When you go on a trip it's important to make sure that you have everything that you need. You need clothing and food and a toothbrush. Have you ever been surprised? I decided I wanted to surprise my parents with a visit and so I didn't say anything, but drove the 14 hours with my kids and showed up at their house to surprise them! It was so much fun!!! God had a happy surprise for His people - He was going to send His own Son to save them from their sins. They could have known all about it, but they were distracted and didn't understand.
