This week’s guest is my functional nutritionist Jackie Mulligan, and she is a wealth of knowledge. This episode is packed to the brim with useful information. Today’s interview is with Digital marketing expert Amy Porterfield. Amy is the host of the popular marketing podcast Marketing Made Easy. Today she has made over $8 million on just three online courses. She went from working with Tony Robbins to starting her own business and is out there helping so many entrepreneurs take what they do and build something really big out of it. We talked about her journey to taking the leap of faith starting her own business. We also talked about her self-image and her weight loss journey the inner work of handling her emotional eating and she shared her tools that helped her with that.

Her focus is empowering young girls and provides the most amazing inspiration and wisdom as a young woman. Sadie went gluten free at 9 years old, started a gratitude practice when she was 10 and started blogging at 12 years old. We talked about teenage empowerment, and she has a podcast helping provide inspiration with her community. We talked about her journey into body positivity, and we talked about body shaming and how there’s a norm that it’s ok to talk about someone else’s physical appearance and how we shouldn’t focus on that as much. Sadie is home schooled and we discussed her experience with that. We also talked about mindful social media use, and how she disconnects to be present. Sadie talked about the power of being boredom and the creativity that can bring. She talked about the mentors she’s had and the community she’s had to help her grow her blog. Lastly we covered what she would tell her middle school self, and what she wants to be when she grows up.
This episode I interview pharmacist turned photographer/mom empowerer Annie Vovan. Annie started the mom community Avenue Mama, after becoming a mom and finding she was lacking community. We talked a lot of different things- how she realized how important community was after having a devastating year full of loss and grief. We talked about leaping from a safe career to your passion and what she’s learned about photographing women. Annie talks about how to put a value on her time, what surprised her about being a mom and how her childhood baggage came up when she had kids. Annie talked about asking for help and how you’re not strong for doing everything on your own. She also talked about self care and how important that is. She opened up about her experience with a miscarriage and her struggles with infertility which she’s so willing to talk about to comfort other women. Lastly we talked about how to do something your family isn’t supportive, her advice to other moms, how she helps other moms discover their passion in their own businesses, and so much more.
This week we have one of my dear friends on the show, she is the creator of Goldsheep clothing- the company making the extremely fun leggings you see all over Instagram with pineapples, avocados, champagne bottles, and so much more. We talk about Keri’s idea of printing art on leggings and how she turned her passion into a thriving business. We talked about how to navigate all of the naysayers when starting a business, how to overcome anxiety and self limiting beliefs. I talked with Keri about how she started her business-we both have similar stories of starting our businesses in really small NY apartments.
