Bikes. They are cool, lots of people love them! Why? they give us freedom, fun, and the feeling of flying. Oh yeah, flying. Birds do that! In this podcast I will be talking about bicycles, bicycling, and talking to folks in the industry. And, I will add in a little fact about birds somewhere in each episode! Because I can!
Ian talks birds birds birds with a very special guest and Colin takes a long-awaited vow of silence. If YOU have any bird or bike questions that you'd like to hear answered on the next podcast reach out to ridinbirdypodcast@gmail.com or shoot a DM on instagram to @ridinbirdypodcast; or if you want to tell Colin McDonough he talks too much, shoot him a DM directly to @Eggbertwaxman, maybe he'll let you pick his brain as an apology.
We talk about what may be the lightest production bicycle of all time, tell you about insensitivity from an industry giant's CEO, Andrew asks about some birds that can't fly, and we touch more on keeping active during the cold season. If YOU have any bird or bike questions that you'd like to hear answered on the next podcast don't hesitate to reach out to ridinbirdypodcast@gmail.com or shoot a DM on instagram to @ridinbirdypodcast; or if you want to tell Colin McDonough he talks to much, shoot him a DM directly to @Eggbertwaxman, maybe he'll give you some free stickers as an apology.
If you want any sort of substance from this you should only listen to the last 5 or so minutes for some bird info. The rest is useless. Please enjoy :) lol

This week I recap my first ever century with my good friend Shop Colin. We talk through what I experienced on my ride, what I saw, and how I felt.We also talk a very short bit about the current state of the world, after the murder of George Floyd, and countless other Black Americans. Next week, I will delve into this even more after 2 weeks of researching and trying to get interviews. If you would like to donate to a cycling challenge raising money for two DC Non-profits, One DC and the Advancement Project. Hi guys! Thanks so much for tuning into my first ever episode of Ridin' Birdy! This one is short and sweet. I just talk about some of the key people and bikes that got me into cycling and why I have grown to love cycling so much. I also tell the story of my first "real" bike and how I got it. Then I run through the current roster of bikes sitting in my relatively small apartment... oops. And, of course, I spoil you with one neat bird fact.*** One quick correction..in the podcast I mention the Co-op Cycles ADV 3.1 and say it has a Deore 3x10 drive train and that is incorrect. It is Deore 2x10 and I totally forgot until today when I rode one again!Email me at ridinbirdypodcast@gmail.com with any episode ideas or just general ideas on how to make the podcast better. Thanks so much for listening :)
