Mental health perspectives from all walks of life will be discussed here. The stories of authors, artists, fighters, and many, many more will be shared; stories about drive, struggle, and all of the experiences that give us the determination to carve our own paths in the world. At our lowest moments…
See It Through with Derek Pennington
As a sort of companion piece to our last episode, we delve into the obsession with professional wrestling (and why it's absolutely awesome). The roles are flipped this time around, where Derek has been a fan of pro wrestling since he was 3, and while Kylie is familiar with that world and some of it's more noteworthy performers (no Undertaker slander will be tolerated in this house; much like with Derek not understanding her love of true crime, when Kylie looks at pro wrestling she gets the sense of "...I don't get it."Come for the Dusty Rhodes impression, stay for the nostalgia.#ProWrestling#Nostalgia#SeeItThroughPodcast===================Audio only version of the podcast is available on all major platforms (Apple, Google, Spotify, Stitcher, etc.). Kylie loves true crime; Derek is conflicted about his feelings on it. Let's talk:The True Crime genre is booming across all sorts of media; YouTube, podcasts, Netflix - You name it. As a couple split on the entertainment value of true crime, we delve into just what is so gripping about these stories, and how the insanity that is the human condition ties into just about everything (from true crime, to regional accents, to pro wrestling).#TrueCrime#TrueCrimePodcast#SeeItThroughPodcast

After getting bombarded with Instagram ads for companies like Hims, Keeps, Jawzrsize, Chisell, and a lazer helmet that costs $1100 actual dollars to keep your hairline in check (allegedly), we felt that the absolute nonsense of pressurized beauty standards really needed to be drawn and quartered.
Megan is an awesome content creator, graphic designer, and crafter of all things cute and crochet (Yes, I'm proud of my alliteration there). We had an awesome conversation on a broad range of topics; From diet, to content creation, to how she's basically putting snake oil salesman/MLM Company names in the DEATHNOTE - We covered a lot of ground. Thank you to Megan for the time and awesome conversation, and without further ado, please send some love to a fellow Michigander.===================Where you can find and support Megan!Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/MeganAnneSaysHelloInstagram: @heylookitsmeganEtsy: https://www.etsy.com/shop/MadeStation
This episode I talk about how coming off meds was a BAD idea for me. I also discuss about how depression can affect people in different ways and also more or less just let the story telling current take me where it may.
Lynsi of the Kinda Healthy Podcast joins the show where we go into a ton of varied and interesting subjects. From roller derby, to living off the grid, to many, many more. The Kinda Healthy Podcast is an awesome show, where people from all walks of life discuss general health and wellness - What their "kind of" health is. Respect for the great talks, even more respect for the great pun.
Been sitting on this for a long time, but it absolutely needed to be said. Fair warning - This episode gets me pretty heated about the very niche fitness subculture, so for those more focused on mental health discussions, this may be one to skip.
My amazing wife joins us this episode, and we go in deep on the finer points of navigating mental health through a long term, committed relationship.

BandiPat is an incredibly talented and multifaceted YouTuber, and it was an absolute pleasure to have him (and to a lesser extent Zorak) on the podcast. He has been upfront about mental health on his own channel and was more than generous with discussing things with me. All in all, he's an awesome person who makes awesome gaming and music related content, and it is with great honor that I introduce to the podcast: BandiPat! *gets blasted by Space Ghost laser* ================================================== SUPPORT OUR GUEST: YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/user/SJPatitucci Twitch - https://www.twitch.tv/bandipat Twitter - https://twitter.com/BandiPat96 ================================================== WHERE TO LISTEN TO THE PODCAST: Apple Podcasts - https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast... I've known Bryan for a while now, with him being the founder and coach of Maverick Muay Thai and me being a student with the team. Outside of being a great Muay Thai fighter and coach, he's genuinely a thoughtful, intelligent, and philosophical human being, and I feel very privileged to consider him a good friend. We had an awesome talk about the magic of Muay Thai, building an ego in a healthy way, and a broad spectrum of other topics under the mental health umbrella. I hope you all find listening to this as enjoyable as I found the conversation! ================================================== SUPPORT OUR GUEST: Maverick Muay Thai Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/pages/category/Boxing-Studio/Maverick-Muay-Thai-101466354681877/ Maverick Muay Thai Instagram: @maverickmuaythai ================================================== WHERE TO LISTEN TO THE PODCAST: Apple Podcasts - https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast... Amir Rad has an awesome story (literally, he wrote a great book), and I'm so happy we were able to sit down and discuss the finer points of motivation, facing your fears, and pushing through doubts and hard times. It's hard not to be motivated listening to his story, and I hope you all go out and attack the day after hearing this discussion. A huge thank you to Amir for being an awesome guest, and for welcoming me into the amazing Thrive Fitness and Martial Arts facility for recording. Hope you all enjoy listening as much as I enjoyed recoring! I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Nick Rose for a good amount of time now. In the past we've waxed poetic on The Warriors, dissected the weird vowels of the Midwest, and both somehow had simultaneous mental breakdowns playing fictional public access television hosts. In the present, we had a tremendous conversation covering topics from celebrity, to creativity, to sobriety to many, many more. It was an honor and privilege to speak with one of my oldest internet friends, and I hope you enjoy listening as much as we enjoyed talking SUPPORT OUR GUEST: Twitch - https://www.twitch.tv/bardactor Twitter - https://twitter.com/bardactor?fbclid=IwAR3H3ia88snpShOwJcHFc2QblQuDJQizfMe4l-IFriKXlg5vzi3B6gdejEo AUDIO LINKS FOR THE PODCAST: Apple Podcasts - https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/see-it-through-with-derek-pennington/id1493477721?uo=4 Spotify - https://open.spotify.com/show/1ki700Ler5W12HUZ6hQNyg Google Podcasts - https://www.google.com/podcasts?feed=aHR0cHM6Ly9hdWRpb2Jvb20uY29tL2NoYW5uZWxzLzUwMTM5MTcucnNz CastBox - https://castbox.fm/channel/id2537167 Deezer - http://www.deezer.com/show/767032 iHeart - http://www.iheart.com/podcast/270-See-It-Through-with-Derek-55371354 RadioPublic - https://radiopublic.com/see-it-through-with-derek-penning-WlKzjw Stitcher - http://www.stitcher.com/podcast/see-it-through-with-derek-pennington YouTube Channel - http://youtube.com/onelinederek When at your darkest hour, when in the midst of chaos, when crisis is the norm... In the time honored tradition of being not creative and lazy, allow me to let my awesome guest Wolfkaosaun tell you about themselves! "Hey! I'm Wolfkaosaun. I do comedic video game reviews. I specialize in improv, sketches, and heavy edits within my videos. I just like to make people laugh while also being informative as well. Also there's a sentient Sock that shows up every now and then" We dive deep into a lot of topics in this episode; positive, negative, sad, and inspirational. I want to give a true and heartfelt thank you to Wolfkaosaun for sharing his incredible stories, and bringing an honesty and brevity to mental health discussions that can really help people out. In the classic fashion I am starting right now, I asked my guest, Michael Downie to write an introduction for himself: "Today I’m speaking to a good friend of mine. We met back in the older, halcyon days of YouTube content creation where no one knew PewDiePie was a racist, Fortnite didn’t exist and you could find an audience by simply being a dork and playing your favourite games. Since those days he’s come off the platform, made some music, written a novel, smashed his way out of a glass cage of emotion and rebuilt his life from rock bottom. He’s a student of sumptuous, stupendous, symphonic, smilies, synonyms, syllables and synthesisers, a man who hates unnecessary alliteration and is the owner of a mighty fine beard." I am thrilled to have such a good friend and all around genuine, interesting, and intelligent person as the first guest on this podcast. Ladies and gentlemen, without further ado... Michael Downie!
