Harry Styles just released his new album Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally. It's his fourth solo album since leaving the boy band One Direction, and the follow-up to Harry's House, which won album of the year at the Grammys. The new album is a fairly radical departure, inspired by dance floors and post-punk music. But it still swoons, as any Harry Styles record must.Subscribe to Pop Culture Happy Hour Plus at plus.npr.org/happyhour To manage podcast ad preferences, review the links below:See pcm.adswizz.com for information about our collection and use of personal data for sponsorship and to manage your podcast sponsorship preferences.Learn more about sponsor message choices: podcastchoices.com/adchoicesNPR Privacy Policy

Jon Bon Jovi is still showing vocal struggles in public performance, this time during a Tony Robbins appearance. Zakk Wylde revealed the song that first made him want to pick up the guitar and explained his motivation for opening for Black Label Society. If you woke up today feeling like a raccoon that got hit by a clock, congratulations — you survived Daylight Saving Time. The Rizzuto Show crew rolls into the studio extra groggy and immediately starts questioning why society still does this whole “change the clocks and ruin everyone's Monday” thing. Apparently only a tiny percentage of people actually like the time change, and based on the energy in the room today… those people are clearly not listeners of this daily comedy show.Moon also drops a realization that hits way too close to home: he thinks he was legitimately sick all last week and didn't even realize it. Which explains the random dark thoughts, exhaustion, and that strange moment where everything in life felt terrible for no reason. Turns out sometimes your brain just needs a reminder that you're not miserable — you're just sick.Meanwhile, the gang dives into one of the weirdest studies ever released: New Music Friday might be causing car accidents. Apparently super fans are so excited about new album drops that they're scrolling through track lists, reading lyrics, and switching songs while driving 65 mph. In other words: people are literally dying to hear the new record. Maybe just hit shuffle and keep both hands on the wheel. The show also checks in on Rafe's ongoing mission to get into Canada so he can complete a ceremonial trip with the Blackfoot Nation — which now apparently involves mountains, lava rocks, sweat lodges, and a stand-up comedy performance for the entire community. The only problem? Canada isn't exactly thrilled about letting him across the border.Plus:AI transparency coming to streaming musicThe terrifying incident involving Rihanna's homeMachine Gun Kelly fans falling through the stageDave Mustaine considering an acting career (yes, really)A debate over whether KISS are technically clownsThe weirdest celebrity solo music flops everIt's chaos, questionable science, celebrity nonsense, and the usual Monday brain fog — exactly what you expect from your favorite daily comedy show.If you're looking for weird news, pop culture commentary, and a group of radio hosts trying to function on one less hour of sleep, this episode of The Rizzuto Show daily comedy show delivers all of it.Follow The Rizzuto Show → linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → 1057thepoint.com/RizzShow.Hear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

The Rizz Show crew proves once again that no topic is too ridiculous for a deep dive. This episode of the comedy podcast kicks off with a surprisingly serious debate about the band KISS. With their iconic face paint, costumes, and theatrical stage shows, the question becomes unavoidable: are they technically clowns? The gang breaks down Gene Simmons' own comments about the makeup while arguing whether rock legends can also be considered circus performers. From there, the conversation takes a turn toward romance… or at least what passes for romance in modern times.A new survey reveals that a huge percentage of people have dedicated bedroom playlists, which naturally leads the show down a rabbit hole of questionable “sexy songs.” The crew reacts to the list — featuring artists like Ed Sheeran, Ginuwine, and Boyz II Men — while sharing stories about middle school dances, awkward slow songs, and why some music choices may actually ruin the mood instead of improving it.But the real chaos begins when the show starts discussing the hidden meanings behind common dating phrases. When someone says “let's just be friends,” do they mean it literally? What about “I'm fine”? The gang attempts to decode the subtle language people use in relationships — with Lern providing the much-needed female perspective while the guys attempt (and mostly fail) to interpret the signals. And then the conversation hits the internet's most uncomfortable hypothetical.A viral question asks couples what they would do if a DNA test revealed they were secretly related. Would you stay together if you discovered your spouse was your cousin? What about a sibling? The crew debates every scenario imaginable, from accidental cousin marriages to the complicated family tree math that comes with it.Naturally, things escalate quickly as the gang tries to figure out what that would mean for kids, genetics, and whether your child would technically also be your niece or nephew. Yes… the conversation goes there.By the end of the episode, the show has explored rock band clowns, questionable romantic playlists, relationship psychology, and some truly confusing family genetics — which is pretty much exactly what you expect from a chaotic comedy podcast like this one.If you enjoy sarcastic humor, weird news, pop culture commentary, and completely unhinged debates between friends, this episode delivers everything you love about a daily comedy podcast.Follow The Rizzuto Show → https://linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → https://1057thepoint.com/RizzShow.Hear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Are the members of KISS technically clowns… and if so, does that make their music a circus act? Because once that question gets asked, the entire show spirals in the best possible way.Welcome back to another daily comedy show episode of The Rizzuto Show, where today's topics somehow include clown makeup, sexy playlists, and the kind of family tree confusion that makes everyone double-check their last name. The gang starts off debating a question that absolutely nobody asked but now everyone must answer: Are the members of KISS actually clowns? The band literally uses “clown white” makeup… Gene Simmons himself has admitted it… and suddenly the studio poll is split. Is it an insult? Is it accurate? Or is it just another weird rock trivia rabbit hole that spirals into a full on comedy debate? From there the show shifts into Sexy Time Fun Facts, where a new survey reveals that 68% of people say music or TV scenes can instantly put them in the mood. Which leads to the crew sharing their own… extremely questionable bedroom playlists. From Massive Attack's moody electronic vibes to the ultimate throwback love-making music like Enigma, the conversation quickly turns into a hilarious breakdown of what songs actually belong on a “sexy soundtrack.” Some of the picks are romantic… some are aggressively nostalgic… and some might make your partner immediately leave the room. Then things get even more chaotic when the show runs through the most popular “bedroom songs” people claim they use for romantic moments. Let's just say the list includes everything from slow jam classics to songs that probably shouldn't be played anywhere near a bedroom unless you're trying to ruin the mood forever.Along the way the crew dives into weird nostalgia about middle school dances, awkward grinding moments, and the universal teenage experience of trying to act cool while a slow jam plays in the background. Somehow the conversation moves from R&B classics to genuine questions like: What does Ginuwine actually do these days? (Spoiler: he apparently has nine kids, which honestly tracks.)And because this is still The Rizzuto Show — a daily comedy show that thrives on weird conversations — the episode wraps up with the kind of chaotic discussion that could only happen on a morning show where nobody filters their thoughts before speaking. So whether you're here for rock music debates, relationship chaos, or the weirdly scientific breakdown of sexy playlists… this daily comedy show episode has it all.Follow The Rizzuto Show → https://linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → https://1057thepoint.com/RizzShow.Hear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Dans L'album de la semaine, Margaux Lassalle s'intéresse au très attendu nouveau disque de Harry Styles, "Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally". Nick welcomes WLS-AM producer and movie obsessive Tom Hush back for another round of Tom Hush's Theater of Trash. This time the spotlight is on the late-80s surfer crime oddity Red Surf starring George Clooney and Gene Simmons of KISS. Tom breaks down the movie's strange charm, the ridiculous plot, and why parts of it feel suspiciously close to Point Break. It turns into a very funny appreciation of a very strange movie. Esmeralda Leon joins Nick later and the conversation shifts to the western comedy Goin’ South starring Jack Nicholson and John Belushi. From there things take a weird turn into celebrity clone theories, starting with the idea that Jim Carrey has somehow been replaced. That leads to a hilarious rundown of other famous “replacement” conspiracy theories that have floated around for years. It's trash cinema, classic comedy, and some wonderfully ridiculous speculation. Send a textIn Episode 2 of my Signature Song series, I'm tackling the easiest calls in rock history—the No-Brainers. These are the bands where the “signature song” debate basically ends before it starts… because the general public hears the band name and instantly thinks of one track.Along the way, I revisit what a signature song really is (hint: it's not always the most streamed song, and it's not necessarily the “best” song), and why these four bands have signature songs that have taken on a life of their own—woven into arenas, radio, movies, TV, karaoke, and pop culture. And I'm doing this to start a conversation, so I want to know - do you agree these are the signature songs… or is there a better argument for different tracks? Drop your pick in the comments!

“He's looking at me…”   Released on August 22, 1989, CLIMBIN' THE WALLS, the major label debut album from Martinsburg, West Virginia thrash metal savants WRATHCHILD AMERICA, is undoubtedly one of the most uniquely profound thrash metal albums in all of heavy metal history to be crafted by one of the most extraordinarily talented (and criminally underrated) bands in the entire genre.    And to think, for many metalheads back in the day, their very first experience with this album was in a LIVE concert setting, opening for Testament. Just imagine how blessed one would be to see a band as unbelievable as WRATHCHILD AMERICA (for the very first time) opening for an established act like Testament and being completely blown away after just one show, having NEVER heard the album before getting to see them LIVE!    “He's making eye contact…”   With a stylistic palette that blends thrash, heavy metal, and 70's classic rock, there is absolutely NO ONE else in metal who sounds ANYTHING like them. And if you're jonesing to purchase a copy of CLIMBIN' THE WALLS, not to worry, because it was recently re-released (along with their second and final album, 3-D) as part of a two-CD package with a couple of bonus tracks.    “Is he still lookin' at you?”   Get ready for a trip back through time to the days of yore, when thrash was still riding high and the opening band for Testament absolutely blew the minds of everyone in attendance when you JOIN US for one of the greatest and most underrated metal albums of all time with WRATHCHILD AMERICA: CLIMBIN' THE WALLS.   (Also, just in case you might be wondering, there's an early (we're talking “6 years ago, during the Hodges Era” early: 02/20/2020) episode appropriately dubbed WRATHSAZ, which is a combo episode featuring both WRATHCHILD AMERICA and the darker, groovier, heavier incarnation that followed, Souls At Zero.)   Visit www.metalnerdery.com/podcast for more on this episode Help Support Metal Nerdery https://www.patreon.com/metalnerderypodcast Leave us a Voicemail to be played on a future episode: 980-666-8182 Metal Nerdery Tees and Hoodies – metalnerdery.com/merch and kindly leave us a review and/or rating on your favorite Podcast app Follow us on the Socials: Facebook - Instagram - TikTok Email: metalnerdery@gmail.com Can't be LOUD Enough Playlist on Spotify Metal Nerdery Munchies on YouTube @metalnerderypodcast Show Notes: (00:01): “See? We get into why it feels like everyone has to say something about everything these days, how filming charity for views can actually make the whole thing feel kind of gross, and why St. Joseph's quiet, private life is honestly the better way. We cover: - How even priests catch themselves wanting to look holy online. - How silence and just doing your job for God beats all the noise. - That viral clip of Shia LaBeouf saying he'd just kiss Jesus' feet and nothing else — raw faith or virtue signaling? - The trap of judging the people closest to you while preaching to strangers on the internet. ––– 00:00 Hospital Visit Story 02:01 Pride and Hidden Motives 03:35 St Joseph and Silence 06:33 Social Media Noise 12:57 Charity for Views 16:23 Judgment at Home 18:24 Priesthood Not Politics 21:53 Wonder vs Curiosity 27:37 Mother Olga Hidden Works 29:15 Old Internet Nostalgia 31:33 Shia LaBeouf's Honesty 34:27 Saints Who Struggled 36:00 Embracing the Fight 38:35 Shia LaBeouf Clip 41:33 Meeting Jesus Today 46:03 Tacos and Party Game 53:11 Chaotic End ––– ▶️ Video version of this episode: https://youtu.be/7aw2sHO8GhM

First Concert Memories #32 - Iron Maiden with Brian Slagel, CEO Metal Blade Records

When we first interviewed Metal Blade Records CEO/Founder Brian Slagel, one of the true godfathers of heavy metal, he told us about his first ever concert - KISS on the Alive! Tour in 1976. Talk about a high bar to live up to for rock n roll live production!?! Who would he find that can deliver such a live performance? The answer is Iron Maiden, the heavy metal pioneers that Brian has witnessed live over 300x, who incorporate all kinds of props, blistering playing, lights, pyro and even an enormous mascot, Eddie. Brian takes us back to 1981 as Maiden were opening for Judas Priest. Brian tells us how he sold the album Killers in his record store to help promote the band he loved and sought out every album and single from the New Wave of British Heavy Metal he could get his hands on. So he jumped on a plane to Houston to see his favorite band. Hear how Brian was thwarted by Texas cops as he attempted to headbang, how his buddy gave him a ride to interview Steve Harris at the hotel after the show and the power of Maiden during the early years. Brian also talks about how Paul Di'Anno dropped a bomb on him ahead of a show in Long Beach as he interviewed him for his fanzine, The New Heavy Metal Revue. It was our pleasure to spend time with one of the true pioneers of metal, especially in the US, and hear how his first Maiden show ranks against the 300+ concerts he's seen with the boys over 45 years. What happens to a rock band's legacy when the touring stops forever?  When Pophouse acquired the KISS catalog, brand, name, image, and likeness rights, they didn't just buy music. They bought the blueprint for keeping one of rock's most iconic bands alive indefinitely through digital avatars, biometric data, and AI-driven live experiences. This deal, built on the success of ABBA Voyage and developed in partnership with Industrial Light and Magic, may be the most forward thinking music IP acquisition ever negotiated.  In this episode, Dmitri unpacks it all with Spencer Klein, chair of Morrison Foerster's Global Mergers and Acquisitions Group, who represented KISS co-founders Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley in the deal. Together, they explore how music catalog valuation is expanding beyond audio rights into merchandise, transmedia storytelling, and immersive concert experiences. They also dig into what this means for the broader music industry as artificial intelligence and digital avatar technology begin reshaping how artist IP is valued, monetized, and preserved for future generations. Whether you follow KISS, entertainment law, or the future of artist brands, this episode offers a rare inside look at how the music industry is evolving beyond the limits of what any band can do in a lifetime.    The news Mogul says it has tracked $1.5B in music royalties, raised $5M in funding | TechCrunch Neptune Raises $1.5 Million to Scale Digital Music Education in the UAE AI Sample Generator Just 4 Noise Closes $1 Million Round   The Music Tectonics podcast goes beneath the surface of the music industry to explore how technology is changing the way business gets done. Meagan is back behind the mic and reintroducing the Resting Bliss Face Podcast, sharing why she first launched it in 2019 as a fitness instructor and health coach with two little ones at home. Her goal then (and now) was simple: be a positive voice for women, remind them to take care of themselves, and help them expand what they believe is possible. Since those early episodes, life has grown in the best ways. Meagan welcomed a third baby and opened her own Pilates studio in her town, which just celebrated its two-year anniversary. In a world that often feels chaotic and loud, her mission remains the same: to hype you up, encourage you, and remind you that you're capable of more than you think. This episode centers around one powerful theme: creating opportunity instead of waiting for it. Meagan walks through her journey, from childhood dreams of working in Boston radio, to building a corporate career in mutual funds, landing a job at KISS 108, making the leap to New York radio, and choosing Equinox despite people warning her it was a "resume killer." That leap opened doors to roles at Rue La La and eventually being recruited by Yahoo. All the while, she was building her fitness career on the side, completing teacher training while working full-time, launching coaching programs, creating an on-demand platform during COVID (while pregnant and sick), and eventually opening her own studio after noticing a gap in her local community. She shares openly that she didn't have industry connections or family financial backing. What did she have? A willingness to bet on herself, over and over again. Setbacks weren't failures; they were lessons. Meagan also gives a few current updates: the studio is thriving, she's planning another retreat, teasing a new upcoming initiative, and has partnered with Atmosphera, a female-founded, climate-specific skincare company she genuinely loves. If you're curious, she invites you to reach out (no pressure at all) and mentions she'll include a link in the show notes!  She wraps up by sharing that she now has a team helping edit the podcast, with a goal of releasing episodes twice a month. You can connect with her on Instagram at @megfitz.gerald   Learn more about Atmosphera here: Atmosphera Beauty | Climate-Adaptive Skincare from Canada      Episode Timestamps 00:00 – Welcome Back 00:16 – Why This Podcast Exists 01:40 – Studio Life Update 02:50 – A Postpartum Listener Moment 03:50 – The Theme: Creating Opportunity 04:15 – The Childhood Radio Dream 04:57 – Boston Hustle & Breakthrough 07:10 – From Kiss 108 to NYC 09:15 – The Equinox Career Pivot 11:32 – Corporate to Fitness Leap 13:47 – Opening the Pilates Studio 15:49 – Wins, Losses & Mindset 16:52 – New Skincare Venture 19:08 – Wrap Up & What's Next
