This week on Forgotten Cinema, the Mikes take a ride back to the grimy streets of mid-90s New York with "Kiss of Death" (1995), starring David Caruso, Samuel L. Jackson, and a wildly unhinged Nicolas Cage with a bench press and a metal grill.Mike Field and Mike Butler dig into why this crime thriller—despite its strong cast and moody atmosphere—never quite sticks the landing. Is it a protagonist issue? Or does the story itself just not really hold up under further investigation?Either way, there's plenty to talk about: Cage's wild energy, Caruso's post-NYPD Blue movie pivot, or Ving Rhame's character's hatred of the color red.So, grab your popcorn and soda, please notice the exits to the left and right of you and settle down for Forgotten Cinema. What's your favorite 90's crime film? Let us know in the comments below!

Everyone has their price. We're all chasing something—whether it's success, love, purpose, or peace—and we'll often pay almost any price to get it and keep it. But have you ever stopped to think about what price someone else might pay for you?Jesus had something incredible on His mind—you. When everyone else fled from the fight, when the cost was far too high for anyone else to pay, Jesus didn't back down. He stepped forward, rose up, and embraced the fight. Why? Because embracing the fight meant He could embrace you. He didn't run from the cost of love; He paid it in full so that you could be welcomed into His arms, forgiven and free. So, wherever you are in life, whatever you're chasing, take a moment to consider this: Someone already paid the highest price to give you something far greater than you could ever imagine. And today, you're invited to embrace Him, just as He has already embraced you.Support the show

Hey Slaycators, It's good to be back! Then again, we almost didn't make it when one of us took a tumble on the way to the studio. But you'll hear all about that at the top of the show. Also, not sure if you're superstitious or not - - but you just might be after hearing the painful backstory. And we haven't even gotten to the case yet! This one's a real doozy and a shocking head scratcher... When a family from the UK goes on a road trip visiting scenic campsites at the foot of the French Alps, the last thing they'd expect is to run into a crazed gunman. After the shooting is over several people are dead including a local Frenchman who happened to be bike riding in the vicinity. Was this a random act of violence by a Madman? A family fight over an inheritance? Or a targeted hit by a shadowy group and/or a foreign government? And if so, who was even the target? There's a lot to unpack in this one, so pack your body bags and join us for another wild ride on Slaycation Want more Slaycation (additional bonus content) and want it sooner ? Watch the VIDEO or read the article: https://weirddarkness.com/frank-hayes-sweet-kiss/It's a story that could easily have found itself written into a television sitcom – had television existed at the time. But it would be equally appropriate for a story in a horror comic… yet those had not yet come into existence either. At New York's Belmont Park on June 4th, 1923, Frank Hayes secured his place in history as the only jockey to have ever won an official horse race posthumously. For those who graduated from public high school, posthumously means he did so while being dead. Apparently Hayes suffered a fatal heart attack during the race, but he stayed on top of the horse right through to the finish… of the race, that is. And, well… through to his own finish too...

Welcome to #Millennial, the home of pretend adulting and real talk! Hot on the heels of the Iowa caucus earlier this week, we aren't at all surprised by the outcome. Are pre-teens ruining Sephora, or are we turning into "olds"? The lack of pre-teen spaces (shops, online spaces, for socializing) is leading to some adolescent girls leaning into trends that may not be healthy for them at this age. The value of social currency still impacts us all, but it was at its height for our panel during those tween years. What are the impacts of Gen Alpha not having their own Lizzie McGuire, Limited Too, and skincare brands? Lest we forget that we are easily influenced: let's discuss the rise (and soon to be fall) of the Stanley Cup (no, we're not talking about hockey). Suburban moms and kids getting in on viral trends are basically the kiss of death. Given the Stanley's spot as a hot gift this holiday season, how long does it have before it's usurped by the new hot trend in hydration? Given these challenging economic times, our theme for this week's recommendations is 'little luxuries,' or things you can still do to treat yourself without breaking the bank: Paleo Pines, which is on sale for $23.99 through 1/22 (Laura), TheLipStickLesbians on Tiktok for all your lipstick recs (Pam), and Celsius energy drinks (Andrew).
