RUNDOWN In the aftermath of the Mariners' heartbreaking Game 7 loss to the Blue Jays, Mitch Levy and guest co-host Danny O'Neil of The Dang Apostrophe open Episode 355 with Danny confessing that he's “pretty mad,” venting at an online heckler named Tad Piland while Mitch directs his anger toward the Fox broadcast crew for comparing Toronto fans' “long wait” to Seattle's five decades of heartbreak. The conversation pivots to the Seahawks, whose 27-19 win over Houston somehow feels more lucky than convincing. Danny rails against red-zone play-calling and Cooper Kupp's gadget-pass interception, while Mitch notes that at 5-2, Seattle still looks like a playoff team in a vulnerable NFC. In the season's final Mariners No-Table, Mitch is joined by Brady Farkas (Refuse to Lose Podcast) and Joe Doyle (Over Slot) to dissect Seattle's crushing Game 7 loss to the Blue Jays in the ALCS. The trio reflect on the gut-wrenching ending, the broadcast's “Toronto sympathy” narrative, and the irony of yet another near-miss season for long-suffering Mariners fans. Both guests try to balance heartbreak with appreciation for an unforgettable year that included Cal Raleigh's historic 60-homer season, Brian Woo's rise to ace status, and J.P. Crawford's clutch moments. The crew breaks down Seattle's Monday Night Football win over Houston — a game defined by the defense and marred by offensive miscues. Brady and Jacson praise Ernest Jones and Drake Thomas for anchoring a top-five-level unit that pressured C.J. Stroud all night, holding Texans running backs to just 31 yards. On offense, Sam Darnold's four turnovers and a baffling Cooper Kupp trick-play interception left points on the field, but Jackson Smith-Njigba's 123-yard night and a late show of maturity salvaged it. CBS analyst Rick Neuheisel, presented by Taco Time Northwest, returns to unpack a chaotic Week 8 — from Indiana's Kurt Signetti leading the Hoosiers to No. 2 in the nation to Clark Lea's Vanderbilt stunning LSU. Rick tells the underdog stories of the year: two former football “afterthoughts” now crashing the playoff picture. He credits Signetti's “bet on himself” coaching path and calls Vandy's 2025 run “one of the greatest modern turnarounds in college football.” GUESTS Daniel Timothy O'Neil | The Dang Apostrophe on Substack Brady Farkas | Host, Refuse to Lose Podcast (Mariners on SI) Joe Doyle | MLB Draft & Mariners Analyst, Over-Slot Substack Brady Henderson | Seahawks Insider, ESPN Jacson Bevens | Writer, Cigar Thoughts Rick Neuheisel | CBS College Football Analyst, Former Head Coach & Rose Bowl Champion TABLE OF CONTENTS 0:00 | Game Seven Gut Punch: Seattle's Sports Hangover Hits Hard 4:35 | BEAT THE BOYS - Register at MitchUnfiltered.com 8:08 | Two Runs from Glory, Miles from Satisfaction 31:47 | GUEST: Mariners No-Table; Game Seven Heartbreak: Mariners Fall Short of the World Series in Toronto 1:02:40 | GUEST: Seahawks No-Table; Defense Carries Seattle to 27–19 Win as Darnold Struggles and JSN Shines 1:28:04 | GUEST: Rick Neuheisel; Indiana's Miracle Run, Vandy's Rise, and Dabo's Slide — Rick Neuheisel on the Wild State of College Football 1:55:43 | Other Stuff Segment: Shohei Ohtani's three-homer ten-strikeout masterpiece, Washington's missed chances in Ann Arbor and upcoming Illinois matchup, Florida firing Billy Napier with speculation around Jed Fisch and Lane Kiffin, Seahawks bye-week talk and whether Tyler Lockett could return, Teoscar Hernandez refusing to stay at Milwaukee's haunted Pfister Hotel, ghost stories, and baseball superstition. In Episode 329 of History in Five Songs with Martin Popoff, Martin digs through the decade's heavy underground to find traces of early U.S. doom metal—spotlighting bands like Sir Lord Baltimore, Blue Öyster Cult, and Kiss—while concluding that true doom wouldn't fully take shape in America until years after Black Sabbath set the template. Opie kicks off with a hilarious throwback clip of KISS legend Ace Frehley crashing Jim Norton's birthday on the old O&A show—complete with Jimmy's wild childhood Kiss beatdown fantasies and a botched "New York Groove" cover. He pays tribute to the late Ace as the "nicest guy in Kiss." Then, unfiltered rants on: Trump's pardon of George Santos (and why politics is a "dirty game"), the chaotic NYC mayor race with Zohran Mamdani poised to win amid Cuomo-Sliwa beef, epic No Kings Day protests (including old folks in wheelchairs hating Trump), and Diwali vibes—celebrating light over darkness, good over evil. Family movie night disasters: The 2015 Vacation reboot holds up better than the "pile of shit" 1983 original (RIP tit shots & stereotypes), Blended flops hard, and Adam Sandler gets roasted as overrated. Plus, shots at haters, Twitter trolls, and living in the light. Raw, real, and packed with O&A memories—don't miss this sunrise stream from Manhattan!

Kevin Nash and Sean Oliver kick off this week diving into AI simulations that blur the line between fantasy and reality. From imagining Tyson vs. Frazier to de-aging themselves into a 1991 version of Kliq This, the conversation explores how artificial intelligence could rewrite sports, entertainment, and even history. But as Kev warns, it all comes at an electrifying cost. The mood turns cosmic when Nash brings up “Atlas 31,” a mysterious object moving through space that some conspiracy corners believe isn't just a meteor. What starts as a chat about science spirals into cyanide emissions, alien theories, and how much energy humanity's digital future will really take to sustain. Back on Earth, Nash unpacks the bizarre world of tariff insurance, connecting billion-dollar bets to politics and Wall Street's newest obsession. He then takes us 35,000 feet up with stories from a claustrophobic transatlantic flight—proof that being 6'10" comes with its own turbulence. The pair also debate CM Punk's comments about airport autograph hunters, sharing firsthand stories about wrestling's gray area between fandom and harassment. Nash recalls the tricks, scams, and even a few Sharpie-based revenge tactics from his years on the road. Finally, the episode closes with a flurry of nostalgia and sharp insight—from MTV's fall from cultural dominance to the vanishing art of residual checks and the danger of cold plunges. This week, Guest Host Donovan Adkisson joins Jason DeFilippo to wade through the usual tech chaos; California is attempting to regulate the inevitable AI companion chatbots, which is timely, considering ChatGPT is about to launch erotica (with age verification, natch). Turns out, most of the world is less stoked about our algorithmic future than Silicon Valley is. Speaking of chaos, Elon Musk's Boring Company racked up nearly 800 environmental violations in Vegas, and his Starlink satellites are burning up the atmosphere, validating the Kessler Syndrome predictions (and ruining backyard astronomy). On the ground, Georgia Tech is deploying drone first responders, ensuring campus security is instantly airborne, while the UK's Online Safety Act slapped 4chan with a hefty fine. We also mourn a Crypto Kingpin who met his end in a Lamborghini following a market crash. Finally, beware that "perfect" house listing, as the owner likely used AI to virtually enhance that curb appeal. It seems even the guy who coined the term "Vibe Coding" admits that relying on AI for complex software is "Net Unhelpful," proving that humans still have to do the heavy lifting—a fact Uber might ignore, as they plan to pay drivers to train AI between rides. Speaking of dumb human stunts, some genius launched the "World's First Waymo DDoS" by summoning 50 robotaxis to a dead end. On the entertainment side, it's time to binge Gen V before Season 5 of The Boys drops; also, why did Apple rename Apple TV+ to Apple TV? The guys also discuss the eternal cultural resonance of Idiocracy and the perfection of Galaxy Quest (and its fantastic documentary, Never Surrender). On the work front, Jason switched back to Things 3 because life is too short for ugly software, even as Windows 10's impending end-of-life threatens to create an e-waste disaster. This week Tom & Zeus review the 1977 Love Gun which was in support of their 6th studio album, Love Gun. This is SIOL's 11th KISS tour reviewed. Love Gun was released on June 17, 1977 and the tour began on July 8, 1977 in Canada and ended September 5, 1977. This is probably KISS at its peak. The band was still continuing to get bigger and better. This is before the solo albums, before the movie and before the major cracks began to take its toll. The stage for the tour is probably the most famous, with the staircases and Peter's drum riser. The costumes are probably KISS' most famous as well. The setlist featured 5 new songs from Love Gun and many of the classic songs from the first three albums, including Deuce were dropped. As usual, the guys breakdown the costumes, stage, set list and overall tour. They then rank the costumes, stage, set list and overall tour against the previous 10 tours reviewed so far. So pull out your Love Gun and enjoy KISS at its peak and another great tour episode! A little gritty political drama, a little technicolor musical, a little revolutionary politics, a little ahead-of-its-time queer representation…Kiss of the Spider Woman has been a novel, a play, an Oscar-winning movie, a Tony-winning Broadway musical, and now a Bill Condon movie musical starring Jennifer Lopez, Diego Luna, and relative newcomer Tonatiuh. LA-based film critic Carlos Aguilar joins us to get into the enduring allure of Spider Woman, and to name some bleak movies that could be jazzed up with a little old-timey movie-musical interlude. What's GoodAlonso - Bulgarian State Woman Choir on Johnny Carson in 1990Drea - Bed Bands (wholesome)Carlos - New episode of Storage WarsKevin - The Craft at CinespiaITIDICApple TV Streaming Drops “+” From its NameThe TiVo Era Has Ended, Officially NowAnnie Hall Returning to Cinemas in Honor of Diane KeatonStaff PicksAlonso - Orwell: 2+2=5Drea - Blue MoonCarlos - It Was Just an AccidentKevin - Battle Royale Follow us on BlueSky, Facebook, Instagram, or LetterboxdWithKevin AveryDrea ClarkAlonso DuraldeProduced by Marissa FlaxbartSr. Producer Laura Swisher
