The Dan and Mordecai Show

Picks up where episode 7 left off, and dissects the strange last episode of Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction. Featuring Andie Basto and Ryan Lina.

Dan and Mordecai decided to come out of podcast retirement for a very special, two-part episode, with yet another dive into the greatest television show ever made. They are joined by returning guests/Jonathan Frakes scholars Andie Basto and Ryan Lina.

Even though Dan is currently sitting in prison on charges involving a murder plot and the illegal sale of large cats, he and John Nagle explore the world of old Hollywood and talk about the 1947 film Kiss of Death, starring a man for whom John reserves the utmost contempt. Dan is cooperating with the D.A. to help them put Mordecai in jail forever.

Jonathan Frakes' charms were too much to resist, so once again Dan finds himself joined by Andie Basto and Ryan Lina to dig a little further into the greatest television show ever made. Not only that, but they uncover some awkward facts about the author whose work inspired the TV show, as well as some exciting news about Mr. Frakes himself. Are we telling the truth... or are we Frake-ing you for a ride?

Dan and his guest Scott Seiss ponder the profoundly bizarre Cartoon All-Stars to the Rescue, a 1990 anti-drug cartoon extravaganza. All your favorite Saturday morning cartoon characters come together to scare the bejeezus out of a stubborn teenager whose arcade buddies like to carry around loose cocaine and buy ten-dollar crack. In this episode you'll get to learn all about E.T.'s estranged cousin Nukie, star of a 1987 ripoff of the Spielberg film. Stepping in for Mordecai to review Nukie is special guest Rose Vineshank, who has not seen the movie. Thankfully Dan assists her with a detailed plot summary, random audio and video clips, and a few quotes taken out of context. It's an episode that would make Charlie the Chimpanzee proud.

Dan talks with Ryan Lina and Andie Basto about one of the greatest TV shows ever made, Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction. On a weekly basis this show challenged us to guess which of its made up stories were made up. (The answer: All of them. They were all made up.)

Dan is joined by Ray Easter to explore the depths of quantum jumping, a technique for maximizing one's potential by... stealing it from alternate versions of oneself. This suggests that perhaps we can improve this podcast by borrowing techniques from other Dans and Mordecais.
