Beloved in Christ, join us in this soul-stirring exploration of Romans 3:9-20, where St. Paul boldly declares that all—Jew and Gentile alike—are held captive under sin's shadow. With heartfelt wisdom, we delve into humanity's universal fall, the law's inability to save through fleshly weakness, and God's glorious remedy: righteousness by faith in Jesus Christ alone. Drawing from ancient liturgies of holy baptism and the Church Fathers, discover how free will led to corruption, yet divine grace lifts us to eternal inheritance. A faith-filled reminder to cling to the Good Shepherd's perfect goodness, seek His will daily, and live out deeds of love. Amen—may this message ignite your heart for deeper obedience!Rom 12:2John 10:11;151 Cor 13:9Phil 3:12-141 John 3:6

Does the audio on this sound weird? I though it sounded weird and I even made a little intro tag to be, like, "I know the audio sounds weird, sorry," but then I listened to some bits again and it didn't sound bad. So, I don't know. Anyone, prepare for your new favorite character: Fermando.

Do you consider yourself courageous? How do you define courage? Today, the louder you are, the braver you seem. Our culture says courage means standing up for yourself, being ready to argue, to win the debate, to make your point. Even in churches, being loud is often confused with courage, and bitterness masquerades as boldness. We hijack what true courage is, mistaking it for political passion. We venerate cultural outrage & call it virtue. But Scripture flips that completely. It says real courage isn’t about being louder, it’s about laying yourself down. If our version of courage isn’t aimed at making disciples, it might get likes and reposts, but it’s fake. It’s not courage. It’s arrogance dressed up as conviction. It’s self-righteous, self-serving temper tantrums that look courageous for a moment but are powerless for Kingdom work. Biblical courage isn’t about cultural or political battles. It’s faithfully proclaiming the only truth that can actually save anyone, no matter what the obstacles to that might be. Because when the church’s courage gets hijacked by anything other than the Gospel, we lose our prophetic voice.

When was the last time you felt at peace? Does joy feel distant for you right now? Is life wearing you down? If so, this sermon’s for you. Because John teaches us something profound: Real joy in this life is always tied to truth. Not circumstances, not emotion, not success, but when we are walking with God’s presence, in truth. Do you know what the difference is between happiness and joy? If you’ve been at GraceLife for a while you might. Happiness is circumstantial. Happiness depends on what happens. It’s a conditional emotion. But joy is not happiness. Joy survives a bad medical report, a lost job, a catastrophic life event, or even what seems to be unanswered prayer. Happiness is fragile. But Joy isn’t. Joy endures when circumstances change, sustains you when everything falls apart. But most of us have confused the two. We talk a lot about wanting joy, but most of what we chase isn’t joy at all. It’s happiness dressed up like joy. We chase the next moment, but all it takes is one hard day for it to disappear. And then we are confused, perplexed, even bitter when it seems Joy is elusive, unattainable, or unsustainable. If you’ve lost your joy, its not because life got harder. Perhaps it’s because circumstances have tested your anchor, revealing your drift from the presence of God, from truth, or, if you were anchored to the wrong “truth” to begin with.

In John 20 we find Jesus risen from the dead, as discovered by the women who arrived early at his tomb. The women tell the Apostles, who remain sceptical. Peter and John ran to the sepulchre and find it empty (the younger John outrunning the older Peter). John stands at the sepulchre's entrance, taking in what he observes. But the ever impetuous and baffled Peter goes in. John sees evidence of the Lord's resurrection in the way the grave clothes were laying. Jesus' first appearance following his resurrection is to Mary Magdalene, who mistakes him for the gardener (an apt error as he is the one through whom Eden i.e. the paradise, or garden of God - will be restored). Our Lord tells her not to hinder i.e. delay him since he has not yet ascended to his Father. Read aloud verse 17 - pause and ponder. Jesus was not God - he was a grand, incomparable and glorious man (read Psalm 45: and Hebrews 2). Later that night Jesus appears to his Apostles and gives them the Holy Spirit. "Doubting" Thomas is not with them and refuses to believe their report without physically putting his fingers into the wounds in Jesus' hands and side. Eight days later our Lord provides Thomas with that proof. Verses 30-31 state the objective of the narrative written. Slowly read those verses aloud and ponder their words. Chapter 21 contains the eighth sign John outlines in the catching of the 153 great fish. It occurs in Galilee and the chapter also deals with our Lord's resolution with Peter over Peter's threefold denial of his Master. The miracle reflects the time of the Apostle's call to follow the Lord. The 153 fish certainly represent those who are saved in the gospel net. The gematria of the Hebrew expression "the sons of God" is 153 and may be the intended message. Peter is three times asked by his Lord as to whether he has a love for Jesus. Christ asks Peter whether his love for his Master exceeds that of the other Apostles. The first two times Jesus uses the Greek word " agape" and Peter responds with Greek word "phileo" - meaning to have affection, or to be a friend. Peter is grieved when on the third occasion Jesus asks whether Peter has a 'strong affection' (phileo) for Jesus. An exchange occurs between Jesus and John as our Lord prophesies the manner of Peter's death. John concludes his record by stating how vast were the Lord's acts and that what was recorded was but a small sample. Thanks for joining us - we pray you found these comments helpful in your appreciation of God's words, join again tomorrow

“The people who were standing nearby said, ‘See how much he loved him!’” (John 11:36 NLT) Mary, Martha, and Lazarus were siblings and friends of Jesus. When Lazarus got deathly ill, Mary and Martha sent a message to Jesus: “Lord, your dear friend is very sick” (John 11:3 NLT). Theirs is a story of hope, although that’s not immediately apparent in the biblical narrative. In our last devotion, we saw that the first takeaway from the story is that life involves pain, sorrow, and death. The second takeaway is spelled out by Lazarus’ mourners in verse 36: “See how much he loved him!” (NLT). The Lord loves us. God describes His love in Jeremiah 31:3: “I have loved you, my people, with an everlasting love. With unfailing love I have drawn you to myself” (NLT). Whatever God does or allows to happen in our lives is motivated by His everlasting love for us. Mary and Martha knew that Jesus loved them—and that He loved Lazarus. That’s why they sent for Him. They reacted perfectly when crisis hit. They took their troubles to Jesus. Look at the basis for their appeal. They didn’t say, “Lord, You owe us. We fed You. You and Your friends crashed at our house.” They didn’t base their appeal on their love for Him; they based it on His love for them: “Lord, your dear friend is very sick.” Our love is fickle; it fluctuates. The Lord’s love for us never changes. John 11:5–6 reveals Jesus’ response to Mary and Martha’s message. “So although Jesus loved Martha, Mary, and Lazarus, he stayed where he was for the next two days” (NLT). When Jesus finally arrived, things were bleak. Lazarus was no longer sick; he was dead—and had been for four days. His body was decomposing. Not only did Jesus not heal His friend, but He also missed the funeral. If that seems like a less-than-loving response, it’s because we can’t grasp the depth of the Lord’s love. Jesus wanted Mary and Martha to see the bigger picture. He wanted them to understand that because they trusted in Him, death was no longer their enemy. He wanted them to embrace the hope of resurrection. Neither Martha nor Mary could see the big picture at first, so they focused on the smaller picture—on what seemed like Jesus’ callous disregard. Both sisters confronted Jesus with the words, “Lord, if only you had been here, my brother would not have died” (verses 21, 32 NLT). Again, they took their problems to Jesus. And that’s what you need to do when suffering and trials come your way. Some people say, “Don’t ever ask God why.” I say ask God “why” as much as you want. Just don’t always expect an answer. Be honest with Him when you pray. Say, “God, I’m not happy right now. I don’t understand this. I’m hurting. This doesn’t make sense. Why did You let this happen?” Jesus Himself said from the cross, “My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?” (Matthew 27:46 NLT). In the end, though, we live on promises, not explanations. Along with asking “why,” we should ask “what”—as in, what am I supposed to do? The answer is, turn to the Lord with your pain and grief because He loves you. The book of the prophet Haggai addresses the people of Judah who returned from exile and who had prioritized making their homes comfortable while neglecting to rebuild the Lord's temple. The letter known as 2 John is addressed to “the elect lady and her children” which is most likely a reference to the church body to whom he was writing. In it, he encourages the church to continue in love and to reject false teaching. In 3 John, the apostle commends his friend Gaius, who is likely a pastor, and writes to warn him about Diotrophes who loves attention, power, divisive speech, and who probably already had an active social media following. In the letter from Jude, we see a saint who zealously defends the faith against false teaching and practice.Haggai 1 - 1:12 . Haggai 2 - 4:10 . 2 John - 10:12 . 3 John - 12:41 . Jude - 15:14 .
