Episode Notes Yes we skipped the Quark forcefemm one. The Sound of Her Voice: Odo and Quark flirtation. Everyone's in a bad mood. Establishing communications with the stranded officer! Jude is suspicious. Cross-species relationship issues. The engineer's trilemma. Mailbox. Lisa solves problems from beyond the grave. Quark tries to engineer a rom-com so that Odo is busy during his shady business. Quark has to filter normal emotions through the frame of Ferengi horseshit. The end is the saddest but also the least bad. Tears of the Prophets: Turning tides of war. The moment you know things are going to go wrong. The bitch is back! Dukat has become an Indiana Jones villain. God stink. Prophecy vs. directive vs Starfleet policy. Dukat meets a Pah Wraith. Dax is saved, but Jadzia is not. We stan Terry Ferrell. If it weren't for the plot we hate, this would be a very good space battle storytelling episode. BabSpace9 is a production of the Okay, So network. Episode Notes The Reckoning: We see Kai Wynn and get angry. Imagine digging a hole and finding your name on the welcome mat. Justen interrupts with some BattleTech news. The Prophets brain-woosh Sisko and tell him about The Reckoning. "I'm an engineer, not a linguist." We have thoughts about the proper handling of ancient artifacts. Pre-doom happy hour? Bashir jinxes it. Will of the prophets, shrug emoji? There is no Kira, only ZUUL. "Just zap her with some chronitons." Wait, is this a Dragonball Z episode? Kira talk-slaps Kai Wynn. We're slapped around the head by the metaphor. The Valiant: SO many red flags in this episode. The Shenandoah, RIP. The Defiant-class to the rescue! Staffed by Red-squad cadets. Obviously what you give teenagers as a punishment for treason is a WARSHIP. The Teens can't shift out of 2nd gear. Space is flat. Nog gets a brevet promotion. Justen gets angry about operational mandate. Main Character Syndrome. Big Damn Hero, subverted. Nog gains command and finally makes the good decision of "let's get out of here". The transfer from "undying loyalty" to "dying for you" is where cults come in. BabSpace9 is a production of the Okay, So network. Sixty-one duels. Zero losses. Starting at age thirteen. Miyamoto Musashi is the greatest swordsman who ever lived. But the strategies he used to become undefeatable have almost nothing to do with sword technique. In this episode, Gene breaks down six strategies from Musashi's life and writings, pulled directly from The Book of Five Rings and the Dokkodo, and shows how each one applies right now. Not just on the battlefield. In your training, your work, your relationships, your mindset. The six strategies:The Way Is in Training — commit fully or don't botherDo Not Think Dishonestly — radical self-honesty as a weaponThink Lightly of Yourself — killing the ego before it kills youThe Void — building the ability to perform without thinkingNever Be Ruled by Habit — staying flexible inside disciplineBecome Your Art — going all the way in on your craftTwo weeks before he died, alone in a cave at age sixty-one, Musashi distilled his entire life into twenty-one principles. Not lamenting. Not processing regrets. Just documenting the way. That's the mark of a man who had truly walked the path.Never give up. Never quit. Kaizen.Send us Fan Mail

Episode Notes Batman! In the Pale Moonlight: Coming on the heels of Inquisition, this is SOMETHING. Personal Log. The grim ritual of the casualty logs. How do you convince the Romulans? Garak is always up for a little light skullduggery. Quark has his day. Julian puts up a fight. What an interesting development. Garak also has his day. The self-respect of one Starfleet Officer. Sisko's long descent into the moral grey. Garak's respect for Sisko. Curzon knew Romulans. BabSpace9 is a production of the Okay, So network. Episode Notes Wrongs Darker than Death or Night: Dax wants to do ridge-face. Kira grabs the monkey's paw by the thumb. Dukat "helps" Kira with a complete change in understanding of her mom. Kira doesn't take this well. "Do something about it" doesn't always go well in Trek. Time travel! Airhorn but gross. Mom moves in with Dukat. The price of survival. Inquisition: The episode that breaks Star Trek. Julian is packing for yet another beachside medical conference. Sloan from Internal Affairs says there's a traitor! Julian's been just too nice to the Jem'Hadar. Weyoun? What's even going on here. *booo section 31 boooo* Julian, and the audience, say "this seems pretty shitty". Starfleet still has GLOMAR. Section 31, _in the context of this show_ works, but they got monkey-pawed by events a few years later. Julian rejects the call to (secret) adventure. Justen breaks Jude's brain. Can Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Transform Your Mind and Your Life? What does Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu really teach about discipline, philosophy, and personal development? In this episode of the WS Podcast, Marcelo Coppa — head referee of UKBJJ and international referee for IBJJF — joins Wojciech Salski to explore the deeper lessons behind Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, competition, and the mindset required to grow in the sport and in life. Marcelo shares his journey into Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, beginning with a chance encounter that challenged the Hollywood stereotype of martial arts. What he discovered instead was a culture built on respect, discipline, and personal growth. The conversation explores the evolution of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu over the past two decades, including how the internet, competition circuits, and global federations have transformed the sport. Marcelo explains the crucial role referees play in shaping the rules of the sport and how rule sets influence the way techniques are taught and applied in competition. We also dive into the philosophy behind Jiu-Jitsu. Marcelo discusses how ideas from Taoism and classical philosophy influence the way practitioners approach training, conflict, and self-improvement. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu becomes not just a martial art, but a laboratory for understanding the connection between mind, body, and spirit. The episode also explores the benefits of Jiu-Jitsu for personal development. Marcelo explains how the pressure of training and competition teaches resilience, patience, and strategic thinking — skills that translate far beyond the mats. We also discuss why Jiu-Jitsu can be particularly valuable for children and young people, helping them develop confidence, discipline, and the ability to navigate conflict without aggression. If you're interested in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, martial arts philosophy, competition mindset, or personal growth through sport, this episode offers a fascinating perspective from one of the most experienced referees in the global BJJ community. Episode Notes Jude gives himself a brevet promotion. We get a new category of DS9 Episode. Content Warning: Jude speculates about anonymous sex encounters in Trek. Honor Among Thieves: Second closest we get to Mos Eisley in Trek. Starfleet Intelligence has a Really Bad Plan involving O'Brien and some racist pseudonyms. DS9 (the station) misses its dad. O'Brien gets into the Orion Syndicate. Shopping montage! The Syndicate is working with the Vorta? Specifically the Vorta from One Little Ship, so you know his ideas are good. We have some concerns about SI's sapient asset program. Change of Heart: Starfleet Intelligence has another Great Idea, this time involving Worf and Jadzia. A Cardassian Defector? How does a laser inject anticoagulants? Worf gets a Note in his Folder. They should not have been sent on a mission together anyway. Miles and Julian conspire(?) to beat Quark, but Quark 4-D chesses Julian in return. We would do war crimes for Dax. BabSpace9 is a production of the Okay, So network. My nervous system: the final frontier. These are the voyages of my moth-eaten brain. This isn't just about techniques or belts. It's about discipline, failure, resilience, ego, growth, leadership, and what martial arts really teaches you over time. After three decades of training, teaching, winning, losing, and learning, these are the principles that stayed with me — lessons that apply not only in the dojo, but in business, family life, and personal development. Whether you're a beginner, an instructor, or someone simply interested in mindset and self-mastery, this episode is for you. Train smart. Stay humble. Keep growing.
Episode Notes First there's a lot of non-DS9 chat, sorry. Who Mourns for Morn: Quark has been holding Morn's seat via holo-Morn. But Morn has... died? The entire station shows up to his wake. Morn leaves everything to Quark, which is... nothing. Except for a painting of a matador. And a mud bath. And a naked woman. And a rumor of 1000 bricks of gold-pressed latinum. Quark gets threatened by the most Coen Brothers goons ever. Morn was... a prince? So many short cons. It's not latinum, it's just... worthless gold. Odo and Quark have boyfriend telepathy. One Little Ship: Time to do SCIENCE. Kira is genre aware and thinks it's hilarious to shrink members of the command crew. Nog covers for Worf. Intergenerational conflict among the JemHadar. Itty Bitty Photon Torpedoes. Maybe the Founders put a little too much Cardassian in the new Alphas. BabSpace9 is a production of the Okay, So network. Episode Notes This episode breaks the 4th wall in a fascinating way. Introducing Benny Russell, and some almost-familiar faces. Casual 1950s racism and sexism. Imagining a better future. In total, 32 Slovak athletes are making their Olympic debut, underlining a clear generational shift in Slovak sport. Ahead of the Games, we spoke with young figure skating talent Adam Hagara and Slovak flag bearer, bobsledder Viktória Čerňanská. The new episode of Slovak Sound Check also takes a closer look at popular winter sports in Slovakia.

Episode Notes The Magnificent Ferengi: It's never a good sign when Quark looks overly pleased with himself. Moogie has been captured... by the Dominion? And QUARK has to rescue her? Rom learns what Moogie has been up to. STONKS. All Nog needs is a good job title and he's in. Ferengi are negotiators, not warriors. Emo Vorta. Everything that can go wrong does. IGGY POP??? Nog discovers the Weekend at Bernies gambit. Maybe Ferengi are warriors? This whole episode is a sunday night RPG session (appreciative). Vorta malevolent curiosity. Only in a Ferengi episode would accidentally killing a hostage be ok. The best Trek episodes are ones where the actors are clearly enjoying themselves. Waltz: Sisko and Dukat road trip gone wrong episode. Nebula-class chat. Dukat "saves" Sisko? Dukat is hallucinating a lot, but that's fine, right? Dukat has an interesting memory of his two stints as DS9 commander. Fake Kira might be even better than real Kira. Huh, maybe Dukat just needs to be removed from the Alpha Quadrant. This episode is deliciously uncomfortable. Dr. Cox??? Marc Olaimo put in the labor over the last 5.5 seasons in order for this episode to work. BabSpace9 is a production of the Okay, So network. Episode Notes Resurrection: The merits of dinner parties. Ughhh it's Bareil again. Or a Mirror Universe Bareil, except not fun or horny. Jude rants about orbs again. Noooo Kira don't do it. Oh good, Mirror Kira. Hopefully there's an actual HR rep for this Bajoran-Starfleet joint op, and that it's not Odo. Justen hates that this is a Mirror Universe episode without the Mirror Universe. Statistical Probabilities: Yes, this is a metaphor for autism. Also the politics of augmentation. Damar gets a promotion. "Uncomplicated" might not be a compliment. Jack suggests doing a treason. There are problems with this episode but it's nice to see Bashir unmask a bit. Jack may be Nate Silver. BabSpace9 is a production of the Okay, So network. Episode Notes Lots of war episodes... time for a wedding! Sisko has nominated Martok as supreme commander. Quark wants to know if the wedding will be at the bar. Jadzia wants the wedding before Alexander gets killed. Dax is amused by Worf's bridezilla-ing. Worf sells what the boys think is a 4 day bachelor party. You should really read Shakespeare in the original Klingon. Klingon domestic politics. Jadzia has a bachelorette party with basically everyone not at Worf's ascetic fast-fest. O'Brien Suffers [fun?]. What better place to talk about feelings than a loud and noisy party? Kira and Odo 7 hours in heaven. O'Brien and Bashir have some goofs. Klingon mythology kinda rules. We love this episode AND there are some things we wish they'd included. BabSpace9 is a production of the Okay, So network. "Crunchy rules or simple vibes? Political intrigue or straight-up dungeon brawls? Survival in a dying world or low-power fantasy feels?" This remastered RPGBOT.Podcast dives into everything you love (and fear) about tabletop RPGs that aren't D&D or Pathfinder. From decision trees to help you find your perfect game match, to the storytelling magic of Powered by the Apocalypse, and the chaotic survival of Mork Borg, there's something for everyone if you're willing to look past what you already know. Tune in if you've ever wondered, "Is my game too crunchy, or am I just lazy?" Summary In this episode, the hosts take a deep dive into the diverse landscape of tabletop RPGs, offering a wealth of insights into various systems, mechanics, and themes. They introduce the concept of decision trees, a practical tool to help players identify RPGs that align with their preferences. The discussion covers the spectrum of complexity, from the intricate 'crunch' of detailed systems to the simplicity of more streamlined games. Key highlights include: The Cypher System and Genesis: An exploration of these versatile systems, focusing on their mechanics and adaptability to different genres. Powered by the Apocalypse Framework: A look at its elegant simplicity and flexibility, making it an excellent choice for narrative-driven campaigns. Legend of the Five Rings vs. Adventures in Rokugan: A comparison of political intrigue-focused gameplay with combat-centric mechanics, illustrating the range of experiences within fantasy RPGs. Mörk Borg: An examination of its dark, nihilistic themes, where traditional heroism gives way to survival in a grim and decaying world. The conversation also ventures into niche areas, such as the unique storytelling potential of solo RPGs, and highlights specific systems like Numenera, with its futuristic exploration themes, and One Ring 2E, celebrated for its low-power fantasy and rich Tolkien-inspired lore. The hosts emphasize the importance of understanding a game's mechanics and setting realistic expectations to maximize the enjoyment of any RPG experience. Episode Notes Favor the Bold: Odo and the Changeling... ugh. They could not have conveyed Odo's shame and disgust more clearly. Rom's on death row. The fate of the Alpha Quadrant is in... Quark's hands? Damarr is just bad at everything. Morn?! Kira whoops Damarr like he's Worf on TNG. Nog receives a promotion! The heroes so far are Quark, Rom, and Morn. Sisko is tired of running, time to retake DS9. Sacrifice of Angels: The Charge of the not-so-light brigade. Time for a fleet battle. Quark is... not under suspicion? 4D Chess. The comparative morals of exterminatus vs triumphs. Weyoun finally reads Dukat. Costuming choices. The Female Changeling makes some choices. Quark does some shenanigans. Quark does some SHENANIGANS. Odo to a very disappointingly motivated rescue. Space gods to a very dickish rescue. Check out Justen's new project! The Vampire With No Name is a production of Dubious Creatures Press. Musashi was a ronin—a masterless samurai—in Japan, living from 1584 to 1645. He is widely regarded as the most legendary swordsman in history, with an unmatched dueling record of 61 victories and no defeats. Beyond his prowess with the sword, Musashi was also a thoughtful writer and philosopher. His renowned work, The Book of Five Rings, continues to be published and studied around the world. We spend so much time trying not to age… but the real question isn't how not to age — it's how can we age well? In this heartfelt conversation of the HEAL with Kelly Podcast, I sit down with Dr. Kerry Burnight, leading Gerontologist and author of the bestselling book Joyspan: The Art and Science of Thriving in Life's Second Half, to explore what it truly means to live a long, meaningful, and joy-filled life. We talk about how to expand not just your lifespan or healthspan, but your joyspan— the quality of your days, your relationships, and your inner life. Dr. Kerry shares inspiring insights on how joy differs from happiness, why internalized ageism keeps us from thriving, and how autonomy, purpose, and connection become essential nutrients as we grow older. We also talk about what really matters at the end of life — and how to start cultivating it right now, no matter your age. A beautiful reminder that aging isn't something to fear—it's a sacred invitation to grow, love, and live more fully. Key Moments You'll Love ✨:
Episode Notes We had a good week. Too bad these episodes are less good. Sons and Daughters: Worf continues to bridezilla. Bet you forgot Alexander existed, because Worf sure did. Worf continues to be a terrible dad. Dukat is a less terrible parent than Worf, somehow. Dukat is able to simultaneously be genuine and try to find every possible advantage. Martok is, on the other hand, a swell dude and a better friend than Worf deserves. Behind the Line: The Defiant is operating out of Starbase 375 and kicking butt. So much that Sisko's skills are being "better used elsewhere". Poor Captain Dad. The Ketracel White situation is getting worse, and Damarr has no opsec. The Female Changeling stops by the station to goo with Odo, and gosh is that bad for the resistance cell. BabSpace9 is a production of the Okay, So network. Episode Notes Jude gets a promotion! We start the Dominion War in earnest! A Time to Stand: Nearly everyone's on the Defiant, and the war isn't going great. Oh yeah and Jake is still on the Dominion-occupied DS9. Tetracel White is a strategic resource. Dukat is in charge on the station, but not _in charge_ with the Dominion there. Woo censorship! Worf is a bridezila. ROSSSSS! What percentage of Vorta dna is housecat? Dukat is, after all, a giant POS. Kira's maturation from firebrand to leader. Spock-ifying Bashir. Rocks and Shoals: O'Brien couldn't pull a Scotty, so now the Defiant's in trouble! Nog remembers what happened last season. Battles that we only see in DS9. Protests we only see in DS9. Kira realizes she's a collaborator now. The Dominion has never dealt with supply line issues before, apparently. BabSpace9 is a production of the Okay, So network. Episode Notes *Except for Garak Star Trek horror episodes have two modes: worse than the cave set, or unbelievably good. Cardassians do not believe in Right to Repair. These redshirts are VERY redshirt. Some board game hot takes. Genre-awareness in redshirts. Super-racism drug? Nog's great. Garak, but turned up to 11. The ethics of improvised space slurs. Retirement is often envisioned as the reward at the end of a long career, but too many people find themselves adrift once finances are settled, lacking a sense of purpose and fulfillment. Cyn Meyer, author of "The Rewire Retirement Method: Ailing from Aimless to Amazing," and founder of Second Wind Movement, offers a transformative approach to redefining retirement—one built not on financial spreadsheets, but on neuroscience, clarity, and sustained personal growth. From Aimless to Amazing: Redefining RetirementTraditional retirement planning focuses almost exclusively on money—401ks, nest eggs, and the dream of untethered leisure—but the real challenge is psychological and emotional. Meyer's experience as a life coach for retirees, combined with personal family events and a background in neuroscience, led her to create a system that unlocks genuine fulfillment after career ends. She saw firsthand retirees with substantial assets fall into a "retirement rut": losing momentum, purpose, and zest for living, which often gives way to anxiety, depression, and a sedentary lifestyle. The Rewire Retirement SystemMeyer's method, built into a three-month program and distilled in her book, centers around clarity before action. Instead of rushing to fill time with stereotypical pursuits like pickleball or beach days, her system guides individuals to uncover their authentic identity for this new phase. The process leverages neuroscience, notably the reticular activating system (RAS), prodding the brain daily toward new, meaningful pathways that fuel purpose. The method breaks retirement into "Five Rings," each representing a part of this holistic journey:Giving Back: Community involvement, volunteering, sharing wisdom.Recreation: Physical, creative, and leisure pursuits.Connection: Building deeper relationships and family ties.Personal Growth: Learning new skills, overcoming challenges.Legacy: Creating impact and meaning, be it through family, professional boards, or artistic expression.Rather than an all-at-once overhaul, the program recommends microsteps—small, daily actions (about 20 minutes a day)—to incrementally build a life that is both unique and deeply satisfying. The approach emphasizes that retirement is a launchpad for upward growth, not a period of descent or withdrawal.Real Success and ResilienceThe outcomes of Meyer's approach are as unique as the individuals who use it. Some find renewed drive—like the client who, after severe health setbacks and mini-strokes, used the microstepping system to reconnect with family, grow stronger physically, and hike mountains by age 70. Others discover latent passions, such as joining professional boards, writing books, or grandparenting with deeper relationships.Importantly, Meyer notes that the age at which someone begins this journey is irrelevant—what matters is the internal search for what's missing. Everyone is vulnerable to feeling "rudderless" if purpose is lacking, regardless of physical health or previous achievements. Her message is clear: when that subtle void appears, it's time to act.Individuality Over ComparisonOne vital lesson Meyer shares is to resist comparing retirement journeys. Each person is an individual, with unique dreams, goals, and intrinsic motivators. The path in this new chapter should be drawn inwardly, not by keeping up with the societal or financial benchmarks of others.Getting Started: Tools and AccessFor those interested, Meyer offers entry points through her website, SecondWindMovement.com, which includes a free masterclass and courses such as the 14-day Purpose Jumpstart. Her book is available for deeper self-guided exploration. The goal is accessibility for anyone, not just those who can afford private coaching.
