for our next edition of Real Life Rave Confessions, we’re mixing up the concept a bit. We asked you to send us your demos, and we’re going to rate them while broadcasting live on air via Twitch, with the help of our special guest, the PAN recording artist formerly known as Heatsick, aka the musician, writer and visual artist Steve Warwick. We’ve received 186 submissions, so obviously we’re not going to get through them all, but maybe we’ll do a round two. Help us decide by calling in or joining the chatroom. Sybil Jason is a Haitian-American multi-disciplinary artist from New York City. Since 2004 she has been involved in the underground music scene of NYC most notably as a DJ known for her particular brand of genre-bending sonic rapture with nods to her roots, fueled by electric energy & vast musical influences. A move to Europe in 2014 saw her transfer her music blog FARCED into a radio show on Berlin Community Radio as well as indie radio in both Barcelona & Paris, before returning to New York in late 2018.

They say one person’s trash is another’s treasure and in the hands of DJ Bus Replacement Service, aka Doris Woo, throwaways achieve transcendence. A fondness for left of the dial music that began as a child, her techniques have evolved to scour the murkiest corners of the web in search of music (loosely defined) that no other DJ on earth would come across, let alone have the gall to play out.

john twells is a Wolverhampton-born club creature based mostly in the USA. john has been responsible for editorial at Boomkat and FACT, recorded music under various names, run labels, worked at record stores, fitted bass systems, established and maintained club nights, run radio shows and been a cog in the underground electronic music machine for two decades.

HE VALENCIA aka Aloiso Wilmoth is an Indiana-based artist / DJ / producer exploring the intersections and permeation of techno and other experimental electronic music. He uses these mediums to explorer greater themes of diaspora and Afrofuturism.
