We play table top role playing games on Wednesday Night. We switch what system we're playing after a little while so we can keep things fresh.
This is our final episode. In it, we finish up the combat we started last week and the players end up getting back into the hot water right at the end of the session.
In today's episode we get through round 1 of our first combat session of Genesys RPG, Realms of D&D. Hal attempts subterfuge to get his way, the rest of the NPCs and Krask take the brute force route, and the casters attempt, with varying levels of success, to do some magic! Meanwhile, the players crack some pretty good jokes.
In today's episode, we discover more about the small slice of the Chasm that the party has designated as theirs. Including meeting with some of the new neighbors who are less than thrilled by the party's entrance into their territory
In today's episode, it's move in day! Trials and tribulations abound. They meet some neighbors and have some discussions about what their next steps should be in Neverwinter.
Shopping continues this week as the party buys a huge and elaborate cake, meat as owlbear food and a cart to drag it in, and a live chicken. Rwrarp freaked out the tabaxi hat merchant when he had Greg retrieve his wizard hat. And then they convinced a snake to show them to a place to stay. A good day in Neverwinter.
In this week's episode, Rwrarp, lost in Neverwinter, finds a hat shop and the most beautiful hat he's ever seen. Krask and Hal go buy a gauntlet and attempt to remain unremarkable. Uitzash performs a scrying ritual fueled by nightmares! A very successful shopping trip.
In this week's episode the characters investigated the Zephyros' tower more and discovered a very cute surprise! Also, we finally arrived at Neverwinter! So we said our goodbyes to Zephyros, descended the cloud stairs, and then everything went to hell before we even got to the gates.
In this week's episode, the characters talk about Hal's plan to have Firbolgs ascend the Ordning and become the supreme race of giant-kin. Rwrarp decides that it's time to do some potion experimentation! And, the Goblins reveal that they wrestle to settle disputes sometimes.
In this week's episode we do a quick flashback to learn how well Krask and Hal trained the Goblins to perform their play and then we see how well their first play performance was! Zephyros had notes. Afterwards we learn some backstory about Hal and then we learn some secrets about Giants!
In this week's episode, you'll hear about the inside of a Cloud Giant's Wizard Tower, listen as Krask and Hal train the Goblins how to do a performance, and Uitzash and Rwrarp read a journal and discover secrets!
In this weeks adventure, the characters convince Zephyros that Dread Bray is a threat to the countryside, Uitzash goes to talk to The Dendarites in Phandalin before she leaves, and Hal and Krask go and talk to the mayor again.
In this week's adventure, the party climbs a magic staircase. Does some day drinking. Engages in some light breaking and entering. And meets a very tall occupant of a very tall house.
In this week's episode, Rwrarp, Krask, and Hal all run to Uitzash to tell her what trouble they've been getting into while the NPCs go about their business. Hal spills some juicy backstory details for us. Then something very high fantasy happens for a change.
In this week's episode, Rwrarp discovers a secret in Greywind's office in the Lionshield Coster. Krask has a revealing conversation with Elsa. And Hal decides to get the Goblins ready to get on the road but ends up talking to a fan of his who gives him a cryptic warning.
Today we do some house keeping in Phandelin. The players have a good time at the Inn and Goblins the have a small celebration for their continued life. We also see Elsa showing the first signs of being enraptured with Dendar. Then they go negotiate with the Mayor to see if they can get the manor house on top of the hill for a song because of their fame and heroism. Which... doesn't necessarily go as we expected. Rwrarp may have blown up the Inn…
In this episode, you'll hear us make a lot of jokes because the players are unfamiliar with the die system and they like to deflect their anxiety with humor. But you'll also hear Colin try to force them to play the game which they do with enough grace.
In today's episode, you'll hear our characters play some very classic D&D. They use a monster's nature to their advantage and then take another completely by surprise! Consequences result, as they always do in this game.
In today's episode sleeping arrangements take planning, the Wraith is up to something, calling the Wraith out reveals cryptic truths, Uitzash promotes a Goblin... and Rwrarp asks someone if they want to play a game.
In today's episode we have a pretty tense series of rounds where Krask is unconscious and being eaten by ghouls!
In today's episode, the players decide that it's time to finish what they started with those ghouls they saw tear up their enemies a few episodes back after they defeated the Flame Skull. They head in there with a decent plan and a reckless attitude. Krask gets into trouble immediately. What else would we expect from this group though, right?
In today's adventure, the players rescue the last surviving Rockseeker!
In this episode, the characters loot the bodies of their fallen foes and we have a lot of tangential thoughts and conversations. But there's a little character building, a little investigation, and some discussion about the world as well.
In this episode you'll hear us finish the climactic fight with the Black Spider! We get a little loopy from a combat that lasted longer than Colin anticipated. Good times all around!
In this episode, the adventurers, less than stealthy due to a loudly whispered argument and an untimely sneeze, burst into a columned chamber with a giant dwarf statue and a couple bugbears. This generates a little confusion for the party as they were pretty sure that there was a drow in here at the end of last session. They rush in there and... the situation changes rapidly from there.
After their encounter with Mormesk, the characters finally go and investigate the source of the booming sound. What they discover, is truly underwhelming. The eventually decide that it's time to do something about the creatures in this cave once and for all, because this is bullshit.
In this week's adventure, the characters start off by camping and having a pretty low key, but potentially frustrating, social encounter with The Guardian. Afterwards, they move on to the second building in this open cave chamber and discover a second, and differently annoying, guardian in the other structure.
After their final triumph over the Flame Skull last week, we move into some exploration of the dungeon again. The players really want to find out what that "Booming" sound is, so they head off in that direction. What they find... is a lovely but horrifying surprise!
While the players handle some repercussions from casting some rather loud spells during the fight, they discover a new danger from another part of the dungeon and come to realize that their trial with the Flame Skull is not over yet.
Remember how last week the players were on fire with jokes? This week the characters are just on fire. Because Flame Skull. This might be the most tense fight they've had since the goblin ambush way back in Ep 1. We also discover that Uitzash is the true animal handler of the group.
Today, the players are on fire with the jokes! But also the characters decide to delve deeper into the mines. They deploy Linguine and Greg to scout ahead, form a plan on what to do next, and then plunge forward with that idea in hand! This results in initiative being rolled.
Today, exploring the dungeon continues as we head yet deeper into the lost mines. The player's first decision point brings them into contact with some bugbears who seem to be barricaded in a room. Krask doesn't want to ask questions, so tactical combat ensues!
Today you'll hear the party begin to delve into the Lost Mine! Krask finds some treasure, Colin made a funny mistake involving a pit and a rope, more hyjinks with the owlbear, and then we have a "story game" moment where the players tell us about the dungeon instead of listening to it described as they travel through a section that Colin called "otherwise boring." Then, they find The Pool.
In today's episode you'll hear how the preparation for the dungeon delve concludes, character development continues with several in-character discussions including getting to know Krask a little better and a very guarded conversation between Uitzash and Hal, and then they arrive at the Wave Echo Cave, the site of the Lost Mines of Phandelin.
In today's episode, we have a small time skip at the very beginning of this session. We meet up with the crew in an inn and they're introduced to Kolton's new character, the aforementioned lizardfolk paladin, Krask, who makes quite the impression. The players attempt to continue taming the Owlbear who still doesn't have an official name. Gundren asks the players to go investigate the Wave Echo Cave and is willing to pay them quite a lot of gold to do so. And interspersed within all of this is the characters dealing with the loss of Olo with emotions ranging from sadness to suspicion and uncertainty.
Today we'll hear how the players prepare for the oncoming trouble with the Hobgoblins by speaking to the people of Phandalin. It's a bit hectic for them and there's a few stumbling blocks as they try to put all of their affairs in order as quickly as possible, but it's a pretty good time nonetheless.
In today's episode you'll hear the encounter that the party had with Olo's monstrous duck form! It was tense to say the least, but we handled it like we usually do; with humor!
In today's episode you'll hear the crew finish up their activity in Cragmaw Castle and then head on back to Phandalin, trying desperately to beat the hobgoblin war party that Droop warned them of several sessions prior. They make a plan and start making their way back to town... but then some foreshadowing finally goes the way the DM expected.
Today you'll hear the players save Gebbin from a Grick. Maybe that doesn't sound like the most dramatic experience in D&D history but considering how low they characters are on class features and resources, it wasn't the easiest task for them. It was also the source of a good amount of amusement for us a group and we hope that you enjoy it as much as we did. It also gave them an excuse to keep working on taming their new pet Owlbear!
In today's episode the characters finish up interrogating the Doppleganger, who actually manages to give them some useful information before he leaves. Rwrarp goes on a dungeon delve with a couple Goblins and they investigate a shrine hidden deep within Cragmaw Castle. And Olo goes to talk with the Owlbear! Turns out he can do that... cuz weird homebrew barbarian classes are weird. Cool... but weird.
In this week's adventure the characters manage to save Gundren Rockseeker from Cragmaw Castle! Then they interrogate a Doppleganger and get a surprisingly small amount of information out of him, mostly due to their own unfocused conversational tactics. ... On second thought, it's not that surprising after all.
In today's episode we have some combat to finish! And boy was it a doozy. There was a Dendarian Religious Revival, the threat of an untamed owlbear every turn, goblins betraying their kin, the introduction of a cute little puppy named Snarl (you'll meet him later), some very good spell and ability use by Hal and Rwrarp (you'll see exactly what I mean those happen), and so much more.
In this week's episode, the party also realizes that they need to tame the Owlbear before it's going to be their reliable pet. So that was fun for them to figure out.
No episode this week. Instead: It's a call to action for the protests against racial injustice! Anything donated to our Ko-Fi is going directly to #BLM and you should consider making a donation to that charity yourself or to bailfunds to help get protesters out of jails in your city.
In this weeks adventure: gallows humor surrounding a Goblin Chef and a cooking pot! New recruits! And the players asking "Is this a tamable pet?!" in the most meme-able moment of our campaign to date! We had tons of fun to say the least.
In this weeks adventure we come back from a long hiatus as recorders and players of the game. So we take a little bit of time to refocus and get back on track with what we were doing before and our synopsis was strikingly good considering how long it had been. The players then decided that a frontal assault on the castle was in order! This resulted in some immediate consequences... Such as Olo and Wrarp being viciously attacked by the not-so-strangely territorial inhabitants. We also meet some of those inhabitants and the guy in charge has an item that Olo desperately wants.
In this week's adventure, the players decide to send one of their goblin companions on to Cragmaw Castle to enact a potentially very smart plan. Then they venture forth themselves towards the destination! They arrive at the Castle and begin investigating with some newly acquired class features.
The characters decided to make some final preparations in Phandalin before striking out to Cragmaw Keep! Lead by their goblin ally Droop. We have a little bit of a travel montage on the way there. Then we make camp and things got a little strange with the watches. Wait... did we accidentally go back to Torchbearer? What's happening...
Still downtime in this episode. So sit back and enjoy some character interactions as the players explore their new-found level 3 class features, talk the philosophy of morality with each other, and try to give gifts to horrible monsters!
It's downtime in this episode! So we do shopping and take care of some narrative concerns surrounding leveling up. We had fun.
In today's episode we loot Glass Staff's room! We talk logistics about how we want to proceed with the rest of the dungeon because the players feel that they've completed their mission. Ultimately we decide to proceed with the exploration and delve deeper into the Tresendor Manor before returning to the town of Phandalin.
In today's episode our band of adventurers faces down their second major foe; The Wizard, Glass Staff. There's banter and games while they try to outmaneuver each other but then? It's Initiative. He's got a few tricks up his sleeves... will they be enough to confound the heroes?
