This weekend we're ready to crown a brand new pair of royalty in WWE– it's Night of Champions and the finale to the King and Queen of the Ring tournaments. These tournaments have not been effectively organized however; and no matter what happens or who wins, we have severe concerns. The Main Event: The New Bloodline Ever since Roman Reigns became a world champion once again, the latest chapter of the Bloodline has taken center stage once again. And if you love Roman and his family drama, that's great! But if you're aching for a change in the direction of WWE that is not so great. The Three Count: Danielle put over Lucha Underground's (sort of) return. Lindsey put over Cathy Kelley and (fka) Dakota Kai watching Love Actually on TikTok. Hal put over the obvious. What does it actually feel like to be told you have a 20 to 30% chance of surviving? And what happens after - not the comeback story everyone wants to hear, but the years of brain fog, depression, and suicidal ideation that almost nobody talks about? What if the real miracle isn't beating the disease, but what you do in the long, dark years that follow? Michael finally sits down with his dear friend Hal Elrod, bestselling author of The Miracle Morning and survivor of both a near-fatal car accident at 20 and a rare, aggressive leukemia at 37, for the interview that was supposed to happen a decade ago but got swallowed by Hal's diagnosis instead. This isn't the polished mindset story you've heard Hal tell a hundred times. These are two men who've both been hit by trucks, literally and figuratively, comparing notes on what dying actually teaches you about being alive, including the parts of the journey Hal has never fully unpacked on a podcast before. This isn't about beating cancer. This is about what comes after the remission, the brain damage, the despair, the six years it took just to feel human again, and the daily practice that, against everything, pulled him back. Key Topics: The diagnosis that changed everything: the night Hal woke up unable to breathe, the misdiagnosis, and the oncologist's words, "you have a 20 to 30% chance of surviving", that started it all. The decision that reframed his odds: why Hal refused to see himself as having a 30% chance of survival, and instead committed to doing everything the survivors did, giving himself a "100% chance of being among the 30%." The three-step affirmation formula Hal actually used to fight for his life: affirm what you're committed to, affirm why it's a must, and affirm exactly what you'll do and when, not the vague, magical-thinking affirmations most people are taught. The five deeply personal reasons Hal read aloud every single day during his darkest, 105-degree-fever nights, reasons that kept him going when he no longer wanted to fight for himself. Chemo brain laid bare: the year of two-to-four-hours-a-night sleep deprivation, the major depression, the suicidal ideation, and the moment Hal quietly began planning a way to end his life without it looking intentional. Why his children, not faith in his own recovery, were the real reason he didn't go through with it, and the moment he finally told his oncologist he was done with chemotherapy against doctor's orders. The nocebo effect: why being told a list of everything wrong with your body can be just as powerful, and just as dangerous, as any positive affirmation, and why Michael and Hal both refuse to let a doctor's opinion become their reality. Dr. Bernie Siegel's stunning finding from 3,000 cancer patients: the single common trait among every survivor was that there was simply no other option for them than survival. The healing that didn't begin in remission: why Hal says his real recovery only started in May 2020, when he quit every pharmaceutical drug he was on, and why it's taken six full years, with real progress only in the last twelve months. Why Hal is now releasing the belief that suffering is required to help others, and what it means to finally choose ease over earned wisdom. The mic-drop moment from the Miracle Morning documentary: filming himself mid-migraine, in unbearable pain, sobbing, and still saying, through tears, "I am grateful for this moment." Faith isn't certainty. It's choosing the possibility you want and committing to it completely, every single day, in writing, fueled by reasons big enough to carry you through the nights you want to give up. You can't guarantee the outcome. You can only stack the deck by becoming, every single day, a little more the person who gets there. Your best is yet to come. Say it until you believe it. Then go live like it's already true. Join the Inspire Nation Soul Family!
Hal Robinson joins the podcast for a wide-ranging conversation on bass pedagogy, sound, and the practical fundamentals that actually move the needle. Hal reflects on his path from early studies with Paul Ellison to a career that spans major orchestras and shares how working alongside influential musicians like François Rabbath and Edgar Meyer helped shape a flexible, student-first teaching philosophy. We also dig deep into Hal's latest book Hitch-hikin', which is a new look at the concepts Hal explored in his book Boardwalkin'. We dig into pivot health, low thumb position ("thumbage"), shifting under slurs, and why "covering notes" can create more problems than they solve. Enjoy, and check out my looks inside The Quad, Strokin', and Boardwalkin', plus our earlier episode on Wabass. Writing a book is a goal that many people talk about for years, but very few actually follow through. We convince ourselves that we'll get started when life slows down, and before you know it, years have gone by with a great idea just sitting on the back burner. As someone whose life was completely transformed by writing The Miracle Morning book series, I truly believe a book can become one of the most valuable assets you ever create. It can amplify your impact, preserve your legacy, and open doors that would never have opened otherwise. Today, I'm joined by my good friend Chandler Bolt, the founder of SelfPublishing.com and author of Published.: The Proven Path From Blank Page To 10,000 Copies Sold. Chandler has helped thousands of authors write and publish their books and, in the process, has scaled his company into an eight-figure business. In our conversation, Chandler explains why writing a book can become the best business card you'll ever create, how to leverage your book to grow your business, and how he's using AI to help authors write better books and build better companies.

Amin. (Dod).
Implementing a new habit rarely feels life-changing at first. Going for a morning walk and getting a few minutes of sunlight, or visualizing checking something off a to-do list, might sound like activities that barely move the needle. Yet over time, those small actions often become the difference between feeling stuck and becoming the person you're capable of being. And after reading the first chapter of Jon Gordon's newest book, The Power of Positive Habits, I felt the benefits from that one simple action in the first 5 minutes. Jon is the bestselling author of 33 books, including The Energy Bus, which has sold more than 3.5 million copies worldwide. But before becoming one of the most respected voices in leadership and personal development, Jon struggled with negativity to the point that his wife told him their marriage wouldn't survive unless he changed. That wake-up call led him on a journey that transformed his mindset, career, and life. In our conversation, Jon shares the habits that reduce friction and make it easier to follow through, why becoming your own greatest encourager can change everything, and how letting go of the past can unlock the mental blocks that prevent you from becoming the best version of yourself. Send us Fan MailREPLAY OF THE FIRST FWM PODCASTIn this episode of the Finishing Well Podcast, Dr. Hal Habecker and Dr. Randy Hess revisit the very first episode of the show, originally recorded in December 2020. The episode opens with Dr. Habecker expressing his deep desire for older generations—parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents—to be active encouragers and mentors to younger generations. He emphasizes the importance of older adults pouring their wisdom, experiences, and love into their families and communities, highlighting the biblical value placed on elders. The hosts discuss the mission of Finishing Well Ministries, which is to inspire and equip believers of all ages, especially those in their later years, to live purposefully and finish their lives well in service to God. Dr. Habecker shares his personal journey from pastoring at Dallas Bible Church to founding the ministry, motivated by a passion to counter cultural and even church-based tendencies to marginalize older adults. He points out that, contrary to societal views that equate retirement with the end of productivity, Scripture consistently affirms the ongoing value and purpose of older people.Throughout the conversation, Dr. Habecker and Dr. Hess reflect on biblical examples of impactful aging, such as Moses, Joshua, and the apostle John, who accomplished significant work in their later years. They reference key scriptures like Ephesians 2:10 and Psalm 90:12, underscoring that God's purpose for each person does not diminish with age. Instead, the wisdom and experiences accumulated over a lifetime are meant to be shared, especially with younger generations, to build up the church and community.Dr. Hess shares his initial intrigue and eventual conviction about the ministry's vision, noting that many seniors wrestle with questions of purpose after retirement. He observes that while society often promotes leisure and self-indulgence as the goals of aging, true fulfillment comes from discovering and living out God's ongoing calling. The hosts encourage listeners to reflect on their own lives and consider how they can continue to serve, mentor, and make a difference, regardless of age.The episode concludes with a call to action for older adults to embrace their God-given roles as encouragers and mentors, and for all listeners to pursue a life of purpose and impact. The hosts invite feedback and continued engagement with the podcast, reinforcing the message that the later years can be the most fruitful and meaningful season of life when lived in alignment with God's purposes.Support the show"Finishing Well Ministries aims to encourage and inspire aging Christians to understand and embrace God's calling in their later years, equipping them to actively pursue and fulfill His calling. Amin. (Dod).

What happens after you die? It's a question that has fascinated humanity for thousands of years. Today's guest has an answer that might surprise you. Dannion Brinkley has been clinically dead multiple times, and what he learned from those experiences led him to one extraordinary conclusion: nobody ever dies. Dannion is the bestselling author of Saved by the Light and Secrets of the Light, a hospice volunteer with nearly 50 years of service, and one of the world's most well-known near-death experience survivors. After being struck by lightning in 1975 and clinically dead for 28 minutes, Dannion says he experienced what he calls a panoramic life review that completely transformed the course of his life. Dannion has devoted his life to helping people face death without fear. He has spent more than 34,000 hours at the bedside of veterans in the VA, provided hospice support to over 2,000 people during their final days, and helped build one of the largest end-of-life volunteer programs for veterans, the Brinkley Center Foundation. In our conversation, Dannion shares what he has learned from decades spent helping people navigate life's final transition, why he believes no one truly dies, what happens during the panoramic life review, and how we can live in a way that brings more love, service, and meaning to the people around us. Today's crossword was excellent Monday fare. Most of the clues were written with new solvers in mind, as one would expect; but they were a lot of fun nonetheless, and constructor Tom McCoy had planted one or two traps for the unwary. Bravo! In addition to the crossword, we have chosen our JAMCOTWA™️ (Jean And Mike Crossword Of The Week Award) for the previous week, and our choice should surprise no-one. We'll be talking about one road God has prepared for us and the challenges we find walking in it; two roads that converge in the woods and why Robert Frost doesn't care which one you take; another road the devil wants you to take and the rock band that's urging you along; and the road leading back home -- a home that, God willing, I will have arrived at by now.Check out Hal on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/@halhammons9705Hal Hammons serves as preacher and shepherd for the Lakewoods Drive church of Christ in Georgetown, Texas. For years he worked with WWE Studios, working alongside the monolith to create works with wrestling that you may have seen on Netflix and Peacock. Before we catch up with him, we're going to talk about the AAA show that featured the culmination of Los Grande Americanos– Chad Gable has lost his mask and is back to being himself. We'll talk about what the best way to reintroduce himself would be. Plus, Clash In Italy happened! Brock Lesnar beating Oba Femi was a rough patch for sure; and it was weird seeing Gunther take a loss; but we also got to see the best match of Jade Cargill's career and Sol Ruca win the Intercontinental Title. The Main Event: A is for Armbar Daron is not just a fan of wrestling, he is now a published author. AI is evolving faster than most of us can comprehend. And for many people, it's creating a very real fear about the future. If machines can outthink us and eventually outwork us, what does that mean for our careers, our purpose, and even our identity? Perhaps an even better question is: what does it mean to be human in the age of AI? Today, I'm joined by Jeff Burningham. Jeff is an entrepreneur, investor, and author who has built more than a dozen companies valued at over a billion dollars and recently released his powerful new book, The Last Book Written by a Human: Becoming Wise in the Age of AI. Unlike most conversations about AI that focus on productivity, efficiency, or making more money, Jeff explores something much deeper: how AI can actually help humanity reconnect with wisdom, presence, empathy, and the qualities that make us uniquely human. In our conversation, Jeff explains why AI is not just a technological disruption, but a spiritual challenge and a mirror reflecting humanity back to itself. We talk about fear, optimism, consciousness, emotional regulation, and why wisdom—not intelligence—may become the most valuable human trait moving forward. If you've felt uncertain or overwhelmed about where humanity is headed, this episode will challenge the way you think about both AI and yourself. KEY TAKEAWAYS Why AI Forces Us To Reevaluate Humanity Why AI Is A Spiritual Challenge For Humanity The Human Qualities AI Can Never Replicate Jeff Addresses The Fears People Have About AI Fear vs. Optimism In The Age Of AI Using AI As A Bridge Back To Human Connection How To Use AI Wisely And Mindfully The Real Challenge Facing Humanity Right Now The Choice Is To Focus On Who You Choose To Be Simple Questions That Reveal Your Awareness What Jeff Hopes Readers Take Away From His Book The Conversation About AI Humanity Needs To Have Get The Full Show Notes To get full access to today's show notes, including audio, transcript, and links to all the resources mentioned, visit MiracleMorning.com/639 Subscribe, Rate & Review I would love if you could subscribe to the podcast and leave an honest rating & review. What happens when we stop designing care around institutions and start designing it around people? In this week's episode, AgingIN CEO Susan Ryan sits down with internationally recognized dementia care innovator Eloy van Hal, to answer this question. Drawing on decades of experience in the Netherlands, Eloy tells Susan how he helped move residents from traditional high-rise nursing homes into small, neighborhood-style homes where daily life feels familiar, meaningful, and human. As founder of the groundbreaking Hogeweyk model of dementia village in the Netherlands, van Hal discusses the philosophy behind it and the broader movement toward relationship-based, person-directed dementia care. Their conversation explores the importance of trust, family education, staff development, and stakeholder collaboration in creating cultures of care that honor the person beyond the diagnosis. There's been a bit of a change in WWE recently– the matches on RAW have been longer and of noticeably higher quality. The cards for the upcoming PLEs (more on that later) are particularly stacked. Dare we say that TKO has released its vice grip on the booking team after WrestleMania failed to live up to standards? We can only guess? In fact, the only thing that's dampening the optimism is the fact that Brock Lesnar made is short-awaited debut to continue his program with Oba Femi. The Main Event Aside from the wrestling ring and every item that's involved in a match being converted into a sponsorship, the surest sign of WWE's big business era is their PLE strategy.
