Co-hosts Pete, Paul and Patte divert from their usual format to bring you this diversion -- a standalone production from 1938 that honors Walt Disney on the 10th anniversary of the very first Mickey Mouse cartoon. Discovered by OTR aficionado John Tefteller in his vast collection of acetate (and other) recordings, he released it on Thanksgiving Day 2025 on his own podcast, The Good Old Days of Radio, thus letting listeners hear it for the first time (probably) since its first release 88 years ago. Mr. Tefteller has graciously allowed us to re-re-release it, since our listeners and his likely follow parallel lines, thus allowing more folks to enjoy it. The three co-hosts are not judging it by their usual criteria (see previous episodes), merely bringing it to you for your entertainment. If you like OTR Essentials and have a suggestion for a future series we should discuss, please write us at our NEW email address: themoonlightaudiopodcast@gmail.com! If we take your suggestion, you'll be eligible for some cool Narada and Moonlight swag. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Prepare for a wild ride through the Summer movie season! Welcome back, comedy4cast faithful! Grab your snacks and prepare for a 2025 Summer movie experience unlike any other... as interpreted by our very own Danny Hillcrest! In this episode, Danny takes center stage, much to the dismay of Buzz "Scoop" Crackerjack Thomas. For two decades, you've known Danny for his boundless enthusiasm and, shall we say, unconventional approach to... well, everything. When it comes to movies, Danny's "reviews" are less about critical analysis and more about Danny making wild assumptions. He freely admits his insights come from trailers and random internet comments. This lead to his now-legendary "non-clip clips" which are audio snippets hilariously disconnected from anything in the actual films. Buzz, ever the professional, attempts to maintain order, but as you know, that's often a losing battle when Danny's around. Their dynamic is a cornerstone of comedy4cast, offering a delightful clash between chaos and journalistic integrity. In this Danny turn his unique lens on three major summer releases, "28 Years Later", "Superman", and "Fantastic Four: First Steps." In his "28 Years Later" preview, Danny goes down a truly unexpected rabbit hole, proving that even a zombie apocalypse can't escape his imaginative (and utterly misinformed) grasp. According to Danny, the Man of Steel faces his greatest challenge yet in "Superman". But it's a threat we're not sure even James Gunn could have seen coming. And Danny introduces us to the iconic Marvel team that stars in "Fantastic Four: First Steps". Kind of. Listen in as Danny Hillcrest once again proves that when it comes to movies, what you think you know is far less entertaining than what Danny imagines. In this episode, the roles of Tam and Sue Storm are played by Bonnie Kenerdine, and the roles of The Editor and Conspiracy Guy are played by Scott Morris, of the Disney, Indiana podcast, located at disneyindiana.com. And don't forget to consider supporting comedy4cast by becoming a Patreon patron. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Project Audion is back with just the facts, ma'am: DRAGNET is one of the few programs from the classic age of radio drama which is still recognized by all ages today - for the iconic four-note theme, at least. But even Dragnet didn't hit the airwaves right away in its fully-realized familiar form. Episode #1, which aired on June 3, 1949, survives only via a script, not a recording. And that script reveals a compelling cop show, but one which doesn't quite match our memories of Jack Webb's LAPD detective, memories formed from years of radio, television, and movie versions. All of which makes Project Audion's new reconstruction of that very first episode such a fascinating show to listen to. Even the Dragnet theme isn't there! But Sergeant Joe Friday is, along with his partner Ben, as well as the true-life crime stories where "only the names have been changed - to protect the innocent." Tune in to catch this lost Dragnet episode. But wait -- there's more! (as they used to say on the commercials accompanying Dragnet TV reruns). R. L. Mills, that senior scriptwriting scribe and storyteller from the days of Bob Hope, has penned a parody of Dragnet called "Hairnet" - and THAT plays back right AFTER our lost premiere. The same cast is heard (and seen) in both shows...only of the parts were changed, to protect the actors. Double Dragnets were a fun challenge - and that's a fact. Learn more about your ad choices. From the shadows of the jungle comes a mystery older than civilization itself! Temple of Vampires is a cooperative recreation of the classic adventure from Carlton E. Morse's legendary radio series I Love a Mystery, newly produced for the Mutual Audio Network by Sonic Cinema Productions and The Amigos Collective. In this thrilling opening double-feature, Jack, Doc, and Reggie travel deep into South America in search of a mysterious stone temple rumored to hold an ancient terror—one whispered about in fearful tones by the locals: vampires. As danger closes in from the jungle and the secrets of the temple begin to emerge, our heroes must decide whether the legend is merely superstition… or something far more deadly. The production stars Jeff Billard as Jack, Lothar Tuppan as Reggie, Jack Ward as Doc, and Angela Young as Sunny, with John Bell, Jan Didur, and introducing Austin Mosher as Hermie. David Ault is your Announcer, with Sharon Bee on the organ. Post-production by Michael Messner, with script updates and direction by Jack J. Ward. Learn more about your ad choices.
