this episode is the reset button your family needs. Subscribe for weekly MLB development, travel ball strategy, and leadership tools for baseball families. WHAT YOU'LL LEARN • The real difference between an expectation and an agreement • Why unspoken expectations create frustration, defensiveness & poor performance • What "leadership failure" looks like in a parent–player relationship • The exact conversation to start having with your son (word-for-word) • How agreements increase ownership, motivation, and on-field results • Why agreements work in baseball, business, and high-performance environments • How to set roles, responsibilities, and timelines that actually stick • How to build trust, improve communication, and create a healthier baseball journey ABOUT MATT HANNAFORD Matt Hannaford is a 25-year veteran MLB agent and founder of Aligned Sports. He's represented MVPs, negotiated historic contracts, and guided families through every step of the baseball journey — from tee ball to the Major Leagues. Through The Most Valuable Agent, Matt gives parents the honest, strategic insight they need to support their son's development, performance, and long-term future in baseball. This message launches the series Light in the Darkness, reminding us that even in seasons filled with pressure, anxiety, or disappointment, believers can hold on to hope. Drawing from 2 Corinthians 4:8–10, we're reminded that though we may be pressed, perplexed, or knocked down, we are never crushed, abandoned, or destroyed.Disappointment is real, but it's only an emotion — not a destiny. And while we all face moments that don't match our expectations, we don't have to stay stuck in them. Hope is found when we look for God in the middle of the darkness. His Word becomes our lamp, His presence becomes our strength, and His plan always reveals better than what we thought we lost. This message teaches us that hope has options, faith still works, and God uses every setback as a setup. When we trust His plan over our own understanding, He leads us through the valley and into purpose. No matter what this season brings, we can keep our hope — and keep it moving.

Overcoming Disappointment: Trusting God's Will • Sunday Service Website: www.PastorTodd.org To give: www.toddcoconato.com/give Disappointment is something we all face in life. Whether it's failed plans, betrayals, setbacks, or things simply not going the way we expected, the weight of disappointment can feel overwhelming. However, as believers, we have a different perspective—one that is rooted in faith and trust in God's perfect will. Today, we will explore how to handle disappointment by laying it before the Lord and experiencing the true freedom that only Christ can give. 1. Psalm 55:22 (NKJV) “Cast your burden on the Lord, And He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved. 2. Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV) “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. 3. Romans 8:28 (NKJV) “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” 4. 2 Corinthians 4:17-18 (NKJV) “For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.” 5. Isaiah 55:8-9 (NKJV) “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. ‘For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.'” 6. Philippians 4:6-7 (NKJV) “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” 7. 1 Peter 5:7 (NKJV) “Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.” 8. Jeremiah 29:11 (NKJV) “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” 9. Matthew 11:28-30 (NKJV) “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” 10. 2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV) “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” Disappointment is inevitable, but despair is optional. As believers, we don't have to carry the weight of unfulfilled expectations. Instead, we can cast our burdens on the Lord, trust in His higher ways, and rest in His perfect peace. The most freeing thing we can do is surrender everything to Christ, knowing that He is working all things together for our good. Today, I encourage you—whatever disappointment you are carrying, lay it down at the feet of Jesus. Let Him turn your pain into purpose, your sorrow into joy, and your confusion into peace.
