Hi everyone. As many Autistic people know, we all have these meltdowns. The medical term is called sensory overload. It means that your brain can't process all the information coming to your brain. Therefore, emotional or physical reactions release all the information that is in the brain to make room for new information. There is many different ways you can support yourself during a meltdown. From watching tv to playing with your favourite toy. IT IS IMPORTANT TO HAVE YOUR OWN PERSONAL SPACE WHERE YOU KNOW EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO CALM DOWN AND TO LET OTHERS KNOW THAT YOU NEED SOME TIME ALONE.
Hi everyone. Smart home devices can be beneficial to those with autism as you can do many things with it. For example, setting alarms and adding things to a shopping list. It is all in one place and I find it beneficial.
Hi everyone. All Autistic people have a degree of sensory issues. These can be minor thing like too hot or cold to more complex thing such as a bedroom with a different type of bedding, wrong lighting and it's too hot. This can cause a meltdown which is not good for you or your family/friends/peers. I am now starting patreon where you can support the podcast even more. You get many things like exclusive voting, behind-the-scences and more. Link: https://www.patreon.com/Autism_hub. Sophie.price.stuart for Instagram. Discord I am in the process of setting up.

Bear in mind this is my experience and your experience could differ from mine depending on your location and age.
Today we will be discussing what autism is. I will give you my opinion as well as information off the NHS website (UK only).
In the episode, I will be telling you about my life and how I got to where I am today.
