Marshall Smith, PhD, and Laura Patterson, PhD, offer a sociological discussion of Winnie the Pooh Blood and Honey. The single most trite, banal, incompetent series of images we have watched since we started this podcast in 2017. Don't watch this film. It's not good bad, or bad good, it's just abject dross. Filmen heter Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2. Jordan and I find ourselves in what was once a forest, framed by the charred corpses of organia. Before us looms our Oak erection which, yielding to precedent, is in acute decline. The Moirai schlep our porcine persons t'ward the wilted trunk, Atropos routinely glancing back over her shoulder with a wicked grin and making the "snip-snip" motion with her fingers. Her nails (predictably, on reflection) are a manicured, sultry red. We don't know how we ended up here. There is the sense of an absence of a memory of a "why", but its inaudible squawks are stifled beneath a landslide of inattention and unpardonably byzantine prose. Camouflaged as we have been, concealed from the sweet, tempering sunshine of others' gaze, with naught but the Spooky Puppeteers and, inescapably, each other for company, we have succumbed to a climate of grotesque permissiveness. A calendar governed not by heavenly bodies but by earthly vagaries. An oral system unmitigated by normal human limits. Writings suggestive of an omni-cibarious yogurt parfait, where digging through each layer brings not nourishment but simply more. Somewhere along our sylvan traipse, yes, we grew unable to see the wood for the trees. We are IN the wood, though. To be fair, like. But perhaps escape is possible... On this quasi-penultimate episode, Jordan reviews the first season of MR. BIRCHUM (with none of the presumptuousness that "first" implies), the second season of SMILING FRIENDS (but the whole thing, really), GAME CHANGER (the whole thing, really) and the first season of DELICIOUS IN DUNGEON (an uncontroversial "first".) Otherwise, he kindly invites me to participate in the podcast with evaluations of the ninth and final series of INSIDE NO. 9 (with allusions to the whole thing), FURIOSA: A MAD MAX SAGA, HUNDREDS OF BEAVERS and IN A VIOLENT NATURE (hol fings), the first season or fourteenth series of DOCTOR WHO (depending on your orientation to the universe) and WINNIE-THE-POOH: BLOOD AND HONEY 2 (yes, the whole. Damn. Thing.) ...Winnie the- -Oh God, is this the Hundred Acre Wood..? Not gonna be Milne's, though, is it? It gonna be Frake-fucking-Waterfield's. Oh, smother.

I was lucky enough to be invited to chat with the writer and director of the upcoming highly anticipated viral horror movie, Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey, Rhys Frake-Waterfield! We talked about all things Blood & Honey, what we can expect from the movie, how far will Pooh & Piglet go, and what's next for Rhys after this incredible journey comes to an end! PS if anyone is wondering why the interview starts a bit abruptly, I completely butchered Rhys's name during the intro so to save a bit of face, I have edited that part out, luckily Rhys was a great sport and seen the funny side of it.
After Dread Central broke the story about the forthcoming horror film Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey, the internet just about lost its goddamn mind. Cinema fans everywhere expressed terror, disgust, and intrigue at the photos portraying Winnie the Pooh and Piglet as violent murderers. Then, in only a matter of hours, hundreds of other entertainment outlets picked up the story, and the rest is viral history. So naturally we reached out to the filmmaker behind the controversial horror title for an interview, and we were not disappointed by what he had to say. Rhys Frake-Waterfield is the filmmaker and producer behind Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey, an ITN Studios Original Production.

Vanessa Frake worked in the prison service for 27 years. For 16 of those years she was the head of security and operations at the notorious male prison Wormwood Scrubs. She was the main officer responsible for serial killer Rose West whilst she awaited trial, she was made a cup of tea by Myra Hindley, and she looked after Pete Doherty. Vanessa was awarded an MBE for her work in the prison service in 2012, and took early retirement in 2013. She has now written her memoirs in 'The Governor: My Life in Britain's Most Notorious Prisons'. This year the British town crier championships will be held in silence. Brenda Willison has been a town crier for 34 years. Based in Newmarket, Suffolk she’s been the Chair of the Loyal Company of Town Criers for the last 10 years. Last year their annual competition was cancelled so this year they decided to hold one online which only involves the content of the crying and the winner will be announced on May 13th. She explains to Anita why she thinks women make the best town criers. MPs believe there is a growing ‘digital threat to democracy’ which is preventing women from a career in politics. Yesterday in parliament there was a call for more action with female MPs from all sides recounting their experiences. Academic studies have shown that harassment against women has increased over the past two general elections, with women experiencing double the increase that men have experienced. Reporter Melanie Abbott talks to Anita about the issues. And we have the second in our series Second Chances. Our reporter Milly Chowles had a baby last year, she’s in long term recovery from addiction and feels she was given lots of chances to change before she became a mother. As the number of children in care rises and with drug and alcohol issues a factor in many cases, are women at risk of having their children removed getting the help they need? And what is the cost for their children and society as a whole if they don't? In five authored pieces Milly tells her story and listens to the experiences of mothers who face stigma and a fight to access services.
