This past week should have reminded everybody that baseball is a long season. The Phillies followed a gruesome 1-9 stretch – a lot of people thought they were dead -- with a 5-1 homestand against the Cubs and Blue Jays. The offense came to life against two playoff-caliber teams. Brandon Marsh (1.167 OPS), Alec Bohm (1.128 OPS), Otto Kemp (.898 OPS), J.T. Realmuto (.980 OPS), Max Kepler (1.300 OPS), Trea Turner (.820 OPS), Nick Castellanos (.808 OPS) and Kyle Schwarber (.869 OPS) each had big moments against the Cubs and Blue Jays. So did the rotation, led by Zack Wheeler, Ranger Suárez, Cristopher Sánchez and Jesús Luzardo. First Pitch is powered by betPARX Sportsbook and Casino app. It's “Best Week” by Manco & Manco Pizza! Episode 177 Chapter 36, Modern Turntablism. Works Recommended from my book, Electronic and Experimental Music Welcome to the Archive of Electronic Music. This is Thom Holmes. This podcast is produced as a companion to my book, Electronic and Experimental Music, published by Routledge. Each of these episodes corresponds to a chapter in the text and an associated list of recommended works, also called Listen in the text. They provide listening examples of vintage electronic works featured in the text. The works themselves can be enjoyed without the book and I hope that they stand as a chronological survey of important works in the history of electronic music. Be sure to tune-in to other episodes of the podcast where we explore a wide range of electronic music in many styles and genres, all drawn from my archive of vintage recordings. There is a complete playlist for this episode on the website for the podcast. Let's get started with the listening guide to Chapter 36, Modern Turntablism from my book Electronic and Experimental music. By Michael Gendreau and Suzanne Dycus-Gendreau. 04:11 45:08 11. Christian Marclay, from Record Without a Cover (excerpt, 1999). Marked with instructions, "Do not store in a protective package," my copy is a reissue of the disc first released in 1985, done by Japanese label Locus Solus. The naked record will naturally become increasingly damaged from shipping, storing, and playing the record, all becoming part of the work. In essence, the owner is implored to progressively destroy the release, allowing it to become scratched and bruised from accumulating damage that make each copy unique. My copy actually skips a lot. In the passage I am playing I often had to press the needle down a little bit to get through a skip. There is faintly recorded jazz music found on some of the disc, while other parts are pretty much composed only of surface noise. 04:31 49:18 12. On this episode of Grease the Wheels, Uncle Jimmy goes into some of the backend programming of our customers in regards to what the media has made our profession out to be for the last 50+ years. As a profession, few trades have been maligned to the extent of the automotive trades, and this is especially true in media depictions. Let's be clear, we have seen some criminals in this trade -- but it is actually a lot more rare than you would think. However, more often than not the line is a lot more blurry than we, our customers, and even the shops that employ us would like to admit. The more pressing issues to todays automotive customers is the massive gap that exists between the seasoned professionals, and the newbies. Are you getting ripped off if someone fails to properly fix your car right, possibly - but more often than not the easy fix is to bring it back in and make it right! There is an incredible ground-swell though in the media perception war that has been waged against this profession, and it comes in the form of the Video MPI. This entire process brings levels of transparency that the customer simply cannot refute. Best of all, we're going to teach all of your how to do it! More on that later! Also Uncle Jimmy goes 2 for 2 on thunderstorms during recording!

The journey between hospital departments can be the most dangerous part of a patient's perioperative experience. This eye-opening episode dives deep into the hidden risks of intra-hospital patient transport. We examine the current literature on transport safety with particular focus on the challenges faced by anesthesia professionals. The data is sobering — between 4-9% of transported patients require medical intervention due to transport-related complications. With increasing production pressure, decreased support personnel, and rising patient acuity, we ask the critical question: are we transporting patients safely? We break down transport-related adverse events into essential categories: respiratory, cardiovascular, neurological, and equipment-related. The 2023 I-TOUCH study provides valuable insights, showing cardiac events, respiratory complications, neurologic issues, and equipment problems as the most common challenges during transport. We explore how patient factors (age, illness severity, ventilation requirements) and system factors (transport duration, communication gaps, staff experience) contribute to these risks.Beyond patient safety, we discuss the often-overlooked physical risks to anesthesia professionals themselves, who report high rates of work-related musculoskeletal injuries from maneuvering heavy transport equipment while managing patient care. The good news? Evidence-based guidelines exist to mitigate these risks. Join us next week as we continue this crucial conversation with practical recommendations from the American College of Critical Care Medicine and the Society of Critical Care Medicine for safer perioperative patient transport.Have you experienced challenges during patient transport? Share your experiences and learn from colleagues by emailing podcast@apsf.org or visiting apsf.org for more resources on perioperative safety. For show notes & transcript, visit our episode page at apsf.org: https://www.apsf.org/podcast/258-wheels-of-risk-when-patient-safety-rolls-through-hospital-corridors/© 2025, The Anesthesia Patient Safety Foundation

This week on Musings from the Mount, we explore a topic much larger than current cultural conversations - the concept of ages, cycles, and our place within the vast movements of time itself. What started as research into political and social transitions expanded into something far more comprehensive: understanding how we exist within "wheels within wheels within wheels" of cosmic cycles. Drawing from Vedic traditions and esoteric wisdom, we examine the transition between Kali Yuga (the age of destruction and mental analysis) and Satya Yuga (the golden age of synthesis and heart-centered consciousness). We discuss how these vast cycles affect everything from individual consciousness to collective human experience, and why we're living at a particularly significant alignment point. The conversation moves from mind-boggling cosmic timescales - like the 311.04 trillion year cycle of Brahma - down to practical human experience. We explore how different types of time affect us: "TikTok time" (our quantitative, clock-based experience) versus "Kairos time" (the qualitative unfolding needed for true growth and completion). Whether you're feeling overwhelmed by rapid change or curious about humanity's larger evolutionary journey, this episode offers perspective on living consciously within time's rhythms. We discuss practical applications like honoring all four seasons in our projects, understanding passages between life phases, and learning to see and hear with the heart rather than just the mind. Meditation Mount and HeartLight Productions are pleased to present Musings from the Mount – a weekly podcast with host Joseph Carenza and guests in conversation exploring a range of topics drawn from the Ageless Wisdom teachings. Most people fear a $43 million debt. Harvey Firestone called it “invigorating.” When his company faced collapse in 1920 and his executives panicked, Firestone seized control. He fired the sales manager, slashed prices 25%, and personally ran the sales department. It worked—not because he managed through fear, but through clarity. Firestone was the founder of the Firestone Tire and Rubber Company—an outsider who built one of America's iconic industrial empires by doing the opposite of what everyone else did. This episode isn't about tires. It's about how Firestone quietly built one of the great businesses of the 20th century by asking two deceptively simple questions: Is it necessary? Can it be simplified? This episode breaks down the invisible principles behind Firestone's success: positioning over talent, inputs over outcomes, discipline over drama. If you lead a team or simply want to lead yourself better, this story is a masterclass in building enduring advantages. Tesla's story in India has been more like a stalled engine than a roaring electric debut—despite years of headlines, high-level meetings, and hopeful tweets. While the Indian government did slash import duties on premium EVs from a staggering 110% to a friendlier 15%, it wasn't enough. Because for Tesla, this isn't just about taxes. It sounds ominous to hear our Savior telling the disciples to make no mistake about it, “In this world you will have trouble.” There are going to be times in our lives when it's going to feel like the wheels fell off. However, Jesus does't leave us to rely on ourselves or say, “Good luck.” Instead, He assures us, “But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

We explore friendship and emotional well-being through conversations with two sets of special guests who share powerful insights on maintaining happiness even when others aren't kind.• Emma and Ada demonstrate how friendship can thrive despite attending different schools by making intentional time for each other• Best friends don't need to be exclusive – having other friendships is healthy and necessary• The Fishmans share how their popular "Bucket Filler" books originated from Nechama's kindergarten bullying experience• Everyone has an invisible emotional bucket that fills with good feelings when full and empties when sad• When someone is mean, it's because their bucket is empty – understanding this helps you not take it personally• Filling others' buckets through kindness automatically fills your own bucket too• Being "bully-proof" means staying happy despite others' unkindness• Finding people who make you feel good is more important than forcing yourself into unfriendly groups• Simple acts like smiles and compliments can significantly impact someone's day• Parents should work through schools rather than directly contacting bullies' parents
