Send us a textA vaccine built for a virus might be whispering a powerful message to cancer care. We dig into a new Nature paper suggesting that mRNA COVID shots could enhance the effectiveness of checkpoint inhibitor immunotherapy—especially in non‑small cell lung cancer and melanoma—by acting as an immune alarm that sharpens anti‑tumor responses. The data is retrospective, not causal, so we break down why the signal is exciting, where confounders can hide, and what the next generation of trials must test: timing, vaccine type, biomarkers, and who stands to benefit most. From there, we switch gears to the first weeks of a dog's life. A small but detailed study of Australian breeders maps nine practical socialization steps—novel objects, varied surfaces, calibrated sound exposure, hands‑on handling, human visitors, other animals, off‑site trips, car rides, and rotating environments—that build confident, adaptable companions. We compare three rearing strategies, from uniform protocols to individual puppy plans, and connect these choices to fewer fear issues, better training outcomes, and smoother vet and grooming visits down the line.Journalist and author Melanie Kaplan joins us to share Hammy's story—a beagle rescued from a research lab—and the deeper reporting behind her book, Lab Dog: A Beagle and His Human Investigate the Surprising World of Animal Research. We talk about why beagles became the default lab dog, the emotional toll and resilience of retired animals, and the promising rise of non‑animal alternatives like organs‑on‑chips, human cell models, and computational toxicology. Dogs: Man's best friend. Cat's worst enemy. Horses' best reference for job applications. Yeah, this week is about dogs. Listen, I don't know much about dogs, and yes, I am on the do-not-adopt list at the local shelter. I'm not going to get into it here, but suffice it to say that Best Buy should rethink its policies and that there is no rule that a dog can't wear a polo and can't sign off on giving me a discount on a new TV. Anywho, this week's episode is filled with questions about boats, questions about music, and questions on death. Look, just give your ear holes a little treat and check this one out. Do it. Get out of your chair and go listen.
Week 13 of the college football season is upon us and the fellas are navigating through some brackish waters with a mixed bag of games this weekend. Folks are saying this is a down weekend because obviously the final week is loaded but there's still plenty to jump into. The Lock Doctor has re-branded himself because he's 1-5 in his last two weeks, total free-fall mode. Hartzell is also coming off a rough weekend of picks but still leads the overall standings. Felder is fired up because Thanksgiving is just 6 days away and he's cooking - literally and figuratively - with the Felder 5 this week touching on conference races in the AAC, ACC, SEC, and Big 12. We already know what's going on in the B1G but the best game of the weekend might just be in Eugene between the Ducks and Trojans. That's my Dog and Three for All never disappoint, especially when the 'Lock Dizzle' is on the mic fo' shizzleSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
The tv programme A Dog's Show ran from 1977 to 1992. It seems slightly bonkers in 2025, but for those of you who don't remember it, it was a show about sheepdogs wrangling sheep and for many it was must watch tv. Now a new feature film inspired by A Dogs Show is in production, due for release late next year.

You're nine years old, sprinting across the yard in a game of hide-and-seek you've played a hundred times. The only light is the porch glow behind you. The creek is dry, the concrete tunnels are the perfect hiding place… until you see that someone is already standing there. A broad, solid body. Pitch-black silhouette. And where the human head should be— a Rottweiler's. It's staring straight at you. The next thing you know, you're being dragged out from under the kitchen sink hours later, cabinet doors shut, cleaning bottles shoved in around you like you were packed away. You don't remember running inside. You don't remember hiding. You only remember the thing in the creek—and the way your family had been tearing the neighborhood apart looking for you. Years later, on a lonely back road bridge, someone else finally sees what you saw that night. They'd never heard your story. #RealGhostStoriesOnline #Dogman #CryptidEncounter #ParanormalPodcast #TrueScaryStory #Supernatural #CreepyCreatures #HauntedChildhood #Unexplained #ScaryPodcast #UrbanLegend #ParanormalStories Love real ghost stories?
