In this episode Anna and I dive into the deeply sensitive topic of the sisterhood wound. We discuss ways in which it’s impacted our lives, both in ways we’ve contributed to it and been wounded by it. We talk about our own journeys and how becoming aware of this aspect of conditioning has affected us, as well as how consciously breaking cycles and patterns have empowered us to speak up for the healing and protection of all women in regards to the sisterhood wound. This is by far the most sensitive and personal topic I’ve ever discussed publicly. Becoming aware of this cycle and then consciously choosing to break it was the single most empowering decision I’ve ever made in my life. It has changed my relationship with myself, my friends, my family, with women in general, and with society as a whole. I hope you get as much out of it as we did creating it. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/courtney-marie-barr/support

Om bhur bhuvah svah Tat savitur varenyam Bhargo devasya dhimahi dhiyo Yo nah prachodayat The Gayatri or Savitri mantra is chanted to honor the Sun and the Divine in all things and therefore dispel the darkness of ignorance. This sacred and ancient mantra offers gratitude, releases burdens and fears of the mind, and bestows wisdom. It activates Shakti energy, opens up the chakras, and brings you into union with the Divine. It is commonly chanted at 6:00am, noon, and 6:00pm as these are seen as transition times (relevant to our global transition), but can be chanted at any time of day. Chant silently or softly with a tranquil mind as often as you like. Namaste. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/courtney-marie-barr/support

“There is no light without shadow, and no psychic wholeness without imperfection.” - Carl Jung Within each of us we have a shadow. Part of ourselves we’ve been conditioned to deny, distrust and disown. It is by acknowledging, witnessing, accepting and integrating these parts that we can find true “oneness.” But what is the shadow? How was is made? What happens when we deny it? And how do we start doing the work to unearth what’s been buried and start to appreciate the treasure that lies there? It’s messy, it’s uncomfortable, it’s challenging, and it’s some of the most sacred work we can do in this life. Join me in this conversation as we dive into the fascinating world of Shadow Work. In this episode I talk with Soul Movement Yoga owner, friend, and my “in real life” spirit guide Malaurie Barber. We chat about how she bravely followed the inner knowing of her soul and changed her career and her life, her spiritual awakening and the remembering of her unique spiritual gifts, reincarnation and past lives, and how she went from successful real estate broker to massage therapist to yoga studio owner. We discuss how our paths crossed and how important it has become in our own lives to step away from the status quo and about the new normal we’ve created for ourselves, in hopes it will inspire others, who feel that same call, to take the risk and do the same! Also, included a ghost story involving pot brownies! An episode not to be missed! If you're loving the episodes please rate and review us on iTunes! I appreciate your support! As I was recording our Trauma podcast, I realized that ALMOST ALL of the symptoms associated with PTSD and trauma related to Chinese Medicine (or TCM - short for Traditional Chinese Medicine) diagnosis patterns and have the ability to be treated very effectively using this healing modality. So instead of trying to explain it in that podcast, I figured I'd start at square one. Especially since - without a doubt- this topic will be one I come back to over and over again!
