In this episode, we discuss a lot so make sure to tune in and as always, enjoy! Biography Linda Fisler is an award-winning contemporary master artist preferring to paint in a impressionist style. She has studied with Master Artists Kevin Macpherson, George Gallo, Carolyn Anderson, and through her interviews developed relationships with many master artists of today. Linda and Kevin launched Artist Mentors Online (AMO), where they provided lessons via the internet. Linda is also an award-winning author. She has written fiction and non-fiction books. Her “How to Paint From Brush to Palette Knives“ provides a step-by-step instruction for painting with brushes and palette knives. However, Linda’s first love is writing fiction novels. Her Blind Series focuses on three characters, a female lawyer, an MI-6 agent, and a senator, who team up to become the change they want to see. The series asks the question: What if something drastic happen in the 1980’s that caused a different course in history? Would the event, depending on who leads and the choices they make, change the divisiveness we see today in the world? Linda has published four books (available in ebook and paperbacks) in this series; Blind Influence, Blind Persuasion, Blind Alliance, and Cloaked. Linda is also an instructor and mentor. She teaches classes at the Middletown Arts Center, hosts workshops of other master artists, and provides online courses and mentoring via her Patreon site. In this episode of New Horizons we speak with Martin Stewart of Melbourne.  Martin was recently named Blind Australian of the year by the Blind Alliance.  He joins us to highlight passenger safety on rail travel, not just for blind and vision impaired people but for everyone.  The NSW government is considering removing guards from several of their rail lines in an effort to save costs.  Martin discusses the ramifications of such a decision, and the heavy toll it could take on passengers.  It's not all bad news though, particularly for commuters  in Melbourne.

You've secretly been an author for decades. It's just that the world doesn't know it. Now, with new technologies and online services, you can make yourself known. Linda Fisler explains how you can stay in your day job and becoming a published author with all the amazing tools that make it possible. At 18 years of age, Linda worked at Proctor & Gamble testing toilet paper--well not literally testing it--not on her buttocks anyway! Along with toilet paper Linda also became an expert at testing baby diapers. In her 26 years at P&G, she also did some marketing, computer programming, and consumer research. In her spare time, she wrote a script for Star Trek: The Next Generation, sending it registered mail directly to Gene Roddenberry. While her script was acknowledged, she received a rejection letter. That was a setback, but after a few years Linda began handwriting scenes for a novel while continuing her full-time job. Writing on breaks, lunch hours, and throughout the weekend, Linda had generated over a foot-tall stack of scenes. She kept these scenes, and in 2014, she began to compile them into what became her debut novel, Blind Influence. It has garnered three awards-Paris Book Festival, Great Midwest Book Festival, and the Hollywood Book Festival upon its release. Blind Persuasion was published in 2016 and received an award at the Paris Book Festival. Blind Alliance debuted in 2017. Linda is now writing her second trilogy while coaching other aspiring writers to achieve their dreams. She also speaks and guides her audiences on self-publishing techniques, while leveraging online networks to provide exclusive content.
