He is an inventor, scientist, writer and founder of Le Laboratoire (Paris, Cambridge), Cafe ArtScience, and biotech and tech companies including AIR (sold to Alkermes), Pulmatrix (Nasdaq), Incredible Foods, and oNotes. He is the author of the book "ArtScience" and he will be discussing with us creativity in the post-Google Generation. We will also touch upon is knowledge of new forms and technologies for improved health and human wellness. In his teaching at Harvard University and his public work at Le Laboratoire and Cafe ArtScience(www.lelaboratoirecambridge.com, www.cafeartscience.com), David explores frontiers with artists, scientists, chefs, perfumers, and creators of all kinds along with new technologies, including inhaled insulin for needle-free diabetes treatment, inhaled salt particles for COPD and pulmonary infections, edible packaging, and digital scent. A common theme of his inventive work relates to delivering human health and wellness via the air we breathe. His books include ArtScience: Creativity in the Post-Google Generation (Harvard 2008) and his forthcoming Creating Things That Matter (Holt 2018). He has won many national and international awards and is a member of National Academies of Engineering in the USA and France and a chevalier des arts et des lettres of the French Ministry of Culture.
