HyePod: Armenian Story Time with Linda

Written by Hovhannes Tumanian, narrated by Linda Kandilian and sound design by Avedis Ohanian.  There was once a mother bird that nested on a tree on a mountaintop, she looked over her baby birds and sang to them. One day, the Fox comes by and tells the mother bird that the mountain, the tree and the nest belong to him. Further, the Fox threatens to cut the tree branch if she does not give him one of her baby birds.  Will the mother bird give one of her babies away?

German fairytale written by the Grimm brothers, narrated by Linda Kandilian and sound design by Avedis Ohanian.  Snow White was the only daughter of the king and the queen. After the unexpected passing of her mother, the king decides to remarry. Will Snow White and her stepmother live happily ever after?

Written by Ghazaros Aghaian, narrated by Linda Kandilian and sound design by Avedis Ohanian. A group of animals lived and worked harmoniously together in a small town. One day after finishing the days work, the ant and the flea go on a stroll and see a creek. The flea boastfully tells the ant that it can fly from one side of the creek to the other and asks the ant if it can do the same. Without any hesitation the ant says yes. Can the ant really jump across the creek? 

Narrated by Linda Kandilian & sound design by Avedis Ohanian.  Alice and Sarkis are siblings and venture out into the forest for a stroll. Not long after, they quickly realize that they may have gone too far and start to worry. Not able to find their way back, they spend the night in the forest. In the morning, Sarkis is thirsty and drinks from a body of water in the forest which turns him into a deer. Will the effect of the water ware off or will Sarkis forever remain a deer?

There was once a hard working bee who spent the day flying around collecting nectar from a field of flowers and taking it back to the hive to make honey. After many hours of doing this, the bee gets thirsty and at the sight of a lake decides to drink the lake water. Whilst trying to drink the water, the bee falls into the water and cannot get out. Will anyone see the bee and come to rescue?

He thought that no one can surprise him. One day a man comes in with a bag on his shoulder and tells the king that he owes him a bag of gold. What will the king say? Will this be the lie that wins the man half of the king's kingdom.

Bewildered by Hasan's joyful spirit, he asks him what he would do if shoemaking was prohibited in Baghdad. Hasan assures him that he would still find a way to make a living, invite his friends to his house and have a great time. Will the King prohibit shoemaking and test Hasan's joyful spirit?

There was also a dog who had some lambskin and wanted to make a hat out of it for the winter. The dog goes and asks the cat to use the lambskin to sew him a hat. The cat agrees and one week later (and many weeks after that), the dog comes to get his hat but the hat is not sewn - will the dog ever get the hat? 

Narrated by Linda Kandilian and music design by Avedis Ohanian.  It is harvest season for the elderly grandparents who live on a farm with their grandchildren, dog and cat. Noticing that the big turnip he had once planted is ready for harvest, the grandfather goes to pull it out to cook it for dinner. With all his power, he tries to pull it out of the ground but is not successful. He then recruits his wife and together they try again, will they be able to pull out the turnip this time?

She goes to the well and thinks...if I get married, have a son, name him Gigos, and if Gigos comes here, climbs up this tree, falls down on the stone and dies...She then begins to weep over her dead son Gigos. Will her father ever get the water?

One morning, the fox passes by and as soon as she steps away, he steals the milk. The older woman catches him in the act and cuts off his tail. He asks for his tail back. She agrees to give it back if he brings back her milk, which he already drank. Will he find more milk and get his tail back?

Written by Hovhannes Tumanian, narrated by Linda Kandilian, and sound design by Avedis Ohanian.  There was once a poor man who worked hard but did not have much to show for it. Frustrated, he set into the forest to find God to tell him of the unfairness of his life and to ask that he grants him some luck.  On his way to find God, he encounters a wolf, a tree, a young lady and they all ask for favors from God. Will the poor man find God and get his and others' wishes granted?

Written by Hovhannes Tumanian, narrated by Linda Kandilian and sound design by Avedis Ohanian.  A baby goat named Sevoug and her mother live in a small hut in the forest. Sevoug stays home during the day while her mother grazes and returns home at night to feed Sevoug. When she is home, she sings for Sevoug to open the door. The forest wolf notices this routine and plans to sing the same song to get Sevoug to open the door. Will the wolf succeed?      

Written by Hovhannes Tumanian, narrated by Linda Kandilian and sound design by Avedis Ohanian.  A farmer once owned some land and 2 oxen. Over a cold winter, the oxen get sick and die. With no money to buy new oxen, he decides to rent out his land to a neighbor. Not long after, whilst digging the borrowed land, the neighbor finds a pot of gold. What will the neighbor do with the pot of gold? Will he tell the farmer or keep it for himself?

As they head out, their mother gives them food and warns about the forest wolf. Will they listen to their mothers advice or get eaten by the big bad wolf?

European fairytale written by Charles Perrault, narrated by Linda Kandilian and sound design by Avedis Ohanian.  The girl walks through the woods to deliver food to her sickly grandmother. Her mother had ordered her to stay strictly on the path and to not talk to any strangers. Will she listen to her mother's advice?

Written by Hovhannes Tumanian, narrated by Linda Kandilian and sound design by Avedis Ohanian. While playing, the bird lands on a wooden branch and injures her foot. An elderly bystander offers to remove it from her foot in return for keeping it. The bird free of the wood happily flies away. Towards the end of the day, she returns with regret and asks for her wood back which no longer exists...what will she do next?

After some failed attempts, he catches one made of gold.The fish then speaks to him in a human voice. What does the fish tell him?
