I was a huge Space Ghost fan as a kid and was super excited to see that Dynamite Entertainment managed to secure the rights to bring him back to the comics medium again. With a rogues gallery that rivals Batman: Moltar, Brak, Zorak, Metallus... there's so much for a creative team to develop and explore in terms of a modern interpretation. Added bonus, it is written by returning guest David Pepose who stopped by to tell me all about it. We get into the process and potential pitfalls of writing an iconic IP like this, how important Jan, Jace, and Blip are to this new storyline, and who our own ideal casting would be if Space Ghost were ever made into a live action movie. Space Ghost will be released in stores on May 1st. Make sure to call your local shop and reserve you a copy . With advance orders of over 67K, this is going to be a big one y'all. This week the word is Trackanon, which the nerds start by explaining. Then Andy talks about a tree that almost fell on his house and how he bought a chainsaw to cut it up with. He also carries out about the joy of Ryobi power tools and their interchangeable battery packs. Keith reports on various topics including the saga of his ten frozen Giordano's pizzas and what's currently going on in his D&D campaign. Other topics include the start of season 4 of Westworld, different styles of stand-up comedy, Zorak on “Intergalactic Love Connection,” the villainous roles of David Warner, a bar in Ithaca called the Rongovian Embassy, Mythic Quest's “A Dark Quiet Death,” the Marvel Comic and Cinematic Universes, and Andy's plans for the epic game he plans to run at Burning Man, called Dustworld.
We've killed our father. In our slightly-related quest to united rebel factions, we're tripping over fresh graves, investing in a murderer and executioner, dismissing a bloodsucking vampire lord as a rumor, hearing the word NECLORD, finally recruiting Marco, stacking blacksmiths, faking out a lore flashback, testing exactly one gender norm, losing a fight to a vampire, failing to express warrior-sanctioned masculinity, requiring yet another magic weapon, finding Zen and Morgan at a temple, and insulting a talking sword. We are destined to gather together under Master Tir's sign. 00:00 Intro | 03:43 Who Are We Fighting Next | 06:13 Lorimar Fortress | 12:58 Warrior's Village | 24:55 Zorak's Cabin | 32:08 Neclord Takes His Bride | 38:08 Vampire Hunters | 40:28 Qlon Temple | 46:26 Fuiken | 50:54 Cave of the Past | 53:45 Real Net | 58:41 Outro Get more Retrograde Amnesia: Support us on Patreon at patreon.com/retroam. We've got a triad of topics coming at you on today's edition of It Was a Thing on TV here at Place to Be Nation. First, one of our favorite shows back in the day was the Saturday morning cartoon preview show that generally aired the night before the premiere of the new fall Saturday morning lineups. In 1985, CBS went all out, producing an hour-long show with Rowdy Roddy Piper and celebrities ranging from Pee Wee Herman to Herve Villechaize to Captain Lou Albano to Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Who knew CBS' Saturday morning cartoons ran until 2 PM! Next, we take a look back at the very first appearance of our favorite trio on Space Ghost: Coast to Coast. The Aqua Teens looked a lot different when they paid a visit to Space Ghost, Zorak and Moltar. We explain the differences between this and the regular series as the course of classic rock is changed forever in this episode, thanks a lot Space Ghost! Finally, 20 years ago this week, a game show scandal broke in the UK, as Major Charles Ingram, his wife, and another contestant collaborated and coughed their way to £1,000,000. The trio later went to trial over the matter. Listen to this episode and judge for yourself whether the money was hard earned or hardly earned. With this week being the 20th Anniversary of Aqua Teen Hunger Force as a regular series on Adult Swim, we take a look back at the very first appearance of our favorite trio on Space Ghost: Coast to Coast. The Aqua Teens looked a lot different when they paid a visit to Space Ghost, Zorak and Moltar. We explain the differences between this and the regular series as the course of classic rock is changed forever in this episode, thanks a lot Space Ghost!

This week we're taking a break from Hellworld 2020 and returning to the comedy albums of our youth. Specifically, we're discussing Space Ghost's Musical Bar-B-Que and Space Ghost's Surf & Turf, the two soundtrack albums from Cartoon Network's Cartoon Planet. For the unfamiliar, Cartoon Planet was the sister show to Space Ghost Coast to Coast, in which Space Ghost and his pals Brak and Zorak sing silly songs, perform comedy skits and just generally be goofballs. If you were young in the mid-to-late 90s, you probably stumbled across this show late at night and wondered what the hell you were watching. On this episode, we cherrypick a few favorites from these albums, which is no small feat. Both albums together feature nearly fifty songs, so we're only scratching the surface! Believe it, buddy! Karl Logan - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karl_Logan#Arrest On October 25, 2018, it was revealed that Logan was arrested on August 9 in Charlotte, North Carolina for allegedly possessing child pornography and was charged with six counts of third-degree exploitation of a minor. His bail was set at $35,000, which he had since bonded out.[8] The band issued a statement shortly after saying that he would not perform with them on their last world tour.[9] Evidence revealed that Logan was in possession of several videos depicting young girls between ages 4 and 12 years old engaging in a variety of sexual acts with unidentified men. According to arrest warrants, the offenses took place between June 18 and August 2, 2018.[10] Martin Croker - Croker abruptly died in his home in Atlanta, Georgia on September 17, 2016, at the age of 54.[3][4] No cause of death has been publicly given.[4] Adult Swim honored him by re-airing the first Space Ghost Coast to Coast episode produced, "Elevator", on September 19, 2016 as a special presentation.[5] The tribute began with a brief description of Croker's contribution to Space Ghost and Adult Swim, with the words his character Zorak said in one episode, "Think of Me when you Look to the Night Sky", then the episode played. After the episode aired, it showed "C. Martin Croker [1962-2016]". In the wake of the news of his death, Croker's friends and colleagues, such as his Coast to Coast friends George Lowe and Andy Merrill, paid tribute to him in posts on social media. Adult Swim has made almost every episode of Space Ghost Coast to Coast available for free on their website in honor of him.[6] On September 24, 2016, at the beginning of Toonami, TOM receives a transmission from Moltar, telling him that he's returning to his home planet and isn't coming back and then boasts that he was the better Toonami host. TOM then wishes Moltar the best of luck and says, "May your oven stay forever lit." It then shows an image of Croker, with the words "(1962-2016)".[7] For the rest of the story - https://www.cartoonbrew.com/animators/the-legend-of-c-martin-croker-adult-swim-animator-and-voice-actor-162399.html https://www.cinescapemagazine.com/ https://www.patreon.com/acoupleofaveragejoes https://radiopublic.com/cinescape-magazine-podcast-G7pnZB

First the guys discuss production issues each of their companies are currently dealing with, including delays caused by overseas manufacturing. Keith talks about a new D&D campaign he's running, and about Zorak's search for a new henchman. Andy talks about Wickerman, a regional Burning Man event he and his friends had just returned from. Media topics include Wonder Woman, other superhero shows, and a web-series about one man's search for the worst movie ever. After lowering the Spoiler Curtain, they discuss the latest episode of Fargo and the season finale of the Americans.SPOILER WARNING: Spoilers inside!
An animator and voice actor, Clay Martin Croker is best known for having provided the voices of Zorak and Moltar on the animated series Space Ghost Coast to Coast, replacing Don Messick, who originally voiced the characters in the 1960s series Space Ghost. One of the original animators for Cartoon Network's Adult Swim, he helped make the network what it is today. Croker served as an animator for Aqua Teen Hunger Force, and its 2007 feature film adaption Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theaters. Fans will know him as the voices of Dr. Weird and Steve. Croker abruptly died in his home. We recount how his work effected us and talk about some of our favorite pieces.

If you hated The Suicide Squad then you'll love its better, older, smaller budgeted, better scripted film. That I think the novelization of The Suicide Squad even stole from. I read an article about how the novel expanded on (industry code for 'made better') the backstories of the villains, and gave Killer Croc a fear of heights. Which King Shark displays in this film. So fuck your stupid ass Novel. Also Happy Halloween! We review Batman: Assault on Arkham Starring Kevin Conroy and a Mark Hamill soundalike. Also we pay our respects to C. Martin Croker. 'Clay' to us, and nothing short of a powerhouse animator that laid the groundwork for [adultswim] and made everything we do here in Georgia possible. Voice of Zorak and Moltar, exceptional animator, and all around great guy. He will be missed. He also posted on Facebook once that he hated Grandma Got Runover by a Reindeer. So he had excellent taste too. The password for this episode is : Suicide Squad Halloween Batman Joker Harley Quinn Direct Download

They'll talk about the history of the characters of Space Ghost, from the 1960's Hanna-Barbera cartoon "Space Ghost and Dino-Boy", to Adult Swim spin offs like "The Brak Show", and even DC Comics like "Future Quest"! They'll also discuss the great voice work of the late C. Martin Croker, who voiced the hilarious villains Zorak and Moltar and the great musical work of the late Sonny Sharrock. Boy, if you think Rem could drone on about MMO’s wait until Brandon talks about Elder Scrolls! It’s…well it’s tame by comparison. The guys also reveal their next appearance at the Parkersburg Pop Con, slated for October 8th, 2016 at the WVU-P campus! The European Commission is working to provide free WiFi for major European cities, with a few caveats. Five Nights at Freddy’s gets a live-action attraction at Circus Circus’ Fright Dome in Las Vegas. Kanye West appears to have nothing but Johnny Cabs to share in response to the National Highway Traffic Administration’s new guidelines for the development of Highly Automated Vehicles. The meat-and-potatoes of today’s episode really revolves around advertisers and internet marketing, specifically revolving around the #YouTubeIsDead movement, but I promise, it’s interesting enough to listen to without being super boring! Especially since we have almost no working knowledge on the subject! A Toronto teacher tells a student to lick her where she farts (good follow-up, right?!) His bail was set at $35,000, which he had since bonded out.[8] The band issued a statement shortly after saying that he would not perform with them on their last world tour.[9] Evidence revealed that Logan was in possession of several videos depicting young girls between ages 4 and 12 years old engaging in a variety of sexual acts with unidentified men.
