The age of discovery never ends. It's easy to forget that. Modern mapping and technology makes the world feel smaller than ever before. Yet, there's still more to learn and discover each day. You may not be the first to walk into uncharted territory, but there are worlds to explore around you now. It's a question of mindset. Approach life with a sense of adventure and you'll find it. Curiosity for the world, place and people surrounding you is what you lack. Even when you exhaust what is readily at hand to learn, reading and traveling allows you to repeat the process again and again countless times. Suit Up! Do you ever feel like no matter how many boxes you check, your to-do list just gets longer? Like you're hustling nonstop, yet peace and rest always seem out of reach? You're not alone. In this episode, we get real about the never-ending to-do list and how it can keep us stuck in cycles of stress, guilt, and exhaustion. Together, we'll explore: Why our culture's obsession with productivity can leave us spiritually drained How to shift your mindset from “I have to do it all” to “My worth is in Christ” The biblical invitation to rest and trust God—even when the list isn't done How to reframe your priorities through God's perspective Practical, faith-centered steps to find peace in the middle of a busy life We'll dig into encouraging Scriptures like Romans 12:2, Psalm 46:10, and Philippians 4:6-7, and talk about how they apply to real-life moments when you're buried under tasks and expectations. If you're ready to break free from the pressure to accomplish it all, and instead walk in God's peace and purpose, this episode will meet you right where you are—messy desk, unwashed dishes, and all. What if the key to growth isn't playing it safe – but learning how to manage risk when things start going sideways? That's been the story for John Trimble, founder and CEO of Hot Crispy Oil. He didn't set out to start a condiment company. But when the pandemic forced his family's 44-year-old restaurant to close, John took a homemade chili oil recipe from his kitchen and turned it into a fast growing brand — all without a roadmap, formal training, or ideal timing.Host Andrea Marquez unpacks what it really takes to scale a business when uncertainty never goes away. You'll hear how John navigated supply chain chaos, outgrew two facilities, and made the bold decision to buy a building – all while staying scrappy, adaptable, and laser-focused on the bigger picture. If you're trying to grow your business but keep getting hit with the unexpected, this episode will show you how to take calculated risks, stay grounded, and keep moving forward even when things don't go to plan.Got a bold leap of your own? Share it with us in an Apple Podcasts review, Spotify comment, or email us at thisissmallbusiness@amazon.com — you might hear it in a future episode. In this episode, you'll hear:(01:32) What happens when your family's 44-year-old restaurant suddenly closes? John shares how the pandemic forced a hard pivot and sparked a new idea.(04:10) Can a side project from your stovetop really become a national brand? Hear how Hot Crispy Oil started with mason jars on John's front porch.(07:11) Why keep manufacturing in-house when outsourcing seems easier? John explains the importance of quality control and adaptability.(09:38) What makes someone decide to buy a building instead of leasing? Find out how risk, necessity, and a collapsing warehouse shaped this bold move.(11:41) How do you take a leap when the data doesn't fully support it? John talks about betting on himself.(13:13) What does risk look like in the day-to-day of a growing business? From falling pallets to surprise delays, John shares how he stays grounded.(16:02) How do you handle supply chain chaos and make sure you never run out? John's strategy for managing vendor relationships and hedging against disruption.(18:50) What's your advice for entrepreneurs afraid of scaling? John explains why growth is worth the risk and how to make it manageable.
This is a Grave Talks CLASSIC EPISODE! What happens when the paranormal isn't just something you believe in—but something that's always believed in you? From an early age, Nick Graves was no stranger to the supernatural. Growing up in a home where ghosts were part of daily life, Nick didn't have to go looking for spirits—they found him. And even when he moved, the hauntings followed. In this episode, we dive into Nick's lifelong connection with the other side: from friendly spirits to darker, more unsettling presences that seemed to reach out with intention. What do these entities want from him—and why has he always been a magnet for the paranormal? Nick shares his experiences, his thoughts on what it all means, and whether he's ever come face to face with something truly negative. This is more than a haunting. It's a lifetime of being watched. What if the haunting never stays behind? From a ghostly man who floated to the edge of her bed in a San Diego home once owned by a widow, to doors opening on their own, furniture mysteriously rearranged, and plants piled high on a coffee table—this story only begins with the unexplained. The strange activity followed her to Garden Grove, California, where voices echoed through empty halls, a glowing orb charged at her, and guests were pulled from their beds. Send us a textGordon Brewer, a licensed marriage and family therapist with over 25 years of experience, joins Steve to unpack the complex relationship between trauma, grief, and emotional resilience in the first responder community. Their conversation touches on a critical but often overlooked barrier to mental health care—the fear that therapists can't handle the horrific realities first responders face daily."Sometimes people forget about how trauma manifests in different ways," Gordon explains, sharing how his background as a funeral director gave him unique insights into grief processing. Both experts explore why first responders might test their therapists by sharing graphic details, essentially asking: "Can you handle my reality?"The discussion delves into the subtle yet important distinctions between grief and trauma. For first responders who regularly encounter death, these experiences can trigger complex emotional responses, especially when they've previously tried to help someone who ultimately died. This creates layers of grief beyond the immediate situation—grief for what couldn't be prevented and the weight of perceived failure.A fascinating segment explores emotional intelligence within first responder culture. "Anger is acceptable, happiness is acceptable, the rest of it not so much," Steve notes, highlighting how limited emotional expression can prevent proper processing. Gordon adds that understanding your internal emotional landscape doesn't require displaying vulnerability publicly, but acknowledging emotions privately is essential for preventing acute stress from becoming trauma.Drawing from Brené Brown's work, they explore how vulnerability forms the foundation of courage—a seeming paradox particularly relevant for first responders. "You cannot have courage without vulnerability," Gordon emphasizes. "Just because we do the job doesn't negate the fact that we had those feelings of fear."Perhaps most powerfully, they discuss how community support facilitates healing. Gordon shares personal insights from losing his wife to cancer, illustrating how simple presence often matters more than words. They note how first responder communities excel at immediate support but often disappear after a few weeks, leaving families to navigate ongoing grief alone.Join this authentic conversation that bridges professional expertise with personal experience, offering practical wisdom for anyone navigating trauma, supporting others through grief, or seeking to build greater emotional resilience in challenging circumstances.Freed.ai: We'll Do Your SOAP Notes!Freed AI converts conversations into SOAP note.Use code Steve50 for $50 off the 1st month!Disclaimer: This post contains affiliate links. Is America really making the world safer... or just making a mess with your money? For decades, we've been told we're “spreading democracy” and “liberating the oppressed.” But what if those good intentions have led to nothing but chaos, extremism, and an eye-watering national debt? In this episode of The Brian Nichols Show, we peel back the layers of American foreign policy and ask the uncomfortable questions no one on cable news wants to answer. Studio Sponsor: Cardio Miracle - "Unlock the secret to a healthier heart, increased energy levels, and transform your cardiovascular fitness like never before.": CardioMiracle.com/TBNS What actually happens when the U.S. props up dictators, funds rebel groups, and tries to play World Police? Brian is joined by political analyst Connor Vasile for a brutally honest breakdown of the situation in Syria—and how it mirrors decades of failed intervention in places like Iraq, Libya, and Afghanistan. You'll hear how these “humanitarian missions” often lead to more violence, more extremism, and fewer Christians and minorities left alive. But it's not just Syria. We take on America's uncritical support of Israel, explore the shadowy wishlist of Middle East regime changes, and examine whether U.S. military aid is making things better—or just fueling the fire. This isn't about being anti-Israel or anti-America. It's about asking: what's the real cost of these endless foreign entanglements, and who's actually benefitting? You'll also hear why fear sells better than facts, how our leaders use emotional manipulation to justify military spending, and why Gen Z and Millennials are (thankfully) starting to push back. We even touch on New York's socialist mayoral mess and what it reveals about selling policies through emotion, not logic. If you're tired of politicians using your money to blow up sand while ignoring problems here at home, this is an episode you cannot afford to miss. From blowback to budgets, this is foreign policy stripped of all the fluff—and rebuilt with real talk, real strategy, and a vision for putting America and liberty first. ❤️ Order Cardio Miracle (CardioMiracle.com/TBNS) for 15% off and take a step towards better heart health and overall well-being!

The Rich Zeoli Show- Full Episode (04/01/2025): 3:05pm- On Monday night, Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) began a filibuster to protest the Trump Administration and its policies—claiming the administration has “inflicted pain” and rejected “common decency.” Booker is now on his 20th hour of speaking from the Senate floor and has vowed to speak “for as long as I am physically able.” While filibustering the Civil Rights Act of 1957, then-Senator Strom Thurmond set the record for longest speech on the Senate floor at 24 hours and 18 minutes. Is this Booker's way of keeping his name in the news so he can set himself up for yet another presidential run? 3:30pm- Senator Dave McCormick—United States Senator from Pennsylvania—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to discuss his new bipartisan bill to “combat the scourge of fentanyl.” Sen. McCormick also talks about his efforts to place term limits on House and Senate members, President Donald Trump's expected tariff adoption, and politicized district court judges doing their best to upend Trump Administration policies. 3:50pm- Approaching his 21st continuous hour of speaking from the Senate floor, Sen. Cory Booker conceded that “the Democratic Party has made mistakes.” Rich notes that Booker is not even filibustering a specific policy—he just doesn't like the president and won't stop talking about it. 4:00pm- On Monday night, The Atlantic published an article erroneously claiming the Trump Administration “mistakenly” deported a Maryland father to a terrorism confinement center in El Salvador. During Tuesday's press briefing, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said the magazine's story is not true and that the individual in question is, in fact, a member of the MS-13 gang—which has been designated as a foreign terrorist organization. Leavitt explained: "If you just saw the headline from…The Atlantic magazine this morning, you would think this individual was father of the year." 4:30pm- On Monday, the House Oversight Committee's Task Force on the Declassification of Federal Secrets held a hearing on the assassination of President John F. Kennedy—which included testimony from filmmaker Oliver Stone. Stone—the Director of the 1991 movie “JFK”—implored Congress to “reopen what the Warren Commission failed miserably to complete.” 4:50pm- At 4:00pm on Wednesday, President Donald Trump is expected to announce “reciprocal” tariffs on imports from foreign nations. What impact will this have on the American economy? 5:00pm- Susan Crabtree—RealClearPolitics National Political Correspondent & Author of the book, “Fools Gold: The Radicals, Con Artists, and Traitors Who Killed the California Dream and Now Threaten Us All”—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to discuss Gavin Newsom's appearance on Bill Maher where the California Governor continued to falsely portray himself as a political moderate despite historically embracing far-left policies. During the interview, Gov. Newsom refused to confirm his intent to run for president in 2028—but we all know he's going to! Plus, Crabtree talks about a disturbing new report she broke indicating Secret Service failed to respond to insider threat complaints.
